Upgrading Bluetooth 1.1 to Bluetooth 2.0

My 2003 G5 comes with BT built in. I also have the little rubberized antenna sticking out the back. Technical specs say it's version 1.1.
Now want to upgrade to BT 2.0 for using a stereo headset. I simply cannot find any product or vendor for it! I'll keep searching, but maybe the search parameters don't jive. Does it even exist?
Does anybody know where I can purchase a replacement BT module (that's version 2.0 or latest) for my July 2003 G5?

There's no replacement module to upgrade your computer to Bluetooth 2.0 using the existing antenna. As far as I'm aware, the module for the Early 2005 models (which was Bluetooth 2.0 capable) isn't compatible with your model. I could be mistaken, though.
Instead, you'll have to use a USB Bluetooth dongle such as this one: http://www.macwireless.com/html/products/bluetooth/btusb.php
You'll likely need to disconnect your existing Bluetooth module to avoid conflicts.

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Difficulties upgrading Bose Sound Link II bluetooth speak from Mac OS

Tried to upgrade the Bose SoundLink II bluetooth mobile speak firmware from Mac OS snow leporad. Nothing happens
1. I followed all instructions on Bose website up until pressing the AUX button for 10 seconds
2. Nothing happens. It just keeps blinking and stuck from there.

That is the most rediculous thing I learned about the Bose System.
They don't post what their version is.
They don't let you look inside the Bose to determine what version you have
The software doesn't say ANYTHING except so you have no idea if its working or not.

The Get Info dialog should look something like this:
The "Change All" button should be at the bottom of the "Open With" section. This is how it appears in Snow Leopard. Other OSX versions many be slightly different.
If something is changing the setting back to something else you may have a deeper problem than I am able to help you with. What is appearing in the Open with area before you correct it?
If the problem is still persisting, instead of double clicking on the file to open it, try right or control clicking and then select Open With and choose the proper app from the list.

Bluetooth doesn't recognize bluetooth mouse

Tried to follow instructions to have the Bluetooth in the laptop recognize the new Gearhead Bluetooth mouse. Computer can't find the mouse. The instruction said to:
1) Turn Bluetooth on.
2) Setup Bluetooth Device.
3) Bluetooth Setup Assistant
Nothing appears in the dialog box so I can't "continue". The powe switch has been turned on as well as the Bluetooth dongle. What else do I need to do so that the computer can find the mouse?

You need to make sure Bluetooth is on both the computer and the mouse.
You need to make sure the mouse is set to Discoverable mode.
(How to do this will be included in the instructions with the mouse.)

Hey All,
Does anyone know how to disable the stereo bluetooth but keep the bluetooth handsfree swithched on.
I'm having a problem with my cars handsfree setup. If listening to the iPod through the headunit(Kenwood DNX6140) using the cable, and a call comes through, it continues to play the music over the voice call via bluetooth. I have also tried streaming the iPod via bluetooth...this works great but again the music does not stop when a call in in progress unless you actually press stop.
Can anyone confirm that when using stereo bluetooth headphones that the music stops when a call comes through.
Would love some help on this one.

2.01 Upgrade leads to loss of bluetooth function?

I had a clean upgrade to 2.01 last night, but discovered this morning that my phone will no longer pair with any bluetooth devices that it did before the upgrade.
I've tried removing the devices and re-adding them, but this still doesn't fix the problem.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have any solutions?

As for the TC problem, try resetting the router and see if that helps.

Windows upgrade to 10, but missing bluetooth driver.

Just automatically upgrade to win10 , when bluetooth device is missing.
I already go to hp cs, but they told me, if I upgrade software, they won't fix this problem.

, Thanks for posting back. By using the drivers from Intel directly you may not have functionality. The drivers for the notebooks even if they have the same series and so on are usually proprietary. Use any direct drivers at your own risk. The other option you have is to run the Windows 10 update trouble shooter. Here is the link for that. Windows Update Troubleshooter. Run all updates including the optional update and it should repair most issues. Besides that you would have to use any drivers that are released on the HP support site once they are given to HP. HT4623 After upgrading to 6.1 the bluetooth will not pair.

I reset the iphone 5 because the weather was not updating. It erased the previous bluetooth pairings and now it gives an pairing unsuccesful on the Jabra and the Bose headset. When I tried to back up the iphone to the MacBook, it also gave me an error the it could not back up.

Update: my phone's connecting to the WiFi again. I don't know what did the trick. I did nothing since reinstalling the software. It hadn't worked then, it is now. I tried connecting to my dad's phone's hotspot( he uses a Moto G), and it worked. I then tried connecting to the WiFi at a friend's house, and when I came back home, my phone was able to connect to my WiFi! Is it of any significance that my friend's router doesn't require a password? My issue has been resolved( for now; I hope I'm not counting my chickens before they've hatched). For anyone facing a similar issue, I suggest you try everything I did:
1. Turn your router off for a minimum of 30 seconds, turn it back on and try connecting.
2. Click on the WiFi network you are connected to, scroll to the bottom, tap "Renew Lease".
3. Do a soft and hard reset.
4. Reset network settings.
5. Back your data up, erase all content from settings menu, restore from backup.
6. Reinstall your software( put it in recovery mode).
I am not sure which of the above worked for me. Make sure you try everything. If none of the above works, take it to a genius bar or an authorised service provider. Good luck! :)

There was an error connecting to your device. Make sure the device is turned on and in range." When trying to connect to the Jambox it says "Bluetooth audio failed. There was an error connecting to your headset. Make sure it is turned on and in range. The audio portion of the program you were using may have to be restarted." The iPhone and Jambox pair together fine, and I have paired with both the iPhone and the Jambox easily in the past. I haven't updated anything - it just stopped working with these two devices. This is very frustrating.

I could not pair with Uconnect on a 2011 Jeep after upgrading to iOS 8.2 on an iPhone 6. After shutting off iCloud and resetting network settings I was able to successfully pair the phone to Uconnect
