Upgrading from Siebel Analytics 7.8.5 to OBIEE 10.1.3.x

your help is highly appreciable.
we are having Siebel Analytics 7.8.5 and we plan to go for obiee 10g.
1) Is there any standard upgrade checklist available?
2) will the informatica also get upgraded automatically and DAC
3) are there any standard document which I need to refer?

Yes, this is a normal procedure. It'll automatically overwrite anything. You'll just need to copy your webcat and RPD (don't forget to open RPD in new admin version and then save it - so it's upgraded as well)

Upgrading from Siebel 8.0.1.1 to 8.1.1.2

Hey guys,
I'm trying to upgrade my Siebel Application from 8.0.1.1 to 8.1.1.2 and I have found a site that recommends to download the patch 9318567 but when going to the Oracle Support site the platforms show Microsoft Windows(32-bit) We have our application in Windows Server Enterprise Edition and I can't find the patches for it on the Oracle Support site. So could anyone help me with my problem please? And I noticed that the description of one of the patches is SEBL_ARU so I'm wondering what does the ARU stand for because maybe it can help with my problem or not I'm not sure. If not then if anyone knows where can I get the patch for upgrading to 8.1.1.2 would really help.

Sorry, due to security and legal reasons, attachments are not supported on this forum so I cannot provide a screenshot.
If you look on the right top corner of the patch dashboard in Flash mode, you will notice a dropdown by default set to value Oracle Solaris on SPARC , just click on the arrow and you will get linux, windows 32, AIX and so on.
If you do not find in the list ,let me know what OS you are searching.

Creating siebel image file for Siebel Patch 7.8.2.16 to upgrade from Siebel 7.8.2.14

I new to installing Siebel Patch 7.8.2.16 for Microsoft Windows 2003 Servers, Mobile Web Client. We are currently running Siebel version : 7.8.2.14 on 7.8.2.14 SIA [19251] ENU patch applied. We need to install upgrade to Siebel 7.8.2.16 to install QF0E26 for an issue with MVG popup. What is the best practice to create Siebel image file from Siebel CD which has multiple JAR files on CD media for Siebel CD Media pack sent to me. Let me know if you need additional details. Thanks for using Oracle communities.
You need to download installables for 7.8.2.16 SIA. Follow below instructions to download:
1) Login to My oracle support through your credentials
2) Go to tab 'Patches & Updates'
3) Enter patch number as '11687049' in 'Patch Name or Number' field and click on search.
4) Download patch for Windows.
Once you download, you need to use Image Creator Utility to generate an Installation image.

Migrating to OBIEE from Siebel Analytics v7.8.5

We're looking to migrate our Siebel Analytics environment to OBIEE. Does anyone know of any documentation on this? Would our existing RPDs and webcats be usable or at least importable?

Upgrade from Siebel 8.1.1.3 to Siebel 8.1.1.10

Hi All,
Current Siebel 8.1.1.3 environment is in Windows 2003 Server (32-bit) and planning to upgrade to Siebel 8.1.1.10 in new OS Windows 2008 R2 Server (64-bit) with Open UI enabled. I have gathered all required information for upgrading this whole environment.
- Siebel apps will still be 32-bit application.
- Siebel enterprise can be installed on 64-bit with IIS 7.5 (with 32-bit compatibility)
I plan to do this:
a. Take a clone of existing Siebel 8.1.1.3 database and name it "UpgradeDB"
b. Install Siebel 8.1.1 in the new Windows 2008 R2 Server (64-bit)
c. Install Siebel tools/Client 8.1.1 in windows XP (32-bit)
d. connect to the cloned database "UpgradeDB"
e. Apply Siebel 8.1.1.10 patch upon existing 8.1.1
f. Execute IRM
g... rest of the steps as mentioned in the bookshelf.
My question is: Should I install all the patches after 8.1.1 upto 8.1.1.9 to get a successful upgrade to 8.1.1.10?
or
Can I directly install 8.1.1.10 upon Siebel 8.1.1?
If the plan above is not correct, please help!

All the enhancements and fixes from 8.1.1 to 8.1.1.9 will be available with 8.1.1.10.
Installing the 8.1.1.10 patch and executing IRM (If you intend to use Open UI and new features included from the Siebel CRM version 8.2.2.4 innovation pack)
are sufficient to do successful upgrade.
Instead of cloning and connecting to the DB you could create a restore point and use it when needed. Always keep a level 0 cold backup before making any changes to the database
as part of pre-upgrade tasks.

Upgrade Siebel Analytics 7.8.2 RPD to BI Applications 7.9.6.1 RPD

We are upgrading from Siebel Analytics 7.8.2 version to BI Applications 7.9.6.1 version. The Siebel Analytics RPD is customized and having custom catalogs which are based on Pharma tables and the Core model is not at all customized. So, I have followed the steps specified in section 'Upgrading the Oracle BI Repository for Industry-Specific Analytics Applications' of Upgrade guide. Its known that there are some datawarehouse changes occurred between these versions. One of these changes are,
W_ORG_D of Siebel 7.8.2 is replaced with W_PARTY_ORG_D in BI Apps 7.9.6.1,
W_PERSON_D of Siebel 7.8.2 is replaced with W_PARTY_PER_D in BI Apps 7.9.6.1.
In order to upgrade the RPD we need to make use of MAP file that comes with the installation of BI Apps 7.9.6.1. For this process I'm using the map file rename782-796.map while equilizing the RPDs. But I dont find any information related to the above schema changes in the map file even though they are Oracle shipped ones. So, after doing some analysis I have listed the Alias tables created on top of W_ORG_D in 7.8.2 RPD and similarly in 7.9.6.1 RPD and specified the mapping information of these Alias tables in existing MAP file. Equlized the RPDs using the modified MAP file and done the merge process. But I'm observing some issues like the merged RPD is having both W_ORG_D and W_PARTY_ORG_D tables in all the three layers. Can I get any help on fixing this issue.

We are also planning to upgrade Siebel Analytics 782+Infa 712+DAC to OBIEE 101341+ Bi Apps 7962+Infa861+DAC101341. We are using Sales Analytics module. Have a few questions regarding this situation:
1. After upgrading SA 782 to OBIEE 101341, we got a seeded rpd for BIApps 7962, but we also have a SA 782 rpd which has been customized with some changes. I have seen the Repository upgrade steps mentioned in Upgrade guide for Informatica Power Center User and it has the process of Equalizing the rpds and merging. If I use this will I be getting my customization's merged in to the out of box BI Apps rpd under the same business model?
What would be the best way to merge these two rpds, two way merge and keep the business models seperate or try to redo the customization in the new rpd?
2. For DAC, does all customization's have to be moved manually into the 101341 or can be exported?
3. For Informatica while upgrading the repository to 861, does the repository from version 712 has to be restored into the same database schema as the out of box 861 repository? Or restore the old 712 repository into a new database schema, upgrade the content and use the Informatica Repository manager tool to copy the custom folder s from old repository to out of box repository is enough?

ESB SOAPAction from Siebel

Hi all,
I´m having problem with Siebel Outbound Web Service integration with Oracle ESB.
Basically, Siebel doesn´t send soapAction to ESB, and then ESB throw an exception (java.lang.NullPointerException - not very clear....).
I have imported Siebel WSDL to ESB, and it´s working just fine accessing directly WS endpoint. But Siebel can´t because it doesnt send into HTTP header soapAction to WS.
Please someone with any knowledge in Siebel WS/ESB could help me!!!

Can siebel analytics 7.8.2 and obiee 10.1.3.4.1 be installed on the same machine? Can I have 2 separate folders Siebel Analytics and Siebel analyticsdata for 7.8.2 installation and OracleBI and OracleBIdaata folders for the 10.3.4.1. installation?

Siebel 8.1.1.8 upgrade from 8.1.1.0 - host with multiple components

Hi all,
I'm running some tests of an update from Siebel SIA 8.1.1.0 to 8.1.1.8 in preparation for a Production upgrade. Our entire estate is Windows based, currently running Windows Server 2008. The update is not working as I expected.
On one machine I have the Gateway and a Siebel Server (Object Manager). On another machine, I have a Siebel Server (eDocument).
- Upgrading the single server (eDocument) using the new OUI installer seems to work fine
- Upgrading the host with Gateway AND Siebel Server (Object Manager) seems to fail - where a DLL exists in both Gateway AND Server (i.e. sssaadmn.dll), only the Gateway DLL gets updated
The result is that the Siebel Server (Object Manager) on the same host as the Gateway fails to start, with 'cannot load xxx.dll' appearing throughout the server and component logs. The single server (eDocument) seems to start fine with all components showing as 'Running' and visible through srvrmgr.
Has anyone performed an update with the 8.1.1.8 OUI based installers and had a similar problem? Any idea how to resolve?

Hi all,
Looks like OUI can't cope with files with the Windows 'read only' attribute set. It will simply skip them altogether, without error. :(
Anyway, unsetting the read only attribute across the SBA81 folder, prior to running the upgrade, seems to have resolved the problem for us.

Can anyone provide the steps needs to be done in order to fix the broken images?

Call them using fmap
Syntax: fmap:images/imagename.imageformat
