Upgrading from 3GS to 4S problem

I just upgraded phones from a 3GS to a 4S on AT&T. I was using the 4S for a day before I backed up everything from my old phone to the new one. On the new phone BEFORE the backup I could use visual voicemail and siri understood me.
Now after I have backed up everything from my oldphone to the new one, visual voicemail is gone (and it's asking for a password to check voicemail, I don't know I had a password), and Siri doesn't understand the same things.
Is there something I can do to fix this?

For the visual voicemail issue, contact AT&T.
Not sure what you mean by "Siri doesn't understand the same things". Does it not understand anything at all? Or just some commands? Do you have the language set correctly? (US English as opposed to UK english)

I've just upgraded from 3GS to Iphone 4, payment meth declined??

I've just upgraded from a 3GS to an iPhone 4. I succesfully transfered everything. A few apps needed updates, no problem I thought.
How wrong was I??! Its says I need to authorise my account as its been accesed from a different device, fair enough, I entered my details & it says my payment method has been declined. So I tried another account, different card etc same problem! I have money in both accounts, & Im not trying to purchase anything!!
This is doing my head in, apps need updates & I was fancying a few new ones but I cant get any. Can anyone help?

Upgrading from 3GS to 4S - what's best procedure for transferring info?

i have an iphone 3gs and just got the 4s. What do I need to do to get the 3GS info onto my new phone? What's easiest? I haven't done anything with my new 4S and i have not upgraded the 3GS phone to the new software. Advice?

IF you've been syncing the 3Gs on a regular basis, including contacts to a supported application (address book on the Mac or Windows Address Book or Outlook on a PC) AND all of your media is in the iTunes library you normally sync to, AND all of your apps are in the iTunes library you normally sync to, then you should be able to plug the 3Gs in, back it up and sync it, Start up the 4S, go through the screens until you get the choice to Activate it and restore using iTunes, then plug it in. It should restore all of your apps, data and settings from the old phone to the new one.
BE CAREFUL. iOS 5 no longer displays the big swipe to cancel sync message when it's busy syncing with the computer. Touch the home button if the screen is dark and look at the top of the screen next to the signal strength meter. If you see 2 little rotating arrows, it's still busy.

I have upgraded from a 3GS to a 4S and now have no service? Any ideas?

Basic troulbeshooting is reset, restart, restore.
Has any of this been tried?
What about Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?
Has the 4S actually been activated?

Upgrade from 3gs to 4s ? Sim card

Anyone know how Apple deals with upgrading from the mini SIM in the 3GS to the micro SIM in 4 and 4S?
If I have a 3GS with it's old mini-SIM in it and pre-order a 4S from Apple for home delivery, will the new phone have a new micro SIM in it when it comes? Will I need to deal directly with AT&T to link the new SIM to my old account/line, or does the activation process automatically do that? Or might the 4S come SIMless, leading me to take the old SIM and cut it down to Micro-SIM size? Anyone with experience from the 3GS to 4 upgrade have any light on the subject?

Upgrading from 3GS to iphone 4S

I just upgraded my phone from 3GS to 4S, and and I want to give my old 3GS to a family member of mine so they can use it with there number. I have already moved my number that I had over to the 4S and moved all my info over via iCloud it was pretty simple to do if you ask me. But I do have a couple of questions though.
1) What is the best way to wipe the phone, either on the phone or via itunes on their computer?
2) What's the best way to backup your phone, icloud or itunes?

Thanks for your response, when I got my 3GS, I did it through itunes, but since since I had MM (now icloud) I thought I'd try this way with my 4S. And I was surprised it was easier way to do it.
Now do I really need to connect my 4S to my computer for it to be sync with itunes or not?

Upgrading from RH7 to RH8: Problem with user-defined variables

Notice that there is now a space before the period. Any time my UDV is followed by another letter or punctuation, there is now an extra space. :-/ Does anybody know of a way to fix this besides using FAR to search and replace every possible combination of UDV + letter/punctuation?

Problems like that make me a whole lot happier that we upgraded from RHX5 where variables didn't exist! I think the best way forward IS to use a find and replace tool. Sorry.

I recently upgraded my local machine from vs2008 to vs2010 and I'm having some problems with any page that uses the CrystalReports ReportViewer.
I'm recieving the error:
CS0433: The type 'CrystalDecisions.Web.CrystalReportViewer' exists in both
'c:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\CrystalDecisions.Web\13.0.2000.0__692fbea5521e1304\CrystalDecisions.Web.dll' and 'c:\Windows\assembly\GAC_MSIL\CrystalDecisions.Web\10.5.3700.0__692fbea5521e1304\CrystalDecisions.Web.dll'
My web.config only has references to the new 13.0.2000.0 as does the .aspx page containing the report viewer.
I was reading another similar thread Problems upgrading from VS2008 to VS2010., but the solution listed (remove all references, remove the report viewer, then add all the references and report viewer back) didn't work for me.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Upgrade From CS5 To CS6 Problems With Flash Graphics?

Hi People.
I upgraded from Adobe CS5 to CS6. I originally built a printable book and developed an interactive version in InDesign CS5, which I finally exported to Flash. For the printed version I used Adobe illustrator to create the book images and for the interactive version I converted the images into SWF.
The upgrade from Adobe CS5 to CS6 went well for the InDesign printed version of the book and I exported the new CS6 version of the printed book to PDF. However when I opened the old InDesign CS5 interactive version of the book in InDesign CS6 I was missing the links for the images.
When I tried to relink the images I was told `Cannot place this file. No filter found for requested operation:.
Please please help me because I am 2000 images in the new CS6 interactive version and short of going back and replacing each one individually, I am at a loss.

Yes I can place the old SWF file into a new CS6 document and that works well, but I`m talking about 3 books of a total of nearly 10,00 images, which is a lot of time of replacing old for new,
Maybe I`ll stick with the interactive books staying in CS5 because I can`t see any material benefit of upgrading them to CS6, unless they were to be EPuped from their present CD Rom format?
However I do think it is a dreadfull oversight of Adobe not to stop me be penalized in a large slice of my profession, interactive second language book production, for the good intent of upgrading my CS Master Suite,

Upgrading from 3GS to 4S tomorrow. iOS5 a necessity on my 3GS first?

I'm upgrading to a 4S tomorrow. My 3GS is currently backed up, but not with iO S5. Can I restore from backup with the 4S successfully without making a backup of my 3GS with iO S 5?

All previous versions of iOS you do not have to update your old iPhone for the Back Ups to work perfectly. Many users will be going from Original and 3G iPhones which cannot go to iOS5. You will have to update iTunes however.

Solution upgrade from VS2008 to VS2013 problem

Those days we are upgrading our main Visual Studio Solution, from Visual Studio 2008 Professional to Visual Studio 2013 Professional.
Solution File is OK.
Project files are OK (some references needed to be modified).
Projects are building and running OK.
Setup projects NOT OK:
Solution Explorer shows "(incompatible)";
by expanding a setup project, it shows "The application is not installed".
I have created a new setup project, using Install Shield limited, some problems:
1) the build gives following error:
Error 165 -6002: Error while attempting to run the custom build setup for objects. ISEXP : error : -6002: Error while attempting to run the custom build setup for objects.
However, the msi file is created.
When I run it onto my development computer, the application starts with following error:
Application Error
Error - Error creating database object.
Application will exit.
OK
When the msi is run onto another computer, the application runs correctly.
2) I don't see how I can reuse my Installer Classes developped with Visual Studio 2008.
It seems it is not possible with Install Shield Limited :-(
I can't imagine Microsoft didn't handle compatibility for Setup projects using Installer Classes developped in Visual Studio 2008 Professional with Visual Studio Studio 2013 Professional.
Our customers and dealers are waiting our new release, so how could we provide them ?

Upgrading from panther to tiger problems

Hi i recently purchased Tiger discs from ebay to upgrade my panther system. As most applications now need 10.4 or about (including the new ipods which i have just found out after buying one). Now I have a g4 1.67 ghz powerbook and when i boot it with the install disc in it i get a kernel panic about how the disc has been formatted only for macbook and cannot be used on a power book. I wish i knew this before i bought the discs.. i plan on upgrading to leopard soon anyway but for now, is there anyway around my problem with the macbook install discs and trying to install them on an older power book?

No. They will not work ever. MacBooks have a totally different architecture. You bought what is called a machine specific disk; meant to install on only the model it shipped with. It came with a MacBook and will only install on that exact model.
See if you can send it back. E-Bay has alot of machine specific disks for sale. That is why most of us here don't recomend buying OS software on E-Bay.
The Retail disk is black in color. PriceGrabber.com lists one for sale for at Amazon.com.
