Upgrading from trial ... lost trial licence key

I have a trial version of Aperture 3. My 30-day trial expired some time ago. Today I purchased a serial number from the Apple Store, selecting the option to upgrade from a trial version. When I enter the activation key, Aperture throws up a message saying "You have entered an upgrade serial number. Please enter your original serial number". ARGGGH ... I have a trial key obtained in Feb 2010 but it does not work. It may not be the trial key that I used on this particular machine.
I thought perhaps I could remove the serial number Aperture is using on my computer then I could obtain a new trial license then I ought to be able to upgrade with my new purchased key. But I don't know how to remove the serial number. I see advice in previous posts to delete a file located in Library/Application Support/ProApps/Apperture. But there is no folder named Aperture in the ProApps folder. Is the license key now found somewhere else??
McCult

did you enter your first full version serial number (from Version 1 or version 2)
it isn't an upgrade from the trial version it is upgrade from a previous full version.
if you don't have a full version you need to pay the full $ 199 US

  • Upgrading from Aperture 2: Trial or Buy?

I already ordered Aperture 3 as an upgrade and am waiting for the box to arrive in a few days. Is it safe to download the trial in the meantime and upgrade or should I wait for the box? I seem to remember that when Aperture 2 came out there was a problem with switching from the trial-version to the real thing.

I think the correct answer is to download the trial. When you launch the trial it will ask you if you want to buy the software. In that case you don't need to order the box. Unfortunately I ordered Aperture 3 Upgrade from Apple Store before launching the trial (great faith in Apple) so now I just need to wait for the box. I wonder why they can't say at Apple Store that you can also order the download without the box... Not possible to use the trial with the existing Aperture Library - it will only allow a trial library.

  • Upgrading From The Free Trial The Cheaper Way!!

    Hi,
I've currently have Aperture 3 running well within the 30 day trial period. I've imported 9000 plus photo's from my iPhoto library and busy moving them into nice folders, and organising them in a better way that iPhoto could do. I like Aperture and really want to upgrade but this is my question.
To upgrade via the upgrade link it's gonna cost me £169 but if I choose another online retailer I could get it slightly cheaper. The latter method I presume comes boxed etc.
Anyway how would I install the new version to preserve my library and the changes / arrangements I've made?
If the boxed version comes with a serial number then could I just enter it in the trial version when I get the dialogue box pop up to buy at the start? If it does not have a serial number would I have to remove the trial Aperture and then install the new and keep the Library intact?
I have experimented removing the trial by finding the Application in the Finder window and putting in the trash and then putting back on which worked. Only thing is it did not ask for the trial serial number on reinstall so I don't know if it was completely removed by simple dumping it in the bin!
Anyone done this? Does the new full version come with a serial number or is it like iWorks which if I remember right does not have one.
    Regards
    Charlie

The trial version is the full version. The differences are:
    - the "boxed" version comes with some sample projects populated with photos.
    - the "trial" will expire if the serial number isn't entered
    - while in "trial" mode, there are some things it wont let you do... mostly for safety. E.g. I seem to recall there are some library migration / conversions that it wont let you do until it's licensed. But that's mostly because they don't give you a way to "undo" it so they want to make sure you perpetually own the license first.
    I think that's about it.
As for un-install by dragging to trash... this would only delete the application binaries, which is about 99% of it. It keeps the license key file in /Library/Application Support/ProApps -- so deleting the binary doesn't delete the license key (which is why pulling it out of trash didn't prompt you to re-enter the key.)
Deleting also does not touch your Aperture "Library" which contains all the meta-data (e.g. descriptions of all projects, what they contain, ratings, adjustments, etc.) and any photos which you import as "managed' (e.g. "Store in the Aperture Library" was selected when you did the import) are, of course, in the Aperture Library. The Library can easily be renamed. In fact... you can technically have more than one library -- though you can only use one at a time.
Lastly, there's some .plist (preference list) files under your home folder's ~/Library/Application Support/Aperture and ~/Library/Preferences.

  • Cannot upgrade from iwork 08 trial to iwork 09

I'm a little late upgrading my system from the trial version of 08.  I purchased the full version of 09 but it won't take the serial number/registration code I got at checkout.  Please help!!!

You can't apply a serial number you got for iWork '09 to the iWork '08 trial. If you bought the serial number since the release of iWork '09 in January, 2009, you will have received an iWork '09 serial number even if you purchased it from within an iWork '08 app. Download the iWork '09 trial & use your serial number in that.

  • Upgrade from Ps CC Trial to Purchased Ps CC not working

About two months ago I downloaded the Photoshop CC Trial. Last week I purchased the Photoshop/Lightroom combo. Lightroom I downloaded and it works fine, however, everytime I go to launch Ps CC it tells me that my trial has expired. I have attempted multiple uninstalls and installs and I am still having the same issue. I even uninstalled every Adobe program on my machine and reinstalled and that didn't work either.
    I am running OSX 10.9.2
If anyone knows of a solution to this problem, that would be great.
    Thanks,
    Sam

  • Upgrading from a 30day trial license to a  Customer license.

    Hi everyone,
During the initial install and setup we used the 30-day license, now that all of our processing is complete with SAP and our office, what do we need to fulfill E-commerce WebCrm license. In the license request it ask for SAP owner and ID#.
I'm not sure what you want.
    Please Help
    Thanks
    Chester

    Hi Chester,
You can just return to the licenserequest.aspx page and enter the details for a new request and choose single server from the license type dropdown. Its the page that initially appears when hitting the site for the first time after install, and it also shows if no license can be found.
Customer number is just that, a 6 digit customer number used to verify the sale.

  • After upgrading to CS5 lost the backspace key...

Sorry, but could not find a thread with this annoyance.
Simply, this key dissapeared and to delete a frame I need now to use the cut key...
    Thank you.

I think you need to keep dreaming
I'm not a programmer, but from looking at my own files, here's what I think happens:
If you copy your shortcuts file into the CS5 folder, you will lose any of the CS5shortcuts that are not included in it. For instance, there is a shortcut for selecting the Gap tool in CS5, and that's not in the CS4 shortcuts. So, if you use your CS4 shortcuts, you'll lose those keys.
I'm guessing that when you make a custom set from the InDesign dialog box, it copies all of the default shortcuts into that set, and then adds or changes whatever you add or change. But if you start from a CS4 shortcut set, you will lose some of the default settings. So, you need to start with a CS5 shortcut set, and then add or replace your own shortcuts. Unfortunately, this will be tedious because you want to make sure that anything you add replaces the corresponding shortcut from the default settings. So you can't just paste them all in at once.
I guess this is why there is no "load shortcuts" button . . . I bet someone knows a way to compare the two files and look for lines where the <action-id value= . . . lines match up. Then you could copy and paste those. But this may be more trouble than it's worth.
The other option is to just print out a list of all your shortcuts and then go back and recreate them in Indesign. Probably the safest  bet - but, if Adobe wants us to upgrade every 18 months, it would certainly be nice if they gave us a better way to do this!

  • Upgraded from Tiger - Lost all Calendars

I upgraded (Archive and Install) from Tiger where I had about 10 calendars. None of them appear in the new Leopard iCal. This is despite the fact I can see all the data files have been placed in the appropriate Leopard Library folders: Calendars and Application Support > iCal. (None of the iCal files remain in the "Previous Systems" folder that is created when one does an archive and install upgrade.) Though using the Spotlight search method advised by other contributors will work, it's too laborious to do for all my calendars. (The events that do appear for a given calendar are in a different color to what I'd previously used, showing that the preferences were lost - even though no iCal preference files remain in the aforementioned "Previous Systems" folder. There must be an easier way?

Question has been answered. To solve my problem I needed to log out of .Mac through my system preferences. From there, delete all mail accounts from Mail and close out Mail. Go back into system preferences, log into .Mac and check the sync settings. Then do a manual sync to sync everything to my MacBook Pro. This solved my issue because when I originally set up my sync settings after upgrading to Leopard, it never did sync all of my info. This time around it did.

  • Photoshop CS4 Extended- change from PC to Mac and a lost licence key.

    Hi,
I have been trying to get into adobe chat to ask these two questions, however it always comes up with an 'chat is unavailable' and I'm unsure of where else to turn- as there is no email contact and no number.
I bought Photoshop CS4 Extended (Student edition) a few years ago and got a disk which i have been using on all my pc computers (deactivating old computers and re-activting new ones), However i have now changed to Mac- and the disk will not load on the mac as it is set for windows. I have then tried to download, CS4 online- but my licence key comes up with a red cross and it will not be accepted. I have looked at other chats and looked at different sites to download the cs4 (and apparently the extended cs4) however i can never find the right download or its just a read me pdf document.
I just want my CS4 photoshop on my new mac computer and unsure how to get it.
Secondly i lost a licence key when one of my family computers died- and have only had one licence key since then. I'm just wondering is there a way to get this back?rent
Is there a different way to contact adobe? Chat just doesn't seem to work for me- and i would love to get these two questions cleared up.
    Thanks,
    Rachael

Prior to the subscription models—and of course that includes CS4—the Photoshop license was platform specific, either Windows or Mac, but not both.  Your CS4 Windows serial number ("key") will never work on the Mac version.
CS4 is out of the loop as far as requesting a platform swap for a nominal fee.  It is no longer supported by Adobe in any way. A platform swap required the destruction of your PC version, so you could not use both the PC and the Mac versions.
For a time, you could have used CS4 to upgrade to CS6 for about $200, but that time window has closed by now.  Now you would have to own a legitimate version of CS5 in order to be eligible to buy an upgrade to CS6.
You can of course buy the full version of Photoshop CS6 Extended for $1,000 from the Adobe store:
    Creative Suite 6
Alternatively, you can subscribe to Photoshop CC and Photoshop CC2014  on a monthly basis without ever owning the software.  If you stop paying monthly, the software ceases to work.
The cheapest subscription is the Photography plan, which includes both Photoshop and Lightroom for $10 a month.

  • Upgrade from Trial

    Hi,
I'm thinking of installing the Windows 8.1 Enterprise 90 Day Trial on my laptop. After the evaluation period has passed, will I have the option to upgrade to a full license, and at what cost? Can I upgrade from the Enterprise Trial to another edition of
Windows 8.1, like Windows 8.1 Pro or the standard edition, or would this require a new installation?
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
Yes you can upgrade to full license version.. to buy a licensed copy:-

Not sure why the adobe email bounces, but they probably can't get you anything more than a contact for a reseller anyhow.

  • I just purchased the upgrade from trial to full version. It does not work. It asks for my orginal serial key and when I paste in the trial key it says invalid??

Downloaded trial and then purchased the activate the full version option. The activation keys don't work. It wants an 'original' key. When I use the trial key it rejects it as invalid! Have I just been robbed of 75 quid?

    lanceblack,
You know, I had seen your similar post in other forum with same issue. This itself is confusing for other participants including myself to keep track of forum discussion regarding same issue.
It would be nice if you keep your issue in proper forum in one place, less confusion for others.
Corky02 said better than I did yesterday. I am not quite sure why or what impresssion that you'd easily upgrade from try-out app into full-license. For many people are aware that what it means or what does this having to do with upgrading qualification with any applications. Why did you think you would get to upgrade that easily from trail try out app to licensed one?
I don't think the Apple's ads are misleading. I just think you got yourself confused. Sorry I can't help you. IF I am Apple employee, I would love to help you and get this resolved for you. I am just one of those participants helping others.
Once again, I am sorry that you get your view all wrong and lead into thinking that you are entitled to do so. But you need to understand that once if you had purchased a full license app from try-out app. Most people know what does that mean with try out app for the first time. And most people know that if they wish to purchase an application, this means purchasing a boxed (or electronic downloaded file) from Apple retail store (or online store). Plus, new venue at Apple offering Mac App store. I think that is a little confusion for some people who are not familiar with the difference.
I do believe that if you purchase from Mac App store, it doesn't require to put in license serial number. I think it is a different approach for some reason. I had bought some other Mac apps (not Aperture) from Mac App store few times. I haven't purchased Aperture updated version straight from Mac App store online. I bought mine from Apple retail store in Canada in person.
I still don't understand why you still think Apple is misleading you all the way. I don't think it is. In case if you haven't notice... there is way for you to get in touch with Apple called Apple Support Express Lane. Give it a try.

  • Upgrade from trial pages to licenced

i have recently purchased pages from the app store, but im unable to upgrade from trial to licenced, i recieved email but no licence number can anybody tell me how to retrieve my licence number please.

Mark is correct; apps from the Mac App Store do not have licenses codes. He's also correct that you will need to completely uninstall iWork:
    http://www.freeforum101.com/iworktipsntrick/viewtopic.php?t=105&mforum=iworktips ntrick
and then go to the Purchases section of the Mac App Store and download Pages again. That should then work.

  • Upgrading from Trial version to Developer Edition

We installed SQL server 2014 trial edition in 2014 and the trial period just expired. No longer access SQL server 2014. Also in 2014 I purchased the SQL server 2014 Developer Edition.
I go in the maintenance section of SQL server 2014 and try to upgrade by entering my product key and get an error message that my product key is not valid. I called Microsoft and two different employees confirmed my product key is good.
Should I be able to upgrade from Trial version to Developer Edition by simply entering my product key?
    Thank you

    Hi cguay01,
As other post, you should be able to upgrade from Trial Edition to Developer Edition by entering product key from SQL Server setup wizard, you can follow the steps in this similar
blog. You can also use the following command lines to upgrade SQL Server 2014 Trial to a full version.
    Setup.exe /q /ACTION=editionupgrade /INSTANCENAME=<MSSQLSERVER or instancename> /PID=<PID key for new edition>" /IACCEPTSQLSERVERLICENSETERMS
According to your description, the issue that “product key is not valid” might be caused by several reasons such as corrupted installation file, antivirus scanning and so on. There are some proposals for you troubleshooting this issue.
    1. Please ensure that your SQL Server installation file is not corrupted. If you are using ISO download, please copy the content of the ISO image to the local disk on your computer and upgrade SQL Server from there.
    2. Make sure you use corresponding license key matched the edition and version of SQL Server.
    3. Make sure that you don’t exceed the limit of allowed activations of the product key.
    4. Turn off any Anti-virus software when upgrading SQL Server.

  • After "upgrading" from trial to FCPX 10.0.3 multi cam does not work

After "upgrading" from trial to FCPX 10.0.3, multi cam does not work anymore. Everything was fine in the trial version, but now the multicam clip I made in trail is shown, but not with the 4 windows, only the first angle can be seen. And I can not find (import) the cuts I made in the trail. The settings are the same in both versions. Am I missing something? Is it possible that I have to start from scratch and all work is lost?
When I double click the multi cam clip I see all four angles in the timeline, one underneath the other...
    Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

The latest three are video podcasts and go into great depth concerning the new Multicam in 10.0.3
