*Hello, Can Somebody Help me, my Ibook G3 12" Dual USB 800Mhz and ram 640Mb have only CD room, but i want to upgrade into a DVD room ( or CD-RW - DVD).*
*I found something Interesting on Ebay, and its cheaper too, but this kind of DVD it's took from Ibook G4.*
*So before i buy this DVD room, anybody can suggest me if this DVD will work with my Ibook G3..*

Hi, and welcome to Apple Discussions.
Not easily, no. The optical drive in an iBook G4 is a slot-loading drive, whereas the iBook G3 (Dual USB) has a tray-loading drive.
Some professionals are able to do the modification, but it's beyond the ability of almost anyone else.
If you want DVD capability, the easiest thing to do is to buy another iBook with a DVD drive already installed.

Export from FCP directly into DVD studio pro?

Is it possible to export from FCP directly into DVD studio pro? If not, what is the preferred file format because my exported quicktime files come up as "incompatible format" when I try to add them into my DVD project. Any help is appreciated.

You need to encode audio as well from Compressor. You'll have 2 files - audio and video.

Export sequence of still images (JPGs, TIFFs) from FCP timeline into DVD without interlaced issues using Compressor

Hi,
How to export a sequence with stills (jpg) into a DVD format by using Compressor without having the interlaced issue on the outcome? The stills in the Canvas look crisp but once exported to DVD format, the outcome images look interlaced. How can I best match the crisp look of the high resolution JPGs in time line when exported to DVD?
My Sequence settings match the image settings:
Frame Size: 1024 x 768
Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square
Field Dominance: None
Compressor: Photo JPG
I tried to export the sequence of img as an independent QT movie file by using Apple ProRes 422 output settings. The video file looks great. I then imported it back to time line into new sequence and exported into DVD format trying both: deinterlace and "same as source" setting. Both output DVD files still have the interlaced issue.
I also tried to work with JPGs converted to TIFFs on a different sequence with same as Tiff settings and the issue still persists.
I will appreciate any advices.

Are you suggesting that I should use Photoshop or Graphic Converter to convert the 1024 x 768 to 720 x 480 prior to importing them into FCP seqence?

I am using FCP 7.0.3 to create the sequence of images (there has to be specific timing and transitions), which I then export to DVD format by using Compressor.
Do you mean that I should set the FCP timeline sequnece settings to 720 x 480?

Warranty with RAM-modul from third-party manufactor

does anybody know if there exists an declaration of Toshiba that the use of third-party ram-modules does not affect the warranty for the computer?

As far as I know such document doesnt exist. Fact is that you can upgrade RAM alone without service and this will not affect valid warranty. Toshiba offered list of compatible and tested RAM modules and if you use them they will be recognized properly and everything will be OK.
Of course, nobody force you to use these modules. On the free market you can buy what you want. It can just happen that you will buy some cheap, no-name modules and they will not work properly.
So, buy what do you want. For RAM upgrade check Users manuals where you can find exact step-by-step explanation how to put new modules into RAM slots.

Upgrade two WLC 5508 with HA SSO from 7.5.102.0 to 7.6.130.0 combined with FUS 1.9

The running config is:
- Two WLC5508's in HA SSO setup running version 7.5.102.0
- about 130 x 2602i APs
I need to upgrade to 7.6.130.0 using the pre-download feature to minimize the network downtime.
Is it possible to transfer the 7.6 to the controllers and pre-download 7.6 to all APs, then do the FUS 1.9 upgrade and finally start the actual controller upgrade to 7.6.
So the steps would be:
1. Transfer 7.6 image to primary controller (do not reboot!), so still running 7.4 as active image.
2. Start pre-download of 7.6 image to all APs and wait till all APs have the new image (do not know how long it takes for 130 APs).
3. Upgrade both controllers with FUS 1.9 (HA should upgrade both controllers automatically) (takes about 45 minutes?)
4. Make 7.6 image the active/primary image on controllers and APs and reset controllers.
If the steps above will not work, I would need to upgrade FUS 1.9 which means 1 hour downtime and then start the pre-download to all APs. The pre-download can take a long time I heard, so I need to wait and wait before I can start the 7.6 upgrade, which means another 1 hour downtime.
This way I need two maintenance windows instead of one. So would it be possible to combine the pre-download and FUS?

So strict reading implies that you have to run 7.6 first.

Is it possible to upgrade a G4 Xserve with an ISO image of a Leopard DVD?

I have a G4 Xserve (tray load) with only a CD drive. Leopard is on DVD only. I created an ISO image of the Leopard DVD but it will not work. Not sure why. I copied it to the Hard Drive of the Xserve and also tried it from an external drive (not booted from that drive however).
Any suggestions? Was trying to avoid booting into target disk mode. I only have an Intel laptop and not sure this would work anyway either.
All assistance is appreciated.

Did not work for me. Tried copying it directly to Xserve desktop, to a partitioned drive, to an external firewire drive. Nothing.
Sharing out the laptop DVD drive and booting to target mode did work, however. Very very VERY slow, like over 3 hours slow, but it worked.
All up and running now.

Problems with HDR merge from LR 5 into PsCC

I just get a blank screen when attempting this in LR 5 into Ps CC. I went through Adobe help and they recommended updating drivers for my AMD support. But I find out there is a fee for some and I get warnings all over the place for others. Does anyone have experience in this area so I don't get any viruses?

How are you transferring the File from Lightroom to Photoshop?
Right Click Edit In, or Via Export > And use "Post Processing" to get the file opent in Photoshop.
Try Both ways, it might do the trick for you.
For your updates on AMD you should not have to pay, since you already paid for the Hardware, the Software support should be free as long as your GPU is supported by AMD.If you get warnings or you have to pay for something it really sounds as malicious behavior on your system. Did you also tested to Run for Malware or Virusses? (you can use freeware like Malware Bytes) But also be aware when you download anything from internet what you check, becuase most Free programs, come with additional software or Commercials.
Hopefully it will help you a bit into the correct direction.

Ram disapears from time to time

I installed a 512MB Ram module from "crucial.com" into a new 14" iBook,
And for some reason it does not show in the "About this mac" menu from time to time.
I first i used the memory on a 12" powerbook for months, and it worked fine..
Now, i installed it into the 14" iBook, and even though it shows up in the "About this mac" menu., for some odd reason, when i restart the iBook it disappears from time to time., and i noticed this when i gave VPC more memory and i got the warning that there was not enough.
So even after i re-seated it in the slott to be sure it was in place, it still disappears after some time on its own
I double checked with Crucial and they said its the same Ram Apple ships in there upgrades, and it works perfect in a 12" powerbook, so i just don't get it.
NOTE:
 I got this iBook in spain
 The ram works fine on the 12" powerbook

Major Problem with audio from Final Cut to DVd Studio Pro

I am posting this problem again because no further responses have been received regarding my first post. I purchased an MR-HD100 Firestore device from Focus Enhancements. When I use clips from it alone or with other clips created by digitizing from min DV tape on a sequence or timeline the audio works fine in Final Cut. When I import any type of file and believe me I have been trying all kinds of suggestions and wasting almost a dozen DVDs. Whether it be a Final Cut QT file, going straight to compressor and producing an MPEG-2 file and a dolby audio file .ac3 importing them into DVD SP and making the adjustments that MR. Harbsmeier suggested DIAL NORM at -31dbfs and COMPRESSION MODE to NONE, as well as the suggestion to make an aif file with the audio and importing it into DVD SP as well as the video. I get the same result with every try, the clips made with the firestore are so low you cannot hear them. NOTHING WORKS!!!!. And yes I have tried making a DVD with just digitized footage and yes it turned out fine. I called Apple support today and that gentlemen basically told me I am out of warranty so phone help was not available. However, he made a suggestion of changing sequence presets in Final Cut which has now developed into another problem. I have messed up my settings so bad I don't know where I am I can't LOG & CAPTURE in the manner I used to ???? Could someone please advise as to why this problem exists and the correction to resolve it. I do not understand why the audio works fine playing the sequence on the timeline in Final Cut. It plays fine after making a Final Cut QT file. AND it plays fine in simulation mode in DVD Studio Pro. However after you burn a DVD the audio from the firestore clips are not to be heard unless you crank up the speakers or TV to it's maximum level and you can barely make it out. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME Projects are stacking up and was really hoping to go tapeless

Try building the project to your desktop and then open the Video_TS in the Mac DVD player application.
How does it play/sound? This application is the best way to see and hear how your burned DVD should play vs. just using simulator and burning.
Just to clarify- are you taking your FC QT file into Compressor and creating a MPG-2 and AC3 file or are you bringing your FC QT directly into DSP?
What codec are you exporting from FC? ProRes422, DV, H264?
Open the FC QT in QT and apple+I to see this.

If you have a processor of 867 MHz or faster and a minimum of 512 MB of RAM, you can run OS X Leopard, updated to 10.5.8.
That's as far as a G4 can go.

2 GB of RAM is pretty tight. I imagine that's at the very low end of what Yosemite wants, which could slow things down.
As far as scroll direction, you can always change it in the trackpad settings. Unsure why it got flipped, but you can fix it in about 5 seconds. Choose "natural" (or don't) depending on how you like it.

MSI P6N SLI PLATINIUM problem with ram 800MHz

I have problem with ram frequency.
I have MSI P6N SLI PLATINIUM and OCZ 2x2GB 800MHz CL5 but in bios I see that my ram runs in 667 MHz. Because I have 800MHz ram, so it shouldn't be default 800MHz and not 667MHz? What I have to do to show bios that I have 800MHz ram?

If the "it" refers to a compressed (zipped) spreadsheet that you downloaded, the ".ods" extension is used by LibreOffice and probably OpenOffice (which are free versions of MS Office) for spreadsheets, which would suggest that wherever you're getting that "Excel" file from has switched to one of those programs. I've tried opening an .ods file from LibreOffice using MS Office 2013 for Windows and it does open though with a warning that some things have been changed. I don't know if Office for Mac can normally open .ods files. But if your need is to just open .ods files, take a look at LibreOffice.
