Upgrading CS 3 from Win to CS 5 Mac

OK. Here's the situation.
I've got a copy of Design Premium CS 3. It's the windows version. I have since bought a macintosh and no longer have the Windows PC (which was wiped of all software).
So I have a valid unused CS 3 here, which I want to upgrade to CS 5. Obviously I can't install the windows version on a mac to do an upgrade though. However; the license certificate I have has a Mac serial number on it as well as a windows one.
Is it possible to use this license key to install an upgrade version of CS 5 on my Mac? If so, does CS 3 have to be installed on the Mac first (which is an issue because I don't have the OS X media) or does the upgrade installer just ask for the product key from the old version?
Thanks.

I am also trying to do the same thing. My license certificate has both Windows and OS X product keys on it. I bought a single license for WPCS3 for Windows from our reseller in India. He must have put us under the AVL (Volume Licensing), the reason why our license has both the keys on it, even though the registered products under my Adobe Account (Adobe ID) says WPCS3 for Windows (and displays only the Windows Key).
I am currently using Web Premium CS3 for Windows and want to upgrade to Web Premium CS5 for Mac.
My reseller in India says that I am eligible. What does Adobe say about the Upgrade Eligibility in this case? Your telephonic conversation with Adobe could shed some light on this.
Thanks

There is no Mobile Me anymore. It has been gone for several years, now. However, your existing calendar and mail will integrate with iCloud if you enable it on your system.

  • How do I upgrade my logic from my PC to my Mac?

Idiot 101 for sure, but I'm just wondering if I can use my old product key# and/or USB insert from my PC version of Logic with my new Mac. I have a "hybrid" install disc but it asks for a much older version of Mac OS (9). I think the last version I had on the PC was Platinum 5.0 or something.
Must I buy an entirely new version? Or is there at least an upgrade available somehow, somewhere? Thanks - JT

I would buy the update to the new version.
    You will need :
Your XSKey serial number. your original serial number.
Call Apple as well, for support after buying the upgrade.
I originally had the version 4.8 PC / Mac version too. But I did update regularly, and updated to the version 6 Mac only with no issues. Apple should have no problem honoring your legacy software.

  • Printing from Win PC to a Mac Printer

    Hi all.
I have an Epson R300 connected to the USB port of my iMac, and shared through the System Preferences -> Printer and Fax -> Sharing options, and a Win 2000 PC in local network with the iMac through the ethernet ports.
The PC can see the iMac and exchange documents with it, but I am having problems when printing from the PC to the R300. That is, when I try to set up a network printer using Bonjour for Win, everything is OK, except that at the end of the procedure a message warns me that I have not the rights to use the printer. I am logged as administrator on both computers, which additional rights do I need. Also, I restored the disk privileges where some printer file access privileges were corrupted, but had no change.
I also tryed to use the procedure suggested in MacHelp, but I don't know what a SBM/CIFS printer is and how to set up it on the PC.
Thanks a lot for help. Regards.

  • TS1363 I was upgrading iPhone OS from 5.1 to 5.1.1 on Win 7 using iTunes 10.6.1.7.  The iPhone hung.  It is no longer visible by iTunes on Win 7

While upgrading iPhone OS from 5.1 to 5.1.1 on Win 7 using iTunes 10.6.1.7, the iPhone hung.  I could not get iTunes to find it and Win 7 does not see it.
When I connect the iPhone to the USB, Win 7 issues the welcome sound, but that is it.  The same happens when I disconnect iPhone.
The Devise Manager has the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver correct without any problem.  I updated this driver called usbaapl64.
    The iPhone is still hung.
    I restarted the iPod service
I restarted the Apple Mobile Device Service
I tried to empty and delete the temp directory in C:\users\myname\AppData\Local\ but could not
The iTunes I am using is the latest version
I updated the Apple Mobile Device Driver as stated above correctly
The iPhone is still hung and is not recognized by Win 7 or iTunes, so I cannot restore the OS to the previous working version
What else can I do to restore the previous working OS on my iPhone 4

I was connecting the iPhone 4 to a USB 3.0 port.  I was told by Apple Express Support (at US$29.99) not to use USB 3.0 and to use USB 2.1 instead.
If you are connecting your iPhone to the computer using a USB 3.0 port, disconnect it immediately.  iPhones will lock up if you try to update while  using a connection through a USB 3.0 port.
Disconnect the iPhone from the computer
Go to Device Manager and find the connected USB port.  Click the mouse right button and update the driver
Shut the iPhone by pressing the sleep button and the home button concurrently for some time
Move the USB cable to a USB 2.1 port or older without the iPhone.
    Restart iTunes.
    Connect the iPhone
Your computer should recognize the phone and reloads the correct USB 2.1 driver (Apple Mobile Device)
Then iTunes should recognize the iPhone and starts reloading the firmware.
When that is complete it may ask if you wish to restore, naturally you say YES
    iTunes will restore the iOS
Using iTunes, restore the latest backup to get your data back.
When all of the above is completed.  Start enjoying your iPhone.
If the above does not work.  Throw your iPhone out of the window and get a replacement Android phone.

  • Bluetooth does not work well after upgrade to win 8.1 from win 8

    System:                       Dell Inspiron 15R 5520
    Bluetooth hardware:   Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 + High Speed Adapter
                                         Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator
Ever since I upgraded from Win 8 to 8.1, the bluetooth has not been working well.
The option to browse a remote folder or send a file does not work.
I can send a file only by opening the contaning folder, right click, and send to bluetooth, but cannot receive a file unless I go to
run and then open fsquirt.exe .
I have unpaired and uninstalled the devices respectively, and then reinstalled and repaired them. But this does not work .either.
Unfortunately, I am unable to paste  screenshots of the device manager and error messages until I am verified.
Can anyone give me a solution to this problem?

Verify that you have the latest drivers for Windows 8.1 installed from the manufacturer's website.

After upgrading from Win 8 to 8.1 my  DVD RAM GT80N SATA Drive is no longer recognizing discs. When I first put a disc in the drive runs for a bit and then stops. I've tried updating the driver but it says it has the most current driver. Under manage, it does not show any error codes and it says it is working correctly. I've looked at the regedit and it does not have any of upper and lower filters. I've tried disabling, rebooting, and reenabling. What am I missing? Another issue I've had since upgrading is that my network adapter needs reset several times a day in order to remain connected to wifi.

  • After upgrading from win 7 - win 8, do I really need the win 7 recovery partition?

    Hello.
I'm a happy camper after upgrading my HP Spectre XT from win 7 to win 8 (Win 8 upgrade offer). The 128GB SSD disks just makes everything so smooth and fast.
However I am abit annoyed with the Win 7 recovery partition that still uses 20 GB of my total 128GB space.
I have tried searching the forums, as well as the www for any good answers, but I end up more confused.
So I am asking the community some questions that interests me, and hopefully you can provide me with some meaningsful answers
    1. Can I now delete my win 7 recovery partition, and if so what is the most effiecient and safe way to do it?
    2. Is there a a good way to make sure that if (heaven forbid) something would happen, I still would be able to recover my notebook preferably to win 8, and not the preinstalled OEM win 7?
    3. Of course the Spectre XT has no optical drive, so if its doable I might need to make an win 8 recovery partition in the end. Is it possible?

You can use Windows builtin Disk Management to delete the partition, or EaseUS software. Both procedures are outlined at EaseUS site:
    http://www.partition-tool.com/resource/windows-8-partition-manager/delete-windows-8-partition.htm
As for a Recovery option after deleting, look at System Imaging which is builtin Windows 8 also. You need an external USB hdd for this.

  • T410 Windows 7 Upgrade - from Win 7 Pro 32 to Win 7 Ultimate 64.

I purchased a T410 with Win 7 Pro 32 and am looking for the option to upgrade it to Win 7 Ultimate 64.
The shop in the country (Singapore) do not provide such option/customization.
Called tech support in the country without getting much info (they said they only support hardware).
Tried Lenovo shop in the country and they will only help to upgrade to Pro 64 with a charge, however without any recovery media (OS and drivers).  I need Ultimate 64.
Browsed Lenovo site and couldn't find anything relevant.
Hope someone will give me the direction to upgrade from Win 7 Pro 32 to Win 7 Ultimate 64 (with all drivers).

    Dear Yannick Plavonil,
That discussion was started by me only on dell community and it was not resolved.
However if I upgrade can I revert back to Win 7, if something does not resolve or some of the devices
connected to the motherboard do not work?

  • Reinstalling Acrobat 9 after upgrading my x86 computer from Win XP Pro to Win 8 Pro on a metered isp

I am trying to reinstall Acrobat 9 after upgrading my x86 computer from Win XP Pro SP3 to Win 8 Pro. I used the CD to install the original Acrobat 9, then began the process of applying all the updates that have been issued since. The update from 9.0 to 9.2.0 was 300.1 MB, but my satellite ISP only allows for 250 MB per day. How can I update to the current version 9.5.3 without having to download and install all the intermediate versions?
