Upgrading/installing ColdFusion 10 from ver 9 (export/import settings)

To start, I am not a ColdFusion admin, just a systems admin. I have gone through a few CF upgrades over the years, but have been in place. We are looking at moving to CF10, and since it is a now Tomcat, it is a new install. I am lookign for how to export jobs, data sources, settings, etc. from the CF9 server when we are not enterprise (so I cannot export a CAR file). I have looked onlione, but eveythign pionts to the enterpise export. Any thoughts?

Can you have 5min downtime? You can just remove the "standard" licence, which will revert it to "developer edition" which does allow CAR file exports. Then put the licence back on again ;-)

Most of the detail is in the initial question because I didn't realize we could add on...but I am currently running steady state on a PC in my office and it is rebooted every night with hard disk protection enabled so I start with a fresh slate every morning. I found a regedit trick to prevent firefox from popping up the "would you like to import settings from IE?" thing every time, but my issue now is that every morning I have to re confirm exceptions for sites that I routinely use... Is there a way to get around having to do that every morning when people log into this computer? I am willing to write a batch script if someone could give me direction or mess with the registry if need be....

Performance benefits from database export import

Hi guru,
I have SAP R3 47.X110 WIN/SQL2005.
I want to improve performance by a sort of database reorganization.
I read this note Note 159316 - Reorganizing tables on SQL Server SQL 2000/2005
but , there the method descrived is not much quick to do.
The question is : there is lot performance's benefits from make an export of my instance then re-import , according system copy procedure?
Or there is another quick way to reorganize database?

You want to do an export/import or a reorganization to get more performance. The question is: does it make sense? The given Microsoft article and the mentioned notes describe pretty well, in which cases it makes sense and in which not.
I wouldn´t start with the last step (reorganization) but I would more try to find out, where the real problems are. Checking the I/O system throughput using performance monitor (perfmon.exe) on Windows, checking long running statements using ST05 and finding out if you have a real index fragmentation using the given DBCC procedures.
If you come to the conclusion then, that a reorganization makes sense, then I would do it.
And as stated in the SAP note, if it would become faster after such a task, the underlying I/O subsystem is not fast enough to serve all the requests.
There´s no general statement as "if you do reorganization using method A or method B it will be faster" because the reasons for a slow performance can vary.

Recovering the rules app from one export/import (HOWTO?)

I'm having an issue with my rules app.
Our customer has a requirement. They want to export the production environment to the test environment, to have the data updated, and be able to reproduce recent issues to create a report.
The problem is, when we import the schema into the test environment, we are not able to use the rules app again, the results views is no longer valid because the RLM$SESSRSLTTTAB tables used to create this views not exists. So we have to manually delete all related objects to the rules app, an re-run the scripts to create all again.
The question is, if there is any procedure to re-create this internal objects, or a way to generate the export/import to avoid this.

Alex,
Rules Manager applications can be exported and imported to a different database with a restriction that the destination schema is same as the schema from which the objects are exported. When a rules application is exported, the internal objects are skipped. At the time of import, all the internal objects are recreated. Note that these internal objects may now have different names (object numbers) on the import site. Please let me know if you this is not the behavior you are seeing when you use export/import.

Export/import content area

Hi,
I'm trying to import/export the content area using the contexp.cmd and the contimp.cmd. When I run the import I receive the error '
WWUTL_API_SiteTransport.GetImportSites: Import table WWUTL_SBR_TX_SITES$ is empty
Rolling back transaction'
The first thing the export does is truncate this table so it is always going to be empty. Any ideas how to get round this??

The import truncates the table to remove any old data that might be left from previous export/ import.
Following this step, the Oracle Import utility imp is run. One reason why you are getting the error could be due to different versions of the 9iAS client utilities (which are 8.1.7 based in your case) and the database server. If the database server is 8.1.6 then you need to set the ORACLE_HOME to the database home prior to running the import. Once the import is complete you can reset the ORACLE HOME back to the 9iAS Home.

Generally, we can’t upgrade operating system from 32-bit to 64-bit directly, we need to reinstall 64-bit operating system.
Office 2007 don’t provide the Import/Export button like Office 2010/Office 2013, we can’t export QAT setting and customize ribbon setting directly.
To customize an installation of Office 2013, you can use the Office Customization Tool (OCT) to perform tasks such as the following:

Has anyone done this or know if it's possible to simply build a 9.2.0.7 instance, then use export/import to perform the upgrade from 8.1.6 to 9.2.0.7 since a direct manual upgrade from 8.1.6 is not supported??

Yes, building a database in a new release and then exporting the existing database using its version of the exp utility, performing a binary copy of the exp file to the new server, and then running the new version imp utility using the transferred dmp file was the standard method of moving databases to new platforms/versions for many years. The same process could always be used on the same server between equal or from a current to a new release.

Hi,
you should go to PI 7.1 and not PI 7.0 otherwise it makes not so much sense.
And yes it's possible to migrate your scenarios. If you have UDFs you have to check them because the java version has changed.

Import from full export

i have dmp file exported by command: exp system/pass@dbname file=exp_full_ORCL.dmp full=y log=exp_full_ORCL.log.
its exported from Oracle 10.2.0.3 running on Redhat Enterprise Linux ver 5 with multiple Schemas and users
then i did install Oracle Linux Ver 5 OS and install Oracle 10.2.0.1
then i want to import full database on it im using dbca to create instance then im using below command:
imp system/pass@dbname file=exp_full_ORCL.dmp full=y log=exp_full_ORCL.log
but always i found errors for tablespaces users , undo, temp, SYSAUX already exists i did try ignore=y and remove existing tablespace and alter users table to read only but problem never solved please help me

How do I remove an entry from the "Store Files" drop down list in the "Import Settings" section of Aperture 3.3.2

The dropdown list "Store Files" in the "Import Settings" section of Aperture 3.3.2 displays the history of the entries previously added to the list. Some of the entries are no longer valid and I'm trying to delete them but I can't find a way to do this. This is a screenshot. Does anyone know how to do this?

Is the MacOS X version in your signature correct? Then you cannot be using Aperture 3.3.2?
You should not be seeing duplicate entries in the "Store Files" pop-up menu. This looks like your Aperture Preferences file is corrupted and needs fixing.
Quit Aperture (and log off and on again, if you are running MacOS X 10.7 or later)
Then reveal your User Library (from the Finder's main menu bar, the "Go" menu. Hold down the options-key until the library apears in the drop-down menu)
In the Library folder select the "Preferences folder and locate the file "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist"
Now you can either
remove the com.apple.Aperture.plist file to the Desktop, to force Aperture to create a new one, but you will have to set again your Preferences from the "Preferences" panel,
or make a backup copy of the file and edit it, if you are an experienced programmer and have Xcode installed. To fix the drop-down list you need to edit the item "RecentReferenceFolders" and delete the redundant folder names. Enter "recent" into the search field to find it quickly. If you click an item in the list, plus/minus buttons should appear. But only try this, if you know how to edit property lists, otherwise it will be much safer to delete the faulty list and to set your preferences again from the "Preferences" panel.

Upgrading Lightroom from ver. 5 to ver 6, I am running Windows 7 32-bits but I get Lightroom in a 64-bit version, also the second time I download

I have just downloadet Lightroom ver. 6 to upgrade from ver. 5 on Windows 7 in 32-bit. The install tells me that it ned a 64-bit system. I have then downloadet ver. 6 again, and it stil demand a 64-bit machine.

I don't think you understand: I want to open Dreamweaver and build a brand new site, then when I am done I want to host the dreamweaver site on the Business Catalyst platform. I dont want to use anything in BC to build the site, I just want to use the hosting platform. I do not want to import a BC site into dreamweaver or anything like that. I just want to use BC the same way I would use godaddy, or uhost or any other hosting provider. Based on your response you said that "of course its possible to build a BC site in Dreamweaver" I dont want to build a BC site, I want to build a Dreamweaver site and host it on the BC platform. Like I said before it doesnt seem like this is possible. As of now we can only build a new site in MUSE and integrate it into BC without using a BC template. Can you understand what I am saying. I DONT WANT TO USE A BC TEMPLATE, I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH BC WHILE I AM BUILDING THE SITE WITH DREAMWEAVER, JUST LIKE MUSE DOES.
