Upgrading from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5
I would like to upgrade to an iPhone 5 and back up my phone on a daily basis. I am worried that I will lose lots of info when restoring my backup to the iPhone 5. Can this happen?

if you do that all data is transfered
if you choose no you still have access to the same contacts and apps and media you sync with using itunes

I upgraded from an iphone 4 to a 4s, after a few initial problems and two restores, everythings seemed to be working...until I went to play some music, all music loaded to itunes via CD's played, but ALL purchased music from itunes does not play...i click on the song and the screen flashes to the image then goes back to the list of songs, so the purchased music shows up...just does not play. Can anyone help resolve this problem? Thanks!
here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock. -
I have upgraded from an iphone to a 5. I have an itunes account on my laptop for the 4 and have started a new itunes account for the 5 on my desktop at work as the laptop was being fixed. I want to transfer all the contacts, apps and music, photos etc from the 4 to the 5 How do I go about this (in dummies language please!)

I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4s. My old iPhone had not completed a sync in some time because of a faulty cable. But the old phone still will not sync properly even with the new cable.
Now that I have my new iPhone, I would like to first sync the old phone so all the data will be available for the new phone. I would also like to have an extra copy of my audio ebooks on the old iPhone so my husband and I can both listen at the same time using earphones while driving long distances in the car and then discuss the book. We have been unable to do this with the old iPhone alone due to constant road noise.I'm not sure what made the difference, but I tried again and it worked this time. ???????????

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5. I have a Motorola HX550 Bluetooth Headset which worked flawlessly with the iPhone 4s. However, since upgrading to the iPhone 5, I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call. I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss. The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens. All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again.

Really nice Headset unless you own an Iphone 5. I own several Plantronics headsets and have always loved the quality/ performance. This headset seems not to be compatible with the new Iphone 5. In the middle of a conversation it will lose all incoming audio. This leaves you trying to switch audio sources really fast in order not to lose your phone call. Ive tried 3 legend headsets and they all do the same thing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because the headset is really nice
Since this issue appears to affect multiple headsets from multiple vendors, I think it is fair to conclude that it is an issue with the iPhone5 bluetooth itself.
I am posting this as a new discussion as I don't see any other posts specific to this iPhone 5 Bluetooth issue. I would have reported this as a problem to Apple, but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this on the web. I have recently upgraded from my iphone 5 to a new phone. My iphone 5 's touch screen does not work anymore. I need to backup my phone, but I can't do it on itunes without my password. Everything besides the screen is completely fine-the screen will not recognize my finger anymore. I am not trying to fix the phone, but I need to have my contacts. The pictures have already synced, but I need my password to do a full backup. Unfortunately, I can't type in my password. Is there any way around it? If I take my phone to the apple store, will they be able to help me? I am not willing to replace the screen just to do this, however, so that is out of the question.
Someone else may have a workaround, but, as far as I know, if you cannot interact with the screen on the iPhone, there is no way to unlock it so you can get to your contacts.
Were you saving them to iCloud by chance? If so, you can restore them to your new phone.

Hi, I have recently upgraded from and Iphone 4 to 5. I completed a back up on my iphone 4 via icloud which went ok. When setting up my new phone I selected to set up as a new phone and not via icloud back up. Is there anyway I can restore my details to my new phone? Thanks Hayley
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Navigate to Settings > General > Software Update and install any updates available.
Navigate to Settings > General > Reset > Erase all contents and settings on the device you want to restore.
When this completes and the Set-Up Assistant starts, choose "Restore from iCloud Backup" and enter your iCloud account and password. You will see the three most recent backups for each of the devices on which you enabled Backup. Choose which backup to restore from. -

i have just upgraded from an iPhone 3Gs to an iPhone 5. I am trying to transfer all my content via icloud but having problems logging in - it keeps telling me the server is not responding. Nano sim hasn't yet been registered - does this affect things?
Have you activated your phone with your carrier yet?

I just got a new iPhone 5 and I upgraded from the iPhone 4. I did sync my old phone before switching to the new phone. When I set it up, I didn't get all of the pictures or apps I had on the old phone. How can I fix that? Thanks for any insight!
Sign out, and then sign back into the app store. Make certain you are using the correct AppleID.

I'm upgrading from an iPhone 4 to an iPhone 5,how can I save my music on the iphone4 so it appears on the iphone5??Have you been using your computer to sync your old phone? If so all your stuff is on your computer.
If you have not yet synced your old phone to a computer do so before switching to the new phone. Transfer all the photos from your old phone to the computer. Transfer all purchases from the old phone to the computer and make sure all your music ends up in iTunes on the computer.
Then when you get your new phone you can sync it with the same computer and load all your stuff easily. -
I recently upgraded from an Iphone 4S to 5. I am having trouble with magicjack; each time i install it it gives me an error message "The installation associated with this device is invalid". Cannot seem to access account info or make calls.
I have exactly the same trouble.
