Upgrading hp All-in-one 200-5200t graphic card

Hey
I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the graphic card in my Pavilion All-in-One 200-5200t. It currently doesn't have one (aside from the build in one). If it is possible how can I know which is the best one compatible with my computer?

Hello @WalidB,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand that you have installed 16 GB of RAM in your HP Pavilion All-In-One 200-5200t and it is only recognising 8 GB RAM and you are wondering what the max RAM is for your computer. According to the HP Pavilion All-In-One 200-5200t Product Specifications and Configurable Options the maximum memory is 8 GB (2x4GB)(64-bit O/S) or 4 GB (2x2GB)(32-bit O/S).
This would be why your computer only recognised 8 GB RAM as that is the maximum it can use.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

    bamajim,
Here is a link to a page for your printer that may help with your issue.
The document provides steps to troubleshoot printouts that do not match the screen while printing from the web.
Does this also happen when printing graphics from somewhere other than the web ?
Once you give these steps a try let us know what happens.

  • Fan always running on my HP Pavilion All-in-One 200-5000 (model #2MD0400F1W)

The fan on my HP Pavilion All-in-One 200-5000 (model #2MD0400F1W) seems to be always running (and it's not quiet). I believe I'm running the latest BIOS and I've already checked to make sure the air vents are clear. I'm not running any memory or processor intensive applications. Any suggestions how to reduce how long and frequently the fan seems to be running? Thanks.

    Hello @jmgoldsmith,
I understand that you are having issues with the fan always running on your HP Pavilion All-In-One 200-5000 Desktop PC. I would be happy to assist you, but first I would encourage you to post your product number for your computer the number you provided is not a product number (example : HP Pavilion All-In-One 200-5000t CTO Desktop PC has a product number of BN997AV). I am linking an HP Support document below that will show you how to find your product number. As well, if you could indicate which operating system you are using. And whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit as with this and the product number I can provide you with accurate information.
How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Please re-post with the requested information and I would be happy to provide you with assistance. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

which mac mini should i go for: the one with AMD graphic card or Intel. I meanly going to use this for hometheater and HD movies.

Intel HD 3000 graphics card can easily handle HD movies up to 1080p. But if you are looking at higher resolutions possibly 4k or 8k that are being released this summer in new TV's, I would go with the AMD card. The AMD card would be good for video and picture applications and also games. But if this is strictly to power your 1080p home theater setup then the choice is obviously the Intel HD 3000.

  • Can I use HP all-in-one 200-5150t as a monitor?

My 3-year-old 200-5150t all-in-one computer just died (motherboard failure).  Rather than spending $300 for a repair, I thought I'd just get a new computer.  However, since the screen is still fine, I'm wondering if there is any way I could use it as a monitor for my new computer.  I've seen some discussion about this about TouchSmarts, but this one does NOT have a touch screen.  I'd appreciate it if anyone has any thoughts on this.  It just seems a shame to chuck (ie recycle) the whole thing when everything but the motherboard works!

    Hi,
Unfortunately no, I can't find any port which can be used:

  • DVI cable not working, but VGA one will. Graphics card problem?

Ok so. I have a Mac Pro with ATi 1900XT card. Was using a Samsung LCD for a while, via a DVI-VGA adapter. Works fine. Two days ago, I attached another monitor, a DGM, to the second DVI port using a DVI lead; the one supplied with the monitor. Everything worked fine.
Then today, I tried the same thing, but the second monitor only works at one particular resolution; 1280x800 or something. And the picture is a bit crappy. So, I tried with only the DGM monitor plugged in the first DVI port. Apple symbol at start up, and then just a black screen.
Swapped over to a VGA lead, and everything works perfectly again.
So, is the problem with the cable, the monitor, or the graphics card?
Maybe the cheapo cable is just not very good? But why it works only at one resolution? Weird. And it did flicker on at a couple of other resolutions, but went off again. And even at the one resolution it worked at, there was a secondary 'mirror' image of part of the screen, at one side of the screen.
Very strange, considering it worked perfectly before.
Oh, and I upgraded the Mac Pro's firmware yesterday. Could this have anything to do with things?
    Weird...

Forgot to add, we are running XP. We tried a different monitor and now at least we can get one monitor working via the display port. But when we try two monitors at the same time, the 2nd monitor on display port is not detected. How do we disable built in LCD on the X201 ? Lenovo support says its a BIOS setting ? That doesnt sound right  to me...
Are you trying to use a DVI Splitter? I do not think that a DVI Splitter would work with a Single Link Displayport TO DVI Adapter. I do not think a Dual Link Displayport To DVI Adapter would work with a DVI Splitter.
I think that you might need something link this.
    http://us.startech.com/product/SP123DP2DVI-Triple-Head-DisplayPort-to-DVI-Multi-Monitor-Adapter
Not sure, if the x201can handle 3 monitors in this fashion. StarTech.com says the GPU determines the support according to the youtube video.
It is pretty expensive, and it would be nice to know the limit.

  • Do all MSI Nvidia 750 TI graphics card have hybrid bios?

I have been advised to get a MSI Nvidia gtx 750 TI graphics card that has a hybrid bios switch as my HP pavilion has had compatibility issues with another graphics cards in the past. Im  having a look on Amazon but im really not sure what one to choose as i dont know which ones have hybrid bios. Do all MSI GTX 750 TI card have hybrid bios or only certain ones? Im really not very good when it comes to things like this and i want to make sure i get it right so i thought i would ask, hope you can help.
    Thanks Steve

If the VGA card have hybrid bios, it will write on the product box.
But since the website spec didn't mention it , I think it is better to ask the Amazon seller before you buy it...
You can check >>MSI website for hybrid BIOS introduction<<...

  • Can I upgrade my HP ENVY dv7-7300 Quad graphic card?

I've heard that most laptops graphic cards now a days can't be upgraded, but I have an HP ENVY dv7-7300 Quad and I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade its graphic card to Nvidia GT 635m?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Basically you can, nothing can stop you, with a cost and I believe this cost may be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:
New card price,  and WHERE you can buy it because laptop cards are not the same as desktop cards. You can't buy from any normal shop,
Need new system board (may be),
Need new cooling system because generally speaking more powerfull card pumps out more heat (you want more powerfull card don't you?).
May need new PSU because your current PSU may not suitbale to the card. (I ordered a machine with Nvidia card and I needed to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal 65W charger. They simply rejected my order).
    Labor cost.
    Many, many packets of Asprin.
    Hope this helps.

  • Powermac 1.25 MDD one or two graphics cards for dual display?

I currently have two displays running off of one ATI card. Would I be better off putting a second card in a free PCI slot to run display number two. I've noticed that the ATI card divides the 128 MB memory between the two displays. With a second card there would be more memory dedicated to each individual display.
Is this worth it or not? I have the extra card which i believe is an ATA 9200 PCI card.
    Graphics/Displays:
    ATI Radeon 9000 Pro:
    Chipset Model: ATY,RV250
    Type: Display

    on my mac I have a nVidia Geforce4 Ti 4600 128MB DDR 4x AGP.
it has a dvi port and adc port.
I have a 19" Samsung 900DF CRT connected to a DVI to VGA adpater that came with my G4 MDD.
I also have a 17" Philips 107S CRT connected to an ADC to VGA adapter, that I bought for $28 from OWC.
works great for me. extended desktop. I have photoshop menus and palettes on the smaller monitor and the main work screen on the larger.
when i watch movies and stuff watch the movies on the larger monitor.
when I use iMovie and After Effects, I do same as I do with Photoshop.
If I wanted to, I could put a PCI graphics card in the next slot over from the AGP and run another monitor.
that ATI Radeon 9200 PCI looks good... about $130 from OWC.
but what I got works fine...

  • No sleep after upgrading to a  radeon 9600 pro 256MB graphics card

I swapped my original radeon 9600 pro 64MB with a 9600 pro 256MB card and now my G5 dual 2.0 tower will not sleep. Should I download the 9600 pro drivers that are on the ATI support site, they only list these drivers for OSX 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4 and since I have 10.5 I am hesitant to do so. There seems to be a definite increase in graphic speed with the 256MB card and since I will be doing a lot of iphoto and imovie on this computer the upgrade would be a big help.

Can you find your model here? http://support.apple.com/specs/#powermac
Well, if you think you saw the PMU button near your RAM that would be it, just hold it down for a second or two.
Well, I'm not surprised that the PC is faster. You're running a very new OS on a very old machine. But Macs of any vintage are great, aren't they.
When you got your video card did you install the software from the disk that came with it?
One thing you might try if not sleeping is really bugging you would be to download and reapply the entire full 10.5.5 Combo Update. That has a way of correcting things when they've become corrupted.
It's pretty massive so if you're using a modem it would take quite awhile.

Edit and PS: Do you have your data backed up on a drive you can start up from? Like firewire or another internal? Here is a great app, free for it's basic job, that makes perfect copies of your system and everything on it.

  • Four displays on one GTX 670 graphics card

For anyone needing or wanting four displays driven by one card, I just successfully hooked up my fourth display to an Asus GTX 670.  I needed a Displayport to DVI adapter for my fourth display.  The HDMI port is connected to a Plasma TV, but I'm sure I could have hooked up another monitor instead if I wanted.
By the way, I was concerned about using a long (50 feet) HDMI cable to the TV, but it works great.   In reply to an earlier poster, I could edit on the plasma TV if needed, but I'm only using it for display.   In my opinion, an HDMI cable is the ultimate method for getting content from a computer and/or internet to a TV.

The HDMi 1.4 cables that are heavily shielded are exactly what you want for that kind of cable run. I have a setup at my Father in Law's house with 50 Foot HDMI 1.4 cable and it runs great. It's also what I recommend to our clients since that is really far outside of DVI or Displayport's spec.

  • All-in-One Pc Gpu upgrade

Im sorry but Im new to hardware.
Can i upgrade my Hp all in one 200's Graphics Card to a better one? A NVIDIA GeForce 650 for gaming?
    And if I can, how?
    Just a quick question

I understand you want to know if you can upgrade your graphics card on the All-in-One 200 system.
The type of graphics card the unit would use is an MXM graphics card like the one in the image below.
This isn't the normal off the shelf graphics card, so upgrades of the card are typically not meant to happen.  All-in-Ones are similar to notebooks in that they have redesigned some of the larger components to fit into a much smaller space and this typically limits the upgrade options since they aren't really standard components.  It is possible, but finding an MXM card that fits within the specifications of the unit is the challenging part.
If I have the product number, I may be able to give a more specific unit as there are various models within the all-in-one 200 family.

  • HP Officejet 8600 all-in-one will not allow me to use features

ALCON - after installing Yosemite (well upgrading) my all-in-one is not functioning. I have gone to HP's website to no avail nothing that can help. I uninstalled the software restarted my computer and restarted the printer. Updated the firmware on printer yet nothing is working correctly. I cannot scan documents nor fax. I get a message from the printer saying that the printer cannot communicate with the computer. I also have the HP assistant installed on my mac and yet still the computer cannot communicate with the printer's scanner and vice versa. I am at a loss. Any feedback would be appreciated. I really need to scan some documents and get them sent out. I had to go to my PC as a last resort. Suggestions please?

I may have found a fix for this problem. For those who are using Mavericks or Yosemite: Uninstall the current printer driver and install the printer driver dated Oct 22, 2014 and then install a patch update. I will copy and paste the link. For some odd reason the drivers I had prior to upgrading the OS was not willing (I upgraded from Mountain Lion).

  • Pros & Cons of a All In One Computer Vs a Desktop

My current system is a HP Pavilion a1616n  running Xp.
I will be up grading this year either to another desktop, but afer looking at the All-In-One computers I am thinking about going that way plus I am tight on space.
What are some of the pros and cons of the All-In-One computers if any
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Good Question! I shall try to answer as best as I can.
    Pros:
    1. Lightweight and simple. An all in one desktop can be pretty easily moved from one room to another and has a minimum amount of wiring. (often just a power plug and wireless keyboard and mouse)
    2. Touchscreen options. Many models now have a touch screen, which is just plain convient and cool.
    3. Space saving. No explaination needed here, it takes less room!
    4. Style. Let's face it, they look cool.
    Cons:
    1. Upgradability. What you see is what you get. Upgrades are limited to memory and hard drive. You generally cannot upgrade the motherboard/proccessor, etc.
    2. Heat. Running something high powered? There is little airspace inside the case. It's designed for people running daily tasks, not high end games or server applications, and cannot be upgraded to handle those.
    3. All-In-One issues: If something breaks, you can't just use a temporary solution while that part is fixed (borrowing someone's monitor, etc). The whole unit has to go back.
Conclusion: An all-in-one unit has the same pros and cons of a laptop, essentially, with the exeption of being less less portable and not requiring a battery. It's a laptop on a stand with a (typically) larger monitor, so a laptop might be a good alternative to an all-in-one if you don't mind the drawbacks. However, it feels more solid in your hands then a laptop and is perfect for an (only occasionally portable) enviornment, and since it's not likely to be moved you have to worry less about dropping it or replacing batteries overtime. Versus a desktop, a desktop unit is a perfect solution for the upgrader or one who wishes to customize which monitor they use, or wishes higher end (including server) applications. This is a generalization: Of course, there are higher end all-in-ones which can handle such applications, simply you cannot change/configure/upgrade an all-in-one to do so over time.
I hope this helps, and I'd be glad to clarify any points as needed.
