Upgrading from MX to CS3?

Question

Hi,
Thanks for any input. I have been using Dreamweaver MX for a
long time and im thinking of upgrading to CS3. I wanted to ask
first of all will the sites I made in MX be able to be imported and
edited etc in CS3?
Next I will be needing forms on some of my up coming sites.
Are they fairly easy to learn how to do in CS3?
Next will the upgrade to CS3 be compatible with Fireworks
MX? Any chance that CS3 and fireworks MX works with PDS files?
One more question.. Outside of all the extras since I am
very familiar with MX will there be alot to learn before I can
build a standard site? In other words if I didn't add forms and
such and just did what im doing now in MX all will be about the
same?

Yes. Make sure you EXPORT from MX (Site Manager) first. Then
if they are
automatically migrated by CS3, you can import them all.

Forms are difficult for everyone who is not willing to take
the time to
learn how to manage them. The process of building a form in
HTML is simple.
It's the processing that is tricky for new builders. Which
part are you
referring to?

In what sense? Do you mean will CS3 work with the HTML
written by FWMX?
Yes. But this method is VERY sub-optimal, and will lead to
fragile page
structures. It's better to just use your graphics editor to
create your
graphics, and build the pages in DW. And do you mean
Photoshop PSD files?
But DW doesn't work with them anyhow....

Perhaps - but CS3 is very much more CSS-centric than MX was,
and you will
definitely need to ramp up your skills in that arena. On the
other hand, if
this is something you are serious about, that's a good thing
to do
anyhow....
