Upgrading from QT to QT Pro

Good morning.
If I upgrade the QT that came with my mini to QT pro, should I delete the version on my mini now and install or will it upgrade the version currently on my system?
Thanks.

QuickTime Pro is not a separate version of QuickTime, so there's no download for it and there's no need to reinstall anything. When you purchase Pro, you get a key code which you enter into your existing QuickTime preferences. That enables the various Pro features of QuickTime Player and the QuickTime plugin.

Call Apple and make a appointment.
You have 3 months of care and up to 3 years with paid AppleCare, let them handle it and bring everything in.

  • Can't upgrade from PDF pack to Pro

I am trying to upgrade from Adobe PDF Pack to Acrobat Pro and I get an error message saying "Unable to complete request" and then a link to come here...

Done! You'll see a credit of 8.66 for the canceled subscription, and a charge of 31.64 for the new one. You should be able to log on to your account at www.adobe.com and download Acrobat Pro.
I noticed you also have an ExportPDF subscription, which you really don't need now that you have Acrobat. Would you like me to cancel that for you as well?

  • Upgrade from macbook to macbook Pro: How to move UNIX programs?

I am thinking of upgrading from my intel macbook to a C2D macbook Pro. I know that I can use the migration assistant to move all my User files and Applications over to the new machine. But, is there a way to move all my installed UNIX programs, such as TeX and other libraries/programs that I installed with Fink?
If I just mirror the old drive to the new one, will that work? I'd like to have exactly the same setup on the new machine as the old one.
    Thanks, Josh

Ok, so it is my understanding that the new C2D MBP's come with 10.4.8 build 8N1037. My 1st gen macbook has 10.4.8 build 8L2127. I read a blog by Jason D. O'Grady that describes moving from a 1st gen MBP to a C2D MBP with the same OS build discrepancy. He states that by using the install disks from the new MBP to update the OS on the old MBP he can just swap the harddrives:
"Although the new MeBook ships with Mac OS 10.4.8 installed it is a different build (8N1037) than the build that is installed on my previous MBP (8L2127). For this reason you need to use the install DVDs that come with the MeBook and upgrade the OS on the donor HDD (still in the original MBP) before the swap. Allow about 30 minutes for this process and use the time to take apart the receiving MBP."
    http://blogs.zdnet.com/Apple/?p=325
So, following this logic, can I do the following ?!? :
    1. I buy a new MBP
    2. Put the new install DVD into my old macbook and update the OS to the new build
    3. Use SuperDuper (my backup program of choice) to mirror my old HD onto the new HD
    4. Seamlessly update from the macbook to the MBP and live happily ever after
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Upgrading from Acrobat 6.0 Pro to Acrobat XI Pro

My company recently upgraded from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 Pro.  We have our old copy of Acrobat 6.0 and it is not compatible with Windows 7.  I was wondering since we cannot load Acrobat 6.0 onto our computers in order to receive the upgrade. I do I go about purchasing the Upgrade price, since we have version 6.0 already?

    Hi ETA Engineer
Acrobat 6 users are not eligible for Acrobat XI upgarde.
Please refer the below KB Doc for upgarde policies : http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/buying-guide-upgrade-pricing.html

  • Upgrade from iMac to Mac Pro - RAID5 options?

I am currently using a 27" iMac 2.66 Ghz Core i5 for my main processing needs (RAW image file editing in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop plus HDSLR footage editing in Final Cut) and am feeling constrained by my storage options (I don't like external enclosures but want a separate boot/apps drive from my media drive) so my only logical upgrade path is a Mac Pro.
My ideal solution would be to have a lightning fast boot/apps drive (SSD seems obvious choice) and then a RAID5 array of 3 large (2TB) drives to give me at least 4GB of media storage.
The problem is that when I go to spec a Mac Pro with a hardware RAID card (because I understand that software RAID under Disk Utility can only offer RAID0 or RAID1), I am told by the web configuration tool: "Solid-state drives are not compatible with the Mac Pro RAID Card in either RAID or Enhanced JBOD mode."
What I would like to know is whether this is an absolute technical limitation or is it just something that Apple does not officially support? This would be my main production machine so I don't want to implement any hacks.
P.S. reason for my current dislike of enclosures is the extra cables/space/noise/heat they generate and also the current debate over interfaces (would like to use eSATA or USB3 to get fastest transfer speeds).
Thanks in advance for any replies!

    3 drives to me = RAID3
Apple Pro RAID card: find a good external - threads discussing options - look at AMUG reviews and elsewhere. CalDigit or something. Maybe RAID6 capability.
I would use internal drives in software RAID0.
And the only interface for external, SATA only cases, none of these consumer cases for multi interface, though OWC has a popular RAID5 4 drive setup you might like.
Use OWC SSD or two for system, and 3 x 2TB WD Black RAID0. No trouble with that. Just lots and lots of clones and backups is all.

  • Upgraded from MB to MB Pro - Change name?

I recently upgraded from a MB (white) to a MB Pro,
Luckily I had a FULL Time Capsule back-up... which worked perfectly... new MB Pro sucked up all my data/settings etc... COOL !
I'd now like to change my MB Pro's name from "My MacBook" to "My MacBook Pro"... is this possible?
    Thanks

    That was easy...

  • Problems connecting to the internet after Upgrade from windows 8.1 pro

Cant connect to the internet after upgrading to windows 8.1 pro, what can i do to rectify this problem?
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can also try to install the older version in compatible mode:
Windows 8.1 Wifi showing "limited" or "No Internet Access"
Solution: revert your network adapter driver back to an older version
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/dennis_schnell/archive/2013/08/31/windows-8-1-wifi-showing-quot-limitied-quot-or-quot-no-internet-access-quot.aspx
In addition, disable power management on your network driver:
    Open Network and Sharing Center.
Click the Change adapter settings link in the upper left of the navigation pane.
Right click the network connection you want to enable/disable power management support on and click Properties .
    Click Configure .
On the Power Management tab, clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.
If the issue still persists, please upload the event log for our research:

  • Need advise: upgrade from 7.1.6 (Pro) to 7.4.5

    Hello.
In the past there have been times when upgrading led to a desperate need to downgrade. I have been very happy with 7.1.6 Pro for some time now and don't want to fix what ain't broke.
(same goes for iTunes. I have 7.1.1 and am reluctant to move away from it to current versions)
So what I'm asking is: any opinions, advise about leaving QT 7.1.6 behind; and if I do upgrade, can I jump all the way to 7.4.5, or do I need to do it incrementally?
(I am in Mac OS 10.4.11, using a Mac Pro. No immediate plans to go to Leopard.)
    nÔÔdle--hëad

Newer version of QuickTime allow the newer features in iTunes be used (movie rentals and such).
If you don't need them and are happy where you are then stay there.
You don't need to update incrementally and your Pro status will remain after the upgrade.

  • Upgrading from free version to Pro

I have made a mistake. I purchased the upgrade to Quicktime Pro online PRIOR to downloading the free version. Now, I have downloaded the free veersion, and when I click on "upgrade" it leads to the credit card form screen where I would have to purchase it again. I already have my registration code from the initial purchase, but can not find a way to use it to do my upgrade.
    Any clues? Thank you

I am having the similar problem.
It goes all the way through and looks like it is installed then you go to play it and it does not load it just says loading. When I go back and check registration the problem is the registration code has gone. Can anyone help me please.

  • I've upgraded from PC to MacBook Pro and iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4 - HELP!!!

I am currently using a PC and have my iPhone 3GS synced to that unit.
I decided to upgrade my PC to a MacBook Pro two days ago and have received my new iPhone 4 today.
My question is – how am I able to get my current iPhone 3GS back up that is on my PC on to my new MacBook pro so that I can sync my music/contacts/notes/messages etc to my new iPhone 4?
I have avoided syncing my current iPhone 3GS to the new MacBook as I knew I would be receiving my iPhone 4 this week.
Please help – Losing my iPhone data is not an option as I have extremely important contacts/text messages that I need to keep for legal reasons. I really do not want to have to lose all of my data because I have upgraded and purchased better technology from your company.

    I found this article:
    http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/moving-your-itunes-library-to -a-new-hard-drive/
but I don't know if it's got everything you that need. I think that your phone's back-up is in the files listed in the article, but I'm still a newbie myself, and so far, this is the closest fitting article that I've found. I wish I could be more assistance, I hope that article is of some help. You might want to try running a search here... there's a box to the right which will search all the discussions for the keywords you've included. I'm pretty bleary-eyed, so I may have missed a better hit than this one.
Hopefully a more experienced user will log in later this morning and see this... good luck!
