Upgrading from PS Elements to CS4 Photoshop Extended

I received my CS4 Design Premium yesterday. When I install it do I have to remove PS Eements? I have all of my photographs organized in PSE. What do you suggest using as an organizer.

You don't have to remove Elements, in fact it would be most inadvisable.
Bridge is the "organiser" with Photoshop but you will have to export your tags from Elements for PS to recognise them.
Even then I would keep Elements until you are happy with using CS4.

Don't try transferring Adobe software. It rarely works and usually breaks the activation mechanism (150:30 error).
Uninstall, run the Cleaner tool then re-install from scratch.

I want to upgrade from PS Elements 7 to CS4 on my PC running windows vista home premium 32bit,as anyone done this,if so are there any issues I may encounter.

There are no problems running CS4 if your computer meets the system requirements.
The only "issue" will be money issuing from your wallet!

Upgrade from PS Elements 6 to 11...where are the backgrounds, frames, ...etc?

I just upgraded from PS Elements 6 to 11. I am used to using some of the nice backgrounds, picture frames, lettering ...etc. that came with 6 in the Editor. I cannot find any of them under "Create" in 11. Are they gone? Is there another place to find them at Adobe? Pls help. I really miss them.

Well you need internet connection now, for one time atleast, to use those backgrounds, graphics, frames and themes.
In order to save the space on machines and reduce the download size of the software, Adobe has moved most of the content online. So if you have internet connected, just launch Editor, the thumbnails will start downloading in the background. So after some time you will see those items added in your "Graphics" panel.
But those are just the thumbnails (which will have a blue strip on the top right side). In order to use them you need to download each individually. Just double click on the one you want to use.and it will be downlaoded (Needless to say that you will need internet connection for this), and then it's your to use any no of times, because now it's in your local machine.
One Benefit - It save a lot of space on your system, because not use many use all the graphics.

Lost CS4 Photoshop Extended disk

I misplaced my CS4 Photoshop Extended installation disk and I need to install it on my new laptop. Where can I download this version? I have seen the link for Prodesign tools but I was concerned to use it because its not on Adobe's website.

The download links work fine. They're successfully used by people in these forums every day.
The secret is to follow the Steps 0 to 6 of the Very Important Instructions (which appear on every download page) first BEFORE you click the download links.

Is there a way to upgrade from the Elements 12 editor app to the full version? I misread something and accidentally downloaded the app and I really miss the content that I´m mostly using.

There are no student upgrades. Never have been, never will be. Your options are to either buy a new student verison or pay for the full retail upgrade price. That's always been Adobe's policy. If you are looking to jump on a cloud, then you need to contact Adobe sales for help.

Formatting lost following upgrade from Dreamweaver 3 to CS4

Hi there
I've recently upgraded from Dreamweaver 3 to CS4 but now find that quite a bit of my formatting has been altered, particularly with tables. Does anyone know if there's an easy way to remedy this throughout my site or do I have to go into every page and manually change font sizes etc?

Does upgrading from Premiere Elements 12 to 13 solve the Organizer thumbnail problem?

Thumbnails do not show up after importing clips into Premiere Elements 12 Organizer. I've tried right clicking on a clip and telling it to recreate the thumbnail but it doesn't work. I've tried refreshing and repairing the catalog. I've even started a new catalog and reimported the files. The system says it's creating thumbnails but they still do not show up. Does upgrading from Premiere Elements 12 to 13 solve the Organizer thumbnail problem?

That is one of those questions best answered by evaluating Elements Organizer13 with your specific files in your specific computer environment.
Each of the Elements Organizer versions often appears to carry along its own baggage.
One of the things that came up about Elements Organizer 13 thumbnails recently was a problem with files with MPEG2
video compression. The Adobe word on this was that this is only an Elements Organizer 13 tryout issue...supposed not to exist
in the purchased version.

Upgrading from Premiere Elements 7 to 9 - compatibility problems

I have recently upgraded Premiere Elements and Photoshop Elements from versions 7 to 9. In slideshows created in version 7 there is a problem in Premiere Elements version 9.   Perfectly OK in V7, when using the Sceneline to view a slideshow only part of the project can be seen. In a slideshow of 300 slides, when scrolling right as far as it will go, only the first 60 or so slides can be seen. I have contacted Adobe support but their "solutions" have made no difference.
Can anyone help?

They did not seem to understand the problem.   I sent them a screen print
but I still did not receive a reasonable solution. They asked me to
download another version of NVIDIA, change the Premiere preferences, change the
3D settings, switch off GPU playback, recreate PluginCaches, disable
graphics hardware acceleration.   All of this had not affect on the problem
whatsoever. I have also reinstalled Premiere Elements twice - no effect!
In the past I have had versions 5 and 7 with no problems with the
upgrades.   Upgrading from 7 to 9 has been very problematical and I will think
twice before upgrading again in the future. I think that there is a problem
with Premiere Elements itself and all this interfering with graphics software
is a waste of time and "passing the buck".

Upgrade from CS3 Windows to CS4 Macintosh

it's going to look weird and like a question coming back from a few years ago but it would help me a lot if any one had the answer...
I have a WebDesign Premium CS3 for Windows and an upgrade from any CS3 to Design Premium CS4 for Macintosh.
But, the CS4 set up assistant doesn't accept the serial number from the CS3...
I know that you can cross-upgrade to CS5 with a regular upgrade but is it the same with former versions ?

You can cross-grade from different versions, but you need to give sign documentation from Adobe that you have destroyed the disks. The reason you may have had trouble and why you still may have trouble with a cross-grade is that when you buy an upgrade there are different upgrade disks that MUST be used depending upon the software you are upgrading from. Before you start, you might be best off calling customer service with your two serial numbers and see what is what. You want to make sure you buy an upgrade that will work.

How to upgrade from Acrobat 9 Standard to Pro Extended?

Can it be done in one step? It looks like I have to upgrade from Standard to Pro, and then from Pro to Pro Extended. Seems like a pain, but it does look like it costs $300 less than buying a full version of Pro Extended.
If this is what I have to do, do I have to actually download and install Pro, and then download and install Pro Extended on top of that?

Will upgrading from Snow Leopard "break" CS4 or Lightwave 10, etc. on my Macbook Pro?

I'm still relativlly unfamiliar with Macs and had a fairly simple question: If I upgrade from OSX 10.6.8 (MacBookPro5,2) to Mountain Lion, will any of my already installed programs (Adobe CS4 programs, Lightwave 10, Corel Painter 11, etc.) be affected or have issues with the newer OS? Should I be asking the individual software makers or perhaps a different Apple forum?

Upgrade from LR2 to LR4 - Have Photoshop CS5 Extended - LR adjustments now lost with RAW files

I have:
Windows 7 64bit
Lots of ram
Lots of disk space
Lots of everything
I have CS5 Photoshop and LR2 - and all works perfectly. I import my RAW files from my Canon 5d2 - and I can edit and adjust - then if I need to export to PS to make further adjustments before saving back to LR. Nice and easy like it should be.
I've installed LR4 as an upgrade to LR2.
Now when I edit my files in LR - and then want to tweak a bit more in PS - when I 'edit in> photoshop' I get my original file - not my edited file, which is very frustrating.
I want to be able to operate like LR2 - make some edits - then off to PS - then back before any final edits,
Why has it changed? And when will we get it back to editing the file with the adjustments built in?

I've already installed ACR 6.7 - and that's helped a little - and I now get the edited file - but not the whole edited file..
So if I crop - that edit carries over..
If I adjust exposutre - that edit carries over...
If I change one of the 'new' settings like 'blacks' - that doesn't carry over...
