I've upgraded from LR5 to LR6.  Can I (or should I) un-install LR5?  What are the consequences of deletion?

    How can I buy the upgrade from LR5 to LR6 without being sent all the time to CC subscription?

    Thank you very much for your help.
    I've spent almost one and a half hour looking for this stuff and just couldn't get it.
    So much for user-friendly sites.
    As a final touch, the shopping card doesn't work with FireFox, had to do it with Chrome...

    Running Lightroom 6 on Windows machine (after having upgraded from LR5... While attempting to add or change music in the Slideshow module, LR unexpectedly quits.  After several attempts at this, LR6 won't even launch properly...shows the splash screen but that's it.  The program is buggy...need an update/revision quickly!!

    If you're on Windows, check out a free program called Audacity--it's fantastic.  With Audacity the process of converting a 48.000 kHz to 44.100 kHz is as simply as opening, changing the sample rate, and then exporting again, as an MP3.

  • Can't access any photos in Lr after upgrade from Lr5 to Lr5.3.

    Just upgraded from Lr5 to Lr5.3.  Now can't access any photos in Lr.  I suspect a catalogue issue.  Any suggestions?

    "can't access" ??
    By what method are you trying to access these photos? What module of Lightroom are you in when you try this? What exact steps in Lightroom are you using ... please use the Lightroom name of the steps, as technically there is no step called "access", so I honestly have no idea what the step is that you are trying. What happens when you try to "access" the photos? Is there an error message?

    Lightroom 6 is up and running.  Upgraded from LR5.  However I want to change the file name to be more generic, e.g., description in LR5 references LR5 and I want to change that to just John G's LR Catalog/Library.lrcat.  How can I accomplish this without fouling everything up?

    Ok, well you'll need to do something like this. Now this part is a little dependent on your database server:
           try {
                Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver").newInstance();
                Connection c = DriverManager.getConnection(
                                                           "jdbc:mysql://{database-server}/{database-name}:3306?user={username}&password={password}");
                Statement Stmt = c.createStatement();
                int count = Stmt.executeUpdate(cmd);
                if(count>0) {
                     System.out.println("count: " + count);
            } catch (Exception e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
        }That was some sample code for a MySQL database.
    Note that the applet can only contact the server that is was loaded from, so you might want to do a getCodeBase() or something like that to get the server address.
    Hope this is helpful.

  • Can I purchase an upgrade from lr4 to lr6?

    how do i purchase an upgrade from lr4 to lr6?

    Yes, go to Products, scroll down to Lightroom 6, click on Buy, change "Full" to "Upgrade"

  • I'm not interested on buying CC, I'd just like to update from LR5 to LR6. Where are the links?

    I have LR5, I'm interested in LR6.
    I don't want to commit 10 USD/month for a program that I don't use every month, I prefer to pay an upgrade as it has always been, but looks like Adobe is only interested in pushing its CC no matter if you don't need the other products in the bundle.
    If there's a link to buy LR6 which is?
    If there is another procedure, please let me know

    You can buy or upgrade from this link:  Products
    Click on Buy in the Lightroom section. Don't worry about the price at first.
    You should see something like this when you drop down the box from Full to Upgrade and tell it what you already own.:

  • "Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer" when upgrading from LR5 to 6

    I just downloaded desktop version of LR6 (upgrade). I (unfortunately) have more then one email address associated with Adobe account. I "think" that the last purchase of 5 (upgrade from 4) might be associated with one of the other email addresses. I have atempted to logon to these other "accounts", and cannot. I have done "forgot password" but do not get the email from Adobe.
    Any suggestions would be most welcomed!

    The message identifies that you have purchased an upgrade version of the applications and it is asking you to identify the previous version of that application that you are upgrading from and then to provide its serial number.
    If you did not intend to purchase an upgrade version then you probably need to cancel that and purchase it at full price.

  • Cannot upgrade from LR4 to LR6

    Hello, I am stuck.. I purchased the LR6 upgrade from LR4 and Adobe says that my product key in invalid.  I need help please..

    Hi ssprengel, I have a LR6 product key that does begin with 1160, I purchased the upgrade from adobe.com and paid the $85 upgrade charge.  I am trying to install the new version and I enter the new product key that I was given when I made the purchase, the installation setup then asks for my old product key which I then enter (from my LR4 key) and a warning pops up saying that it is "invalid."  It is not, invalid, I purchased LR4.
    Basically it won't let me move forward without accepting my old LR4 key.. What do I do now?

  • I upgraded from LR5.7.1 to LR6 and when I try to load LR6 it says that my Serial number is valid, but there is no program on my pc that is works with.

    I get this when I load the program.  It is a stand alone version on Win7

    That was it, Thought it was smarter than that.
    Thanks for your help.

  • I get this message when I try to update from LR5 to LR6

    What do I have to do?

    If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
    ☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
    ☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar. Then select the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, start over and note the time. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
    If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
    When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
    Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
    Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.

  • LR5 upgrade from LR5 Beta

    I'm brand new to lightroom and just downloaded LR5 Beta. i am truly impressed with the product (I've some limited experience with elements 7 for my digital photography - bit I can't believe I haven't used LR before).
    So before i import all my photos into LR beta, making my changes etc, am I safe in assuming that when I purchase the product that my work done in LR5 beta will be retained and accesible in LR5?
    Thanks!
    -matt

    If past performance is any indicator, then all of your work should carry over.  However, the release notes for the beta version indicated that you should not use it for production work because the images might not look just the same when the final product is officially released.  I am using the beta version, and will be using some of the images I have worked on in an upcoming photo book.  But I'm doing so knowing that I might have to make some adjustments later on.

  • Lightroom 6 doesn't migrate Export User Presets from LR5

    Tonight I upgraded from LR5 to LR6 (standalone, not CC).  My catalog migrated successfully and generally the library and develop modules seem to work fine.  But when I go to export, all my User Presets are gone.  Any advice on how I can recover my export user presets so that I don't have to manually recreate them all?  I'm on a Late 2012 Mac Mini, 2.6/i7/16GB, OS X 10.9.5.

    Thank you, that was the problem.  They were checked as stored with catalog in LR5, but not in LR6.  Once I clicked the checkbox in LR6, I found all my export user presets.  Now I assume that if I subsequently uncheck that box, LR6 will create a unique file to house those presets?  Does it matter if they are or are not in the catalog?  I've got a decent grasp of LR's functionality, but wasn't aware of this and don't know if there are pluses or minuses with either approach...
