Upgrading frrom CR 8.5 to 11

Hello, I recently upgraded from Cyrstal Reports 8.5 to Crystal Reports 11.  I have several pieces that are breaking the build.  These code pieces worked when 8.5 was installed, but now they break the comile.  I am using VB6.  Here is a sample of the code.
    frmMain.rptGeneral.Destination = crptToFile
    frmMain.rptGeneral.PrintFileType = crptExcel50
    frmMain.rptGeneral.WindowState = crptMaximized
crptToFile, crptExcel50 and crptMaximized are breaking the build.  Is there some reference that I need to include or maybe something else to keep this from breaking my build?  Thanks.

Hello Mark,
The code you've listed in your post is for the old Crystl32.ocx (OCX) control.  The OCX was retired after Crystal Reports 8.5.  If you want to remain with Visual Basic 6 you will have to migrate to the Report Designer Component (RDC).  The RDC is a more fully featured ActiveX control.
Here are a number of links on our website to documents that will show you how to migrate from the OCX to the RDC.  Most of these documents were written for CR9, but still apply to CR XI.  CR9, CR10, and CR XI /XI R2 are essentially same.  You will probably have to adjust references to the CR XI/XI R2 references (with slightly different names than the CR9 references).
The RDC is a fairly mature development tool so most issues (passing parameters, logging onto a database, etc.) have been covered in our knowledge base.  Please be sure to visit the kbase for solutions.  You can get to our kbase by visiting http://technicalsupport.businessobjects.com.
The last big change to the RDC happened with the release of CR9.  We added a query engine layer to take better advantage of native database drivers.  This means the database connection code has changed.  Any database connection code references you find in any CR8.5 samples will not work.  I posted a link below on how to use the new Connection Properties method for CR9/10/XI/XIR2.

Most of the samples were written for CR8.5.  They will work with CR XI/XI R2, but need to be updated to use the correct references.
I wanted to also note that the RDC itself has been retired.  The RDC is not shipped with our current release - Crystal Reports 2008.  Since you're going to have to migrate your application anyway it would probably be a good idea to consider moving to the Crystal Reports .NET SDK instead.
