Upgrading beyond VMWare Horizon View Client 4.6 for t5545 thin client

upgrading beyond  VMWare Horizon View Client 4.6  for t5545 thin client
Noticed there is nothing beyond 4.6.0. Rev. A April 12th, 2011 for the Thin Client Add-on, reference:
http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=3719106&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4030
Are there any plans by HP, to bring this current with another release?
Thanks
Respectfully,
Mark Garza

  • Login Script for HP Thin Clients using Citrix

    Hi
Could someone please assist me with this.
I use a login script on my domain but I am now joining the HP Thin Clients onto the domain which will use SSON (Single Sign ON) which will automatically load citrix and use the current username and password to sign into the citrix session
Is there a command I can use that will "check" the version of windows and if this is Windows 7 embedded Standard edition, then it will bypass all the commands and go to the end of the script.
I was trying something like this IF "%OS Version%" == "Microsoft Windows 7 Embedded Standard" goto END
I know you can use this for a "Computer Name" but we have so many terminals and would need to store all the names of them on the servers.
Please can someone give me some advise on this.
    Thanks
    Martin

    Hi,
As far as I know, you can user command systeminfo | findstr /B /C:"OS Name" /C:"OS Version"to check current system edition in
Command Prompt. However, as I'm not fimilar with script, to need more assistance for your problem, it would be better to provide your question at script center.

  • Code for using thin client over connection pool to access blob and clob

    Hi,
Currently I am running WL5.1SP12 with oracle thin client 8.1.7 to access blob
and clob data. As the performance for concurrent users is very bad, I like to
use the thin client over a connection pool to access the blob and clob instead.
My question is whether this is possible and if so does anyone have a sample code?
    Thanks.
This is urgent as the site has to roll out in 2 weeks..

    Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the reply. Can I confirm that what you are saying is that in release
6.1 I am able to access blob/clob data via thin client over connection pool?

  • Vmware horizon radius integration with two factor authentication

    -1 down vote  favorite
I have deployed vmware horizon view connection server (Evaluation/Trial version), i want to integrate it with two factor authentication server. But after configuring RADIUS parameters in admin portal of connection server, it’s not allowing me to save the settings. Please suggest.
I have attached the snap for your reference.

The SMTP server supports what is referred to as third party authentication. To take advantage of this you would need to provide all of the authentication code, however -- there's no way to do part of the authentication and then pass control back to the messaging server for the rest. So you'd need to do both password checks, one of which is presumably done via LDAP auth, yourself.
As far as LDAP proxy and RADIUS, we use a standard LDAP simple bind. The ODSEE LDAP proxy is often used in OCMS deployments, so that is a known good solution. We don't directly support RADIUS; the aforementioned third party authentication could be used to tie into such a system.

  • Using SBO with Wyse Winterm S30 Thin Clients

I have a customer who is using Microsoft Terminal Services via Wyse Winterm S30 Thin cllents to access SBO over a VPN.  We are experiencing excessive rolling (redisplay) when screens are refreshed. The problem is compounded if a Marketing Document contains multiple Text lines. We have two terminal servers, each with about 12 thin clients connected.
I would appreciate feedback from anyone with experience of using thin clients, regardless of brand.

    Hi,
Thin clients normally have a low memory allocation on the video card (8mb to 16MB) so this can be a problem.  Check to see if you can change this in the BIOS on the WYSE.  If not connect at 256 Colours to reduce this.  If you have pictures linked to products then their resolution will not be good but for SAP itself the difference is small.  Also rename the SAPSS.AVI to .old if you have not already done so so that the splash screen does not come up when logging in.
In my multimedia testing on thin clients, unrelated to SBO, I found that both memory and processor power made a huge difference, which is contrary to thin client manufacturer claims.  As an example I used a 200MHz/64MB TC for a flash application and sound was about 3 seconds behind the image and the image update would skip 3 to 5 frames when updating.  Moving to a 800Mhz/128MB TC The frame refresh rate was almost perfect and the sound was only about 0.5 seconds behind.  I would therefore test on a more powerful thin client to see if it improves performance.
The S30 is a 400MHz (rated @ 533 on performance by AMD).   Try a 1GHz TC with the maximum Video memory you can find.
We are currently using VXL Itona 800Mhz/128MB and do not experience too much rolling but we are using 256 colours.
    Hope this helps.

  • What is thin client and Fat Client

    Hi Experts,
I would like to know about Fat Client and Thin client in detailed words.
    Thanks and Regards.
    Chilla..

    Hi Chilla,
The thin clients are clients that reduce the load on servers.
Let me explain hw thin clients will get works.
Thin clients are stores, all required library files in you local system,so that the  corresponding applications which are using will be used the library files in your local system and it get execute and where as in the case of Fat clients the library files are not stored in your local system.
Please let me know if you have any doubts regarding this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Chandu.

  • Thin Client PXE

    Hi There,
We have a network with ZCM11.2.4 and it is uses to manage all our computers. However we have also about 700 HP thin client terminals. All these Thin Clients have PXE as first boot in the bios and when turning the on they start the PXE from the ZCM server.
It is a lot off work to change all Thin Clients and I was wondering if there is a way to solve this on a other way.
It there a possibility to configure the PXE server that way when he sees a Thin Client he aborts PXE boot?
    Thanks,
    Marcel

Can't you put the thin clients on a separate VLAN? The other way would be
to have an exclusion list on the PXE server. I know it has been discussed
earlier. Let me check the status on that.

  • In applet, how can i got the thin client jar for JMS from weblogic.jar?

who can give it to me?
and, when i used the weblogic.jar coming from weblogic 7sp2 for linux advance server
2.1 as the client jar,i still got a error message that Class (.....Stub.class)is
    not found,why?What should i do?

That approach is a hack and an absolute nightmare. It never worked
completely. I could not get any support for durable subscriptions etc. You
can add this (Thin JMS client) as a request for new feature (but it should
have been available long time ago).

    Hello,
You might want to take a look at the JMS white paper and asociated
discussion for supporting thin clients: check the reference on:

  • Oracle Thin Client Error when Inserting

Cold Fusion 8 fully patched on Windows Server 2008 fully
    patched
Oracle 8.1.7.1 on Linux as DB with Network Option
    (encryption)
Oracle Client 10.2.0.3 Thin Client (tried with ojdbc14 and
    ojdbc12 classes)
SELECT, DELETE, UPDATE statements all work just fine.
When an INSERT statement is sent to the DB it is processed
(the insert is made and committed!) but we are getting a database
error message "Typlänge größer als Höchstwert"
which translates approximately to typ length is larger than the
    limit.
Several threads show this as a problem when the return from
the db is too large but this is definately not the case (a simple
    insert of one small row).
The SQL that is run at the DB includes a suffix of "RETURNING
ROWID" which is not part of our SQL and is apparently added by CF
or the thin client. We do not handle the return value (we tried but
    that did not help either).
Due to the fact that the INSERT is actually made and
committed, we assume the problem must be at the client end and not
    in the database.
This is a blocking problem and appears to be confined to CF 8
    with the Thin Client.
CF 8 with an ODBC connection to the same DB works OK.
Be very glad for any help as we want to go to production with
    this environment.
    Cheers
    Thomas

    I noticed in LiveDocs for
    cfquery
    for CF 8 that the
result parameter is a little different than described for
CF7 in that it mentions the ROWID being returned for Oracle insert
    statements.
What happens when you try including a result parameter (even
if you don't end up using the result_name.ROWID variable)?
result Optional Name for the structure in which cfquery
returns the result variables. For more information, see Usage.
The cfquery tag also returns the following result variables
in a structure. You can access these variables with a prefix of the
name you specified in the result attribute. For example, if you
assign the name myResult to the result attribute, you would
retrieve the name of the SQL statement that was executed by
accessing #myResult.sql#. The result attribute provides a way for
functions or CFCs that are called from multiple pages, possibly at
the same time, to avoid overwriting results of one call with
another. The result variable of INSERT queries contains a key-value
    pair that is the automatically generated ID of the inserted row;
this is available only for databases that support this feature. If
more than one record was inserted, the value can be a list of IDs.
    The key name is database-specific.
result_name.ROWID Oracle only. The ID of an inserted row.
This is not the primary key of the row, although you can retrieve
    rows based on this ID.
I have a hunch that there are differences between Oracle 8i
and 10g in how the rowid value is being "returned".

  • What is thin client ?

Please expalin me what is "Thin client? and what is seemless connections among all the 4 Tiers in HFM Applivation? and what is Classic HFM Application? and What is Artifacts?

    Hi,
If we access a clients from web based are thin clients. We can access HFM through workspace or direct HFM weblink.
The client tier contains the user interface and the ability to communicate with the application tier. You can display data and metadata, enter data, and maintain metadata in this tier. From the Web server tier, you access the Web-enabled portions of Financial Management. The middle tier contains the domain intelligence and connections to the relational database and The data tier contains the relational database and all Financial Management data and metadata.
we can create two types of application in HFM classic or EPMA. Classic applications are individual to each application.
In EPMA we can share same dimention structures among multiple applications. dimension library maintains the dimension and application library maintains the all the application whinch is created in EMPA only.

All, We need some help as there is no DIRECTIONS for install BB DTM on an HP TC5730 then have the USB device appear when you connect to vmware view 4.6.  Do you know of any instructions? We have over 150 users that have blackberries with varying models. We need a seamless solution.
We download the blackberry USB driver but on the thinclient we commit the install but the rim device USB says it's disabled?  Have any others experienced this issue?

  • An error occurred while USB device is connected to your Horizon View 6.1 desktop

    Hi,
Recently we upgraded View from 5.3 to 6.1. Currently I use the virtual desktop agent 5.3.3 (VMware-viewagent-x86_64-5.3.3-2299613). USB redirection works fine.
If I update the agent to 6.1 (VMware-viewagent-x86_64-6.1.0-2509441), the USB redirection is no longer working with this error message:
An error occurred while USB device is connected to your Horizon View desktop.
    Any suggestions are welcomed.
    Thanks.

Error -4 is almost always an indication that the connection between the AirPort Utility application and the AirPort router is is being blocked by....
    1) The Windows Firewall
    2) Microsoft Security Essentials...if installed on your PC
    3) The anti-virus software
    4) 1&2, or 2&3, or 1&3, or all of the above
When I used to use a PC, the only way that I could ever get the AirPort setup was to turn off all of the items above, configure the AirPort, then turn everything back on again.
Life would be tons easier if you had an iPhone or iPad to configure the AirPort Extreme, or you could borrow a Mac for a few minutes.

  • Vmware Horizon 3.3.0 - slow when launched from a VM (WS2008 R2) - any solutions ?

    Hi guys,
We have a VMware Horizon setup that works quite well when accessed from our laptops.
However, for a number of reasons we also need this environment accessed from a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine that resides as a VM on a hypervisor.
But the problem is it is very very slow when launched like this (you can feel the mouse cursor lagging or whenever you open a window on the published Vmware View machine). I will point out that the connection to the client VM (WS2008R2) is done through RDP.
The questions I have since I've not been able to find out so far are:
    1)     Is WS2008R2 x86-64 supported as a client ? Does installation of a VMware Horizon Client on it differ in any way than on a Windows 7 machine ?
    2)     Is the fact that it is virtualized the root cause of the slowness ? If yes, why is that and can I do something to fix it ?
Thank you very much , I really appreciate your help.
    Jay.

    Ok, solved it myself
It seems in the "Control Panel > Mouse Options > Pointers > Scheme" the "Windows Aero - System Scheme" was selected. The second I set that to None, the mouse cursor started behaving and it's moving normally.
    Jay.
