Upgrading graphic card on the TouchSmart 300

Hey
I know teres was a similar question about this subject, but I was confused about the answer so im trying to get a simpler answer, sorry but I completly negated about computers so I hardly understand about them much
I have a HP TouchSmart 300-1120 and im trying to upgrade my graphic card, but I havent been able to find anyway of doing so.
If theres anyway of doing it or external parts that I need to do so please tell me, cause I have been searching over the web for days and havent been able to find any answer about it.
It would seem that the Touchsmarts are the only computers that you cant upgrade anything about.
Thank you, sorry I cant be more clear on my question but i dont know how else to put it
San

actually ive upgraded my touchsmart 310 from a dual core to a quad core and doubled the ram and added an aftermarket cooler so if you know what your doing or are willing to risk it its possible but you can possibly destroy your rig

  • Can i add a video graphics card to the HP TouchSmart 420t

I just purhased an HP Touchsmart 420T and I'd like to know if I can add a video graphics card?

This is the same answer that has been given for every model over the past 3 years and continues to be the case.
For all intent the graphics cards in the Touchsmart desktops are NOT upgradable, even with a "standard" MXM card since the motherboard and BIOS are custom made for HP and do not support additional non-HP graphics cards and their firmware/BIO

  • P7-1490 upgrade Graphics Card and Power Supply

I just got a GEFORCE GTX 650TI Boost graphics card.  The 300 watt Power Supply on my P7-1490 can't handle it because I need a 6 pin power connector.  The 1490 comes with a 300 Watt Power Supply.  I need something at least 450 watts.  Which upgrade will fit my box.  In addition, can the Jasmine Motherboard handle the new graphics card.  It does fit into the PCI Express slot.

Please consider the Corsair CX500, CX500M, CX600, or CX600M power supplies for your needs. Yes, the Jasmine motherboard in your p7-1490 should be capable of handling the GTX 650 Ti. Additionally, you will need to disable "Secure Boot" and possibly enable "Legacy Support" in the BIOS before installing the GTX 650 Ti.

  • Can I install a graphics card on a Touchsmart 610-1050f computer with intel HD graphics

Can I install a graphics card on a Touchsmart 610-1050f computer with intel HD graphics and if i can where
can i find a graphics card that will install in that computer.

There are many MANY threads on this, the answer is that it's not worth your time since you have to have a replacement card that the HP system BIOS already likes,, and this is not the same as replacing anything in a desktop, this is the equivalent of replacing the graphics in a laptop.
Since the graphics cards are not considered a user upgradable component there are no lists of "approved cards" nor guides to doing it, the closest you could do is the service or recycling disassembly sheets.

    Hi:
Unfortunately in most of today's notebooks (including yours), the graphics cannot be upgraded.
I looked at the service manual for your notebook, and there aren't even any other motherboards with better graphics available.
You can try the latest drivers from AMD to see if that helps, any but you can't do anything with the hardware.

    Hi:
Graphics adapters cannot be upgraded simply.
You would need to replace the motherboard with one that would have better graphics (if one exists for your model).
This would cost as much as buying a new notebook, so it is probably not a good idea to undertake such an endeavor.

  • Upgrade graphics card(s)?

Would there be a significant advantage to getting a more powerful graphics card?  The current configuration is two NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT cards driving three monitors on a Mac Pro dual-core Intel desktop, 16GB RAM, running Photoshop CS4.  I don't do 3-D but do process rather large multi-layer documents.  I have gotten a message about Ps disabling GPU enhancements.  I've seen some discussion of this issue here and there, but wasn't sure if this is so much of a performance hit and whether higher end graphics hardware would be worth the upgrade cost.
    Thanks,
    Zolt

Whether you want to spend money to get the OpenGL features is entirely up to you.  It's a subjective decision only you can make for yourself.
You may want to browse some of the alreay existing threads on this subject to learn about the limitations, Photoshop's inability to use more than one card for OpenGL features, etc.

  • What upgrade graphic card do i need for a early 2008 mac pro

I have a early 2008 Mac Pro.  ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB is what i have now.  What is a good upgrade graphic card to get.

The GTX 780 6GB runs fine on the dual PCIe internal power cables -- as does the GTX 680 and Radeon HD 7950. The same can't be said of the GTX TITAN or GTX 780 Ti or Radeon R9 280X -- all of which require an auxiliary power feed to avoid a nasty power down of your tower at the worst moment when too much wattage is demanded of the Mac Pro's factory power supply.
Did I mention that the GTX 780 with 6GB of GDDR5 matches the 6GB of GDDR5 in the TITAN?
The one fallacy to my 'sweet spot' award has to do with OpenCL. In case you hadn't noticed, the AMD Radeon GPUs smoked the NVIDIA GeForce GPUs running Photoshop's OpenCL accelerated Iris Blur filter and rendering LuxMark's OpenCL accelerated Room scene.

So depends on budget, whether you want a PC card for less but no "early EFI boot screen" prior to drivers loading, and what apps and needs you have.
The one thing for sure is that 2600XT should have been retired ages ago and even more so with 10.8.3 and above, it could be trouble or just... PITA/POS.

  • Upgrading graphics card p6516f-b

I currently own a HP p6516f-b and love it.  When I first purchased it I changed the power supply to 400w and the graphics card to a GeForce 9800GT.  Everything was fine with my system until I started playing a new version of a game and now I get the BSOD frequently and also I have a GPU monitor for the temperature on my graphics card.  The alarm goes off around 179 degrees and gets over 200 before I decide to turn off the system completely.
I would like to update my graphics card so I can play my games again.  I am looking at the GeForce 750-TI but I don't know if it will work in my system.  The motherboard is a Foxconn 2a92 (says Soluto) but when I search the HP website, it says I have the H-RS880-uATX but the picture doesn't look like the motherboard in my system.  The current card is about 4 1/2" wide and 8" long and that's the longest that can fit in this case with all the cables.  Can I upgrade this computers graphic card to the GeForce 750-TI and if so, is there a certain one I should chose?  I see there's several versions of this card.  I'm not sure what to look for when it comes to specifications like the PCI Express.
I know there's a gaming version of the card as well.  Can somebody let me know which one I should be using in my system?  I'm interested in seeing which versions of the 750-TI is compatible, if it is.  Will it work?  I can't seem to find anything about my specific computer model when it comes to this card, so I don't know what I should do.

  • Upgrading Graphics Card of lenovo3000 N200

I have lenovo 3000 N200 laptop and it has 256MB of graphics card. is it possible to upragde the graphic card for 512MB.  And if yes, any suggestions that which graphics card would be better?
Thanks for help and greets from germany!

Hi, you have an Nvidia 7300 Go card in your laptop.
It has 256 Mb DDR2 Memory. It can take from your RAM another 512 mb. That means if one program or game needs more memory, the system will give another 512 mb from your ram. it means your card has then 768 mb memory and this is enough for the application.
I think just to change the card for more memory is not a good relation of price for more memory.
My suggestion keep it like that.
But when you want to play games, which  need more graphic power, then you can think about to change the graphic card. But it is an laptop, so is not that easy as by normal pc.
You can overclock the nvidia 7300 go to 7400 that means the GPU standard is 350Mhz, i overclocked my GPU to 475 (more than 33%) and it works with no problems.
    BUT:
You need a cool pad, which supplies  your laptop with cool air, and all guaranty is invalid when you overclock the graphic card.
To by an other graphic card is not so good, because the cooling system of your laptop wouldn't cope with all the heat made by the graphic card and the CPU.

And when you don't know what CPU or GPU is, look them up in google

  • Upgrading graphics cards

I noticed that system profiler said that the graphics card uses a AGP bus. Could I replace the graphics card by pulling out the existing one and putting in a new one? I saw a website that said you could replace it with a Radeon 7000, though I think that was for a tray loader, but surely you could do the same with a slot loader. Note that I don't mind if I have to put the iMac in another case just to fit a new graphics card in.

There is no physical slot for a graphics card, because the onboard AGP "bus" and the ATI graphics chip are integral to the motherboard. As such, there is no card to remove or upgrade.

  • Upgrading graphic card on HP DC 8300 CMT

    Dear HP,
I try to upgrade graphic card, on HP DC 8300 CMT (Intel® Core™ i7-3770 Processor, Intel HD Graphics 4000 )
with Nvidia Asus GeForce GTX 650 Ti.
As stock power supply doesnt meet requirements, I installed an additional  FSP Group Booster X5 450W.
Once I turn PC on, it reboots 3 times, and eventually it continues to use onboard graphic and windows 7 loads as usual .
like if new graphic card is not present. (not detected by windows)
Bios version is latest and particular option  for disableing integrated graphic is grayed out- not accessible.
Is there any explanation why this happens ?
On DC 8100 sff It automaticaly disabled onboard graphic, altough it was low consumption Radeon HD 7750 Low Profile card, and there was no any problem.
    Regards.
