I have a PowerPC dual 1.8GHz G5...what is the most recent version of OS X that can run on this machine? 10.5? If so, which version do you recommend that is the most stable?

I have seen a lot of discussions upgrading from Boot Camp 4 to 5 but no answers upgrading from boot camp 3.3 to 5. My worry is that if I upgrade from snow leopard to mountain lion, that my bootcamp partition will no longer be able to boot up. There seem to be a lot of threads suggesting problems that are possible. Has anyone gone through this upgrade with success?

Before doing any installation restart OSX from your 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD and use Disk Utility to Both Repair The Disk and Repair the Permissions of your Macintosh HD.
Next remove your Snow Leopard DVD and restart your iMac into OSX.
Update to the latest version of OS X Snow Leopard by clicking the Apple icon and choose Software Update to install Snow Leopard v10.6.8, the latest version.
Use Time Machine to make a Full Backup of your Macintosh HD.
Shut down and restart into Windows by holding the Option key at the chime and selecting Windows.
Now use Windows Backup to make a Full Image Backup of your Windows Installation to a removable drive.
Shut Down and Boot back into OSX.
Open the Mac App Store from your Dock to buy and download Mountain Lion. Then follow the onscreen instructions to install it.
Upgrading your OSX to 10.8 should not effect the Windows Partition at all since you are only upgrading the Mac side. You should not have to run the Boot Camp Assitant 5 Utility in OSX at all.
Your Boot Camp 3.3 Windows Support Drivers et. al only effect your Windows installation and should continue to run fine after upgrading.
Which version of Windows do you already have installed on the existing Boot Camp Partition?

Cisco 1141N AP upgrading from 12.4 to the latest version 12.x

I purchased the 1141n AP. Last year when in May, I called Cisco support for help. He told me it, the 1141n would not works alone, it needs the controller. However, He also stated that the new version of IOS will be working as the access point alone.
So I have it, donwload the latest software c1140-k9w7-tar.124-21a.JY.tar from Cisco.com.
Is this the correct version for 1141N and can it work as stand alone now, or acting as the extended WDS extended from the other AP like Apple Extreme.?

Did you buy a 1141LAP or 1141AP? If you bought an LAP, you are going to have to transfer that IOS image you downloaded to your 1141 using xmodem, TFTP, or borrow your buddy's controller, associate your lwap to it, and revert it to IOS. I don't recall how to do it using xmodem (it's a pain and takes forever anyway), but here's the documentation of how to do it using a TFTP server:

If you bought a 1141AP, you're in luck! Just plug that bad boy into your router, grab the ip, navigate to the http server of it using that ip, and configure away using the web gui! From there, you can even upgrade to the latest version of IOS very easily!

I am currently using OS 10.3.9 and would like to upgrade to the latest version possible.
I have 933MHz PowerPC G4 2MB L3 cache, 512MB SDRAM. And running 10.3.9.
as i just got the new iphone4, and this wouldn't connect with itune or any other programmes. As the OS don't support newer programmes.
In this case i will new to upgrade.
How should i go about this?

Welcome to Discussions.
Your eMac is a solid piece of kit. For both OSX 10.4 (Tiger) and OSX 10.5 (Leopard) you're going to need to add more / new RAM, and buy the new OS of course.
eBay or Craigslit for all of it.
OSX 10.4 will be considerably cheaper, and will allow you to continue to run more of your software, especially any Classic Mac OS (OS 9) apps and games.
If it's a 1GHz, you'll need PC133 SDRAM suitable for Mac, and two 512MB sticks is about as high as you can go. They're usually about £6-£8 each in the UK for the Mac compatible stuff, Non-ECC / Unregistered / unbuffered. And a good quality brand name, Micron / Crucial or Kingston. OSX 10.4 and OSX 10.5 are extremely fussy about memory quality, so this is a point you can't ignore.
OSX 10.5 is still sought after, so can be expensive, OSX 10.4 goes for between £15 and £30 in the UK.
A quick note on the memory, PC133 sticks don't get much bigger than the 512MB sticks you're going to want, so there's a lot of demand for them. When a bargain comes up on eBay, etc, you have to check the details quick and Buy.
If ou acciendtally buy non-Mac compatible stuff, the 512MB sticks sell again quickly anyway, and maybe for more than you paid for them.
So scan eBay or similar for a while, and also consider looking for someone selling an eMac wih everything you need, It could work out cheaper if the postage is not too high or if its a local collect.

I am using iPhoto '09 and I believe I have to upgrade it to the latest version to make that happen. I went to the App store to upgrade, but it wants to charge me $14.99. I thought we didn't have to pay for upgrades any longer if we owned a legit previous version (came pre-installed when I bought my Mac in 2009. Can anyone shed any light on this? If the iMac's CPU speed is 333MHz or below, you need to partition the drive so that the first partition is less than 8GB, and then install Mac OS X onto that partition.
If the iMac's CPU speed is 350MHz or above, you need to update to 9.1, and then run the iMac firmware updater.

I just upgraded from i-tunes 10 to i-tunes version 11.1.3 in order to sync my i-phone. All my libraries now come up now as one combined library, which makes it frustrating and difficult to find my songs. Can I have both the 10 and the new 11.1.3 on ?

I had to upgrade to i-tunes 11.1.3 from my old i-tunes 10 so that my i-phone could get synced to i-tunes. I used to have several i-tunes libraries on my computer for various subjects. Like for movies, bird recordings, and songs I wrote myself. Now when I open i-tunes all the libraries open up at once in one library, it is completely reorganized, making it almost impossible to find my old songs, playlists, movies, etc. I just got done organizing my libraries, and now its all confused and Im terribly frustrated. How can I get my old organization back, and is it possible to have several libraries again, or both the old and new i-tunes on the same hard drive? Anyone have any advice how to organize my new i-tunes ?
