Upgrading CS5 extended to CS6 extended. Not CC

I bought CS5 extended student/teacher version. Can this be upgraded to CS6 extended?
I can't join the CC because my PC uses Windows XP SP3.
Can I still buy CS6 extended in a box as an upgrade?

Since student versions are priced so low they have no upgrade route to another student edition.  You can upgrade to a regular CS6 version.
Hope this helps.

  • I upgraded cs5.5 to cs6, serial number invalid

I upgraded cs5.5 to cs6 because I switched the platform from windows to mac. i downloaded it and not while installing it says that the serial number isn't valid. is it because i first have to deactivate the program me on my windows pc? how am i doing that then? thank you!

So then this is the same as the original posters question then... You must request to swap platforms and you are not allowed to use the same serial number if your are changing from Windows to Mac?
    Platform or language swap policies
All product configurations, except for OEM bundles, are eligible for a platform or language swap.
You can also change your platform or language when you upgrade. Contact us to find out if you qualify for a platform or language upgrade.
You must give up all licensing rights to your current platform or language version.
You cannot swap previous versions of a product.
After swapping platforms or languages, you cannot cross back to your original platform or language version.
No more than five total (lifetime) cross-platform or cross-language upgrades or swaps are allowed per customer, regardless of the product.

  • Likely Cost to Upgrade from Photoshop CS5 Basic to CS6 Extended?

I know an exact answer to this question is not available yet, but I would like to get a feel for what to expect when CS6 is released. I currently have Photoshop CS5 Basic. I would like to upgrade it to CS6 Extended when CS6 is released. Am I going to have to start all over as a brand new owner?
    TIA

The Extended version does seem to be about 3D

But I had a feeling there was also something to do with image stacks and Median.
I have found this link for CS4.  Ah yes, here you go

  • How to upgrade CS5 Extended to CS6 Extended?

I have CS5 Extended and would like to upgrade to CS6 Extended. Can someone help me. I am using a MAC. Thanks.

Yes, $199 for the regular Photoshop CS6 version, $399 for Extended from CS5 standard.
A full copy, without the upgrade, is $999 for Photoshop Extended.
So the upgrade already gives you a $600 discount.
Just pay like we all did, or sign up for the subscription mode, $9.99 per month for both the latest version of Photoshop  Extended and Lightroom thrown in.  With a subscription, you'll never own the software.  When your monthly payments stop, the software ceases to work.

  • UPGRADING CS5.5 TO CS6?

Is there a way on this crappy web site to upgrade from CS5.5 to CS6? The only option I am getting is to buy the entire Suite rather than just an upgrade cost?
Also, is there a way to get any sort of customer service without having to ask a forum about it?

  • Upgrading CS5 Ex to CS6

I have CS5 and now that I have purchased Win8 have purchased CS6 upgrade. Can not proceed as message is that it does not recognise my serial numbers

I am replying to my own message. I have found out that my CS5 is a fake. The packaging looks good with holograms etc and has been purchased from a very large online company. I have been using it for over a year. It is only when you upgrade that you find out. The online company are looking into it.

  • Upgrading cs5 student to cs6

    Hello there,
So 4 years ago when I was still a student I bought a cs5 pack but now that I finished my studies I wish to upgrade my photoshop to version 6.
I tried online but only said I wasn't allowed to.
SO... I can or I cannot?
    Thanks in advance.

Fabitss I am sorry but education versions do not qualify for upgrades due to the significant discount provided.  If you are a current student then I would recommend reviewing our Creative Cloud offerings for Students & Teachers.  You can find more details at Adobe Creative Cloud for students and teachers | Adobe.

  • Is there an education discount for upgrading CS5.5 to CS6?

(I purchased earlier, before the "free upgrade" date)

No. There are no academic upgrades since the software is so inexpensive to begin with.

  • I want to upgrade CS5.5 to CS6. Will I be able to use both programs? Or just CS6?

This might be an obvious answer! But I have a full retail version of 5.5. A publisher I work for have started using CS 6 so I need to get it. But I need to continue using CS 5.5 as well for other clients. If I upgrade to 6, do I lose 5.5? Or do I need to buy the full CS 6 license? The issue is really with InDesign… I need to be able to use 5.5 and 6 depending who I work for… and they don't want to muck about with IDML files… just too much hassle.

Thanks Mylenium… so when I pay a reduced amount to upgrade my 5.5 to 6 do you know what happens? Is the original 5.5 serial number applied to both programs… and both 5.5. and 6 can be fully used side by side? Or does 6 come with a new serial? I'm just a little unclear how the specific 'upgrade' license works and can't seem to find any info on it.
What I ideally want is to run 5.5. and 6 on both my Macs without paying the hefty price for the complete 6 suite - just the upgrade price (as I already own 5.5)

  • "Upgrade" CS6 perpetual to CS6 Extended perpetual license?

After spending a reasonable while in the Adobe store labyrinth, I'm still unable to answer this question from a third party:
Does anyone here know if there a way to upgrade a legitimate, registered and activated license to Photoshop CS6 standard to CS6 Extended?
If so, how much does it cost and where can it be bought?  The page where one can buy CS6, full or upgrade, does not offer that option.
We can't find a button to initiate a chat with the sales staff either.
    Thanks in advance.

If they upgraded from CS5 standard to CS6 Standard. They can upgrade CS5 Standard to CS6 Extended on Adobe Web site for $400 its still a $400 discound $1000 -$200 CS6 standard -$400 CS6 Extended = $400...

  • Photoshop CS6 Extended Upgrade will not install

I have Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 Extended installed and activated on my system. The installation for the upgrade from disk for CS6 extended doesn't recognize that the CS5 Extended installation exists or accepts its serial number and I can't proceed. It also doesn't give me CS5 Extended as an option in the drop down menu for previous installations. CS5 shows as being activated on my computer. I did have to do a full system restore to a new hard disk some six weeks ago when my C drive crashed.

As Baljeet said, please clarify. Could be thast you simply have the wrong installer. if so, you may wish to get in touch with support. they can eitehr help you generate an install code or advise about exhanging the wrong media.
