"upgrading" from 3.6 to a full version of 5

Hi. I just purchased a new full version of LR 5 (because it was cheaper than buying the upgrade version) and am wondering if it will still move all my work and presets to the full version from the 3.6 version that I currently have on my pc.
Thanks

I found my answer after browsing through the Lightroom Facebook page. "The  upgrade version is the same program as the non-upgrade, the difference  is just pricing of how you get a license to work with the application."

  • Will Installing LTR5 from CC  be compatible with full version LTR 5.7 on desktop ? will it over write any settings i have and what purpose will this serve?

will Installing LTR5 from CC  be compatible with full version LTR 5.7 on desktop ? I bought the standalone LTR5  couple years ago .So  will CC LTR5 overwrite any settings i have in This application ?And simply merge with what I have on desktop without too much trouble ? I have over 10,000 photos in Libraryin LTR5.7   Do  I Leave LTR5 IN CC alone even tho I am  paying for the Photgraphy package at 9.99?. whats the difference between the Lightrooms ? Thanks on clarifying !

There is only one version of the Lightroom program. The Lightroom standalone version, the student version, and the CC version are all the same program. The only difference is in how they are licensed. The standalone version that you are using is activated with a serial number. The CC installation is activated with your Adobe ID and Adobe password. I would suggest that you uninstall your standalone version. Then you will be able to install Lightroom from the creative cloud application manager. The application manager will keep track of updates for you as they are released. And when Lightroom 6 is released you will get it automatically, no additional charge, as part of your creative cloud subscription.
Uninstalling your current Lightroom will uninstall the program, but will leave the catalog and all user files as well as all of your images on the computer. Once you have installed Lightroom from the creative cloud manager you will be able to simply double-click on the desktop icon (which will look just like the old one) and start right where you left off. Everything will be intact, business as usual. I know this because I went through the process I have described when I joined the creative cloud. It happened just as I have described. There were no problems in switching.

  • How do I upgrade from Acrobat 8 to the latest version of Acrobat

I was looking in the shop and it only gives the option to upgrade from 9 on.  We have 13 Acrobat 8 licenses that we would like to upgrade if possible.  Any suggestions?

    Hi cathyt873
Upgrade to Acrobat XI from Acrobat 8 is not possible. You need to purchase the full version.

  • Upgrading from CS3 student edition to full

I have a CS3 Design Standard student edition, and wish to upgrade to the full commercial version.
When selecting which product I own, student editions aren't listed. Do I just select the upgrade from 'CS3.x Design Standard'?

    Correct.

  • Related to Upgrade from 9.3.1 to 11 version

    Hi Experts,
I need to upgrade from 9.3.1 to 11.1.1.3/11.1.2.1.
    I know recommeded to install on new servers;
    1) What if client ask to upgrade (no new server) on existing one.
    2) How to handle if we have already Tomca Appache (app server) on 9.3.1 and now 11 doesn't support.
what points to keep in mind with these two challenges to reduce some complexity.
    Regards
    Kumar

I think your question is not one that can always be answered quickly on a forum but it is worth you having a read of the following on Oracle support - "Upgrade Advisor: Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) System Upgrade from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1 [ID 324.1]"
Yes it is 11.11.3 to 11.1.2.1 but it goes through all the different stages from evaluation to acceptance, the information provided is relevant to other versions.
It is possible to upgrade from on the same server, tomcat is no longer supported so the web app server used will be weblogic.
There is also details in the documentation about upgrading - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_11121/frameset.htm?ch05.html

  • Upgrade from CS2 Education to CS5 Full Commercial?

    Hello,
I'm new to this forum. I have a question regarding upgrading to CS5. I don't think there's been another question on this specific question I have. If there is, sorry for posting it again.
Basically, I have a copy of the CS2 Design Premium Education version. Now I would like to upgrade it to the CS5 Design Premium Commercial version. I didn't need to work from home previously, so never really needed the commercial licence for my laptop. But now it's time to get one so I can work anywhere.
I know there is an upgrade from CS2 to CS5 version that I can purchase but it doesn't tell me if it can be used on the Education version too.
Can anyone confirm that the upgrade does work on an Education version too?
    Thanks heaps.
    Leanne

You brought up a few issues here.
    (1) If you bought an upgrade that you cannot use, please call Adobe Customer Support (via phone) and see what can be done to let you return the software. There should not be any problem if this is within 30 days of purchase, but even if not, they should be supportive. If the first agent you speak to can't assist, ask for their supervisor.
    (2) The copy of CS3 that was installed on your Mac by your employer is likely a volume license which cannot be upgraded via a standard upgrade license. Note that if your employer installed the software using their volume serial number, that software license belongs to your employer and not you personally. It that employer is in fact your ex-employer, you no longer have legal rights to use that software which was licensed to your ex-employer. (Note that purchasers of volume licenses cannot unbundle a volume license by either giving away copies such as to former employees or sell such copies!)

  • Upgrade from Photoshop CS6 Student to normal version?

    Hello there,
Last year I bought Photoshop CS6 Student as I was a student back then. Right now I started a business and want to keep using photoshop legally. Is it possible to upgrade  from a student license to a normal license? What is the price of this upgrade? Or can I just use my student version for business purposes? (I guess not)
    Thanks in advance
    Regards

Primarily a budgetary concern. At the time, I had $199 to spend on the upgrade. The extra $200 wasn't going to happen before the end of December when the pricing was said to increase so I went ahead and picked up CS6. The 3D capabilities would be nice to have and probably would be helpful in future projects, but the need right now was to get the upgrade to the standard with the (now presumably false) assumption I could upgrade when I had a few more gigs show up.
If it's another $400 to upgrade, it won't be worth it for me. My primary job is programming, I only do side work for photography and some simple design and while it'd be nice to have some basic 3D ability in Photoshop, it's not $600 worth (400 for the upgrade + the $200 I already spent).

  • Change from Office Test Drive to Full Version without losing files

So my trial is almost up and I need to download the full version. In browsing earlier discussions, it seems there are a few different ways to uninstall Test Drive - how should I do it so that none of the Word docs I saved get lost?
    Thanks!

is there anything in particular i should do to save/transfer my office documents to NeoOffice?
Just open them with NeoOffice and it should be fine.
Note that if you thereafter need to send a document to a use of Microsoft Office, you'll want to make sure that NeoOffice saves it in an Office-compatible format (the default document format isn't Office-compatible, and I can't find a way to reset that default format though there may be an option I'm missing).

  • Upgrade from PageMaker to InDesign. What version is best and will old serial number work?

I'd like to upgrade from PageMaker 6.5 to InDesign. Should I wait for InDesign C S5. Will InDesign C S5 support PageMaker? Or should I upgrade to InDesign C S4? And if I have an old serial number for PageMaker 6.5, how can I complete the upgrade? I understand the older PageMaker serial numbers are no longer recognized.

I understand that Adobe is already selling InDesign CS5 and therefore you would have no choice if you want to upgrade. I would think that the easiest way of finding if your PM serial number applies for an upgrade is to try buying an upgrade. You don't need to complete the purchase if you don't want to.

  • Can I upgrade/use  Deep Exploration 3.5 Full  Version safely?

I use Deep Exploration 2.0, and, was planning an upgrade for a new 3D system. Now, I have Acrobat 3D trial (full vers. in mail). Will an upgrade install of Deep Exploration break the Acrobat 3D "branded" tool? Will I need to run DE4.0 from another volume/system? Or, is functionality for Adobe's 3D Tool significantly different? (My DE 2.0 is not on current volume.)
Also: PMI-PDF Modules due next month extend DE 3.5? Or is it technically possible to get full DE functions within the Acrobat tool?

    HI
Hopefully I can answer some of your queries...
A fresh install of Dexp 3.5 shouldn't interfere with Toolkit. Toolkit is an independent version of Dexp with a limited number of features...
Again, the next version of Dexp-4.0 shouldn't interfere. You just need to decide what workflow works best. As I see it, there is nothing that Toolkit does that Dexp doesn't.
The announced publishing modules will only work with Dexp 4 as there are a lot of new features.

  • Upgrade from 10.4.11 to recent version?

I am trying to upgrade my Mac OS version, currently 10.4.11.
My software upgrade tells me I am completely up-to-date with my software.
    I am using a Mac Pro 2 x 3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon machine.
    With 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM.
What do I have to do to enjoy the latest Mac OS Version so I can start using iCloud and other upgrades of different programs?

Buy the $29  Snow Leopard disc from Apple and install it. Then do the online upgrade to Lion.  You'll have to pay for both upgrades.  Apple may also encourage you to buy the other software and get the full box set for Snow Leopard but it's up to you if you think you need/want it.

  • ACS SE 1113 Upgrade from 4.0.1 to current version

    Hello,
does anyone has experience in upgrading the 1113 SE from 4.0.1 to the current version (4.2)? Our customer does not have a recovery CD. I did not found such an image on CCO. In case of any problems how can the system be recovered? Exact version of current version is 4.0.1(42). I suppose the following product will be the correct one for the upgrade: CSACSE4.2-SW-MR-K9.
    Any hints are apprecdated, thanks.
    Regards, Markus

The first step in migrate the ACS software running on a previous SE appliance platform (the Cisco 1111, the Cisco 1112 or the Cisco 1113) to run on the ACS 4.2 Cisco 1113 platform is to Upgrade the software on a previous SE hardware platform (the Cisco 1111 or the Cisco 1112) to ACSversion 4.1 by using the full upgrade method.
The further steps is described in the below URL:

  • Cisco 1141N AP upgrading from 12.4 to the latest version 12.x

    Hi,
I purchased the 1141n AP.  Last year when in May, I called Cisco support for help.  He told me it, the 1141n  would not works alone, it needs the controller.  However, He also stated that the new version of IOS will be working as the access point alone.
So I have it, donwload the latest software c1140-k9w7-tar.124-21a.JY.tar from Cisco.com.
Is this the correct version for 1141N and can it work as stand alone now, or acting as the extended WDS extended from the other AP like Apple Extreme.?
    please advice.
    Thanks

Did you buy a 1141LAP or 1141AP? If you bought an LAP, you are going to have to transfer that IOS image you downloaded to your 1141 using xmodem, TFTP, or borrow your buddy's controller, associate your lwap to it, and revert it to IOS. I don't recall how to do it using xmodem (it's a pain and takes forever anyway), but here's the documentation of how to do it using a TFTP server:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/conversion/lwapp/upgrade/guide/lwapnote.html#wp161272
If you bought a 1141AP, you're in luck! Just plug that bad boy into your router, grab the ip, navigate to the http server of it using that ip, and configure away using the web gui! From there, you can even upgrade to the latest version of IOS very easily!
    Good luck!
