May I suggest you rather upgrade to App Server 7 update 3?
I comes with 1.4.2_03a with many nice performance features/enhancements (I guess that this is what you're looking for).
See http://docs.sun.com/source/817-5602-10/index.html

  • Need to upgrade Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.3

    Dear All,
I am having bit doubts on choosing the Application server down load file from the Oracle site. Currently we are using Application Server 10g 10.1.2.0.2 Forms and Report service. I need to up grade the Forms and Report service to 10.1.3 version of the Application Server 10g .
If I select the Application Server 10g Release 3 from the site its directing me to the big selection list. Actually i bit confused which one i need to choose. I need to upgrade only the Forms and Report service Application Server 10g .Iam sure somebody can help me to solve this confusion. I appreciated ans thanks your attention in my query.
    regards
    Mathew

    Hi Mathew,
If I am not mistaken, there is no Forms and Reports version 10.1.3. There is an Application Server version 10.1.3.x but this is a J2EE only release. Forms and Reports have not been bundled in this version.
Could it be that you are mistaken with version 10.1.2.3 which is a patch set on top of Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 ? If this is the case, you can apply the patch set as per directions in the readme from the patch set. The patch set is available from [My Oracle Support|http://updates.oracle.com/download/5983622.html].

  • Is it possible to upgrade only apache in oracle 10g application server.

    Hi All,
I have to upgrade only apache in oracle 10g application server with out upgrading oracle 10g as.
Is it possibel to upgrade only apache version in oracle 10g application server. if yes.could you suggest the steps that i need to follow.
    This is very urgent.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sathya

If your trying to upgrade just apache in that oracle home, then no. If your trying to upgrade to a real apache version, from apache.org, mod_oc4j won't work. You need to use Oracle's version of Apache or HTTP Server.
Is there a reason you only want to upgrade Apache and not the whole oracle home?
There are ways to do it, but it wouldn't be supported by Oracle and I wouldn't recommend that either.

    thanks .

    Hi Ibrahim,
You can do an easier installation by only using base release of 10.1.2.0.2. What I stated would be good practice:
    By * DB 10.2.0.3 ---- > u mean (Database Version) => Yes, use Database version 10.2.0.3
By * Identity Management 10.1.4.0.1 (OID/SSO) -----> u mean (Application Server infrastructure) => Yes, use Identity Management 10.1.4.0.1 instead of the infrastructure on Application Server 10.1.2.0.2
By * Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 -----> u mean (Middle Tire Forms&Report Services) => Yes, use Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 as middle-tier. When installed, upgrade it to 10.1.2.2 (with the latest patchset)
By * Patch Application Server DB client to 10.1.0.5 ----> u mean what? => Before you upgrade AS to 10.1.2.2 it's mandatory to upgrade the Database client software in the Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 home to 10.1.0.5. Default is 10.1.4. You'll see database client version by for instance starting SQL*Plus.
For your Developer (Forms) upgrade: Forms 4.0/4.5 - 6i -> 10g. See: http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/upgrade/index.html. If you have tons of Forms, then I recommend using a tool like the great PITTS.CON (http://www.pitss.com/en/pcon/index.htm).

  • Upgrade JVM in sun java system application server

    Hi:
Recently I've been trying to deploy some new applycation in my sun java system application server 9 running on solaris 8. When I attemp to do it the server throw me a exception because the server jvm is older than my pc jvm. Then I follow the steps I find in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E19501-01/819-3653/819-3653.pdf to upgrade the jvm in the server, however the exception persists. It seems like I have not do anything. Can anyone help tell me how to upgrade the jvm ?

You need to delete all the files under the 'generated' directory to force the server to recompile them after the JDK upgrade. Also check in domain.xml and make sure the JVM parameter is pointing to the JDK that you have installed. It is also worthwhile to check asenv.conf to see which JDK that file is pointing to as well.

  • How to make upgrade from application server and not from central instance?

    Hello SAP Gurus!
I have SAP ECC release 6.0, and I´m gonna make upgrade to enhancement package 6.06, do you know if Can I make upgrade from application server, but not from central instance?
    Thanks.

    Hi Victor,
Upgrade process has to execute from the server where message server is running.
So I guess it is not possible to initiate the SAP upgrade  from application server.

  • Application server problem after upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0

    Hi all,
We have recently upgraded our test server form 4.6C to ECC 6.0.
In one of the programs we are using open dataset to write files to
application server. This particular folder had been mapped through "Map Network
Drive function" in windows. The path we have given in the program
    as "<Drive>:\<Folder>\File Name".
    Code :
    <b>DATA : zdsnb(45).
    ZDSNB = 'R:\SAPPayroll\zpaysheet.prn'
OPEN DATASET zdsnb IN TEXT MODE.</b>
In 4.6C this particular format was reading without any problem. But
after the upgrade, system is throwing an error "File cannot be read".
We have checked the NTFS share rights and rights for the mapped drive.
    It's "Everyone" full access.
Our OS: Windows 2003 server 64 bit
    Database : MS SQL 2005 64 bit.
Most of HR related testing is based on this access. Pl suggest a
solution, so that we can go ahead with our testing and upgrade of other
    servers.
    Regards,
    Adeeb

Am a little confused by which way your slashes are going, but if they're Ok try adding phrases below.
    open dataset p_uxfile <b>for input</b> in text mode <b>encoding default</b>.
    Best!

  • BI 4.1 Upgrade from BI 4.0 - MOBIServer web application is missing on AIX platform

    Hello BI Technical Experts,
Recently, I have upgraded our BI environment from BI 4.0 SP05 Patch 06 to BI 4.1 SP03 Patch02 successfully. As per the BI 4.1 technical documentation the BI Mobile Server on the web application server (Tomcat 7) should have been deployed automatically but we are missing this in all our environments, looks like upgrading to BI 4.1 does not install MOBIServer automatically.
    Technical Details:
From 4.1 Mobile Feature is available for AIX as well!
    OS: AIX, DB: Oracle 11g
I would like to know if there is a way to run the setup.sh from the install directory in custom installation mode to modify the BI server platform to select Mobile Server under web application? I could not find this information anywhere in the SAP's knowledge base nor in the internet. I found how to do this operation in Windows and looks pretty simple but I am not getting the same wizard to choose the option when I run the setup.sh, it directly takes me to uninstallation step!!
Any input is much appreciated! This is holding our mobility project.
    Thanks,
    S Sumanth GV
This is the mobile application in CMC post upgrade. But I am missing the web application on top of tomcat.
Missing MOBIServer under warfiles and tomcat locations:

    Hi Denis,
Thank you for taking your time to answer my concerns. However, I have tried running modifyOrRemoveProducts.sh from the install location but I did not get modify option to choose like you get in Windows. It just lists the installed products and add-ons and allows me to choose any one of those, if I select any of the BI Platform Server base components it directly takes me to the un-installation step. I ran the script just to show whats happening at my server for you to show.
Based on the product I select and once I click on continue then it will execute the following setupexe command which ultimately take me to the un-install step.
I am not sure which crucial step I am missing here?
    Thanks in advance,
    S Sumanth GV

  • Sun Java Application Server 8.1 Upgrade Solaris 9 to Solaris 10

I have Sun Java Application Server 8.1 (version 8.1_02 (build b06-fcs) ) and HA which are currently installed on Solaris 9 box (Sparc).
Now, I plan to upgrade Solaris 9 to Solaris 10. What should I need to do before and after migration?
    Thanks.

Before I start, disclaimer -- I have no knowledge of Hibernate and the following comments are based on the stack trace you have included.
I think your permissions might be set all right but you might have an error in the hibernate query. It looks like hibernate uses antlr to parse the queries. While parsing the query, antlr is encountering an exceptional condition and is trying to exit the VM (by calling System.exit()). Obviously, the hibernate code does not have that permission and therefore the exception is logged.
My guess is if you fix the query such that hibernate/antlr can parse it, you will not run into this error.
    Hope this helps,

  • Upgrade 10g Application Server 10.1.2.0.2 to 10.1.3.3

    Dear All,
I am very new to application server
we have an 10g Apps Server Release 2 10.1.2.0.2 and we want to upgrade this server to Release 3 10.1.3.3
J2ee Applications are deployed on this application server which we want to upgrade
Can anybody please help me in this regard?
    thanx in advance

10.1.2.0.2 is the BI and Forms install. 10.1.3.3 has no BI and Forms install. The next version to include BI and Forms will be 11g, which was initially slated to ship last winter but has been delayed. If you need BI & Forms the highest you can go is 10.1.2.0.2. If you want to license an additional install, you can put 10.1.3.3 onto another server.

  • Share JVM on the client using ORACLE Forms on Oracle Application Server 10x

    Hi All,
excuse the question, if it's wrong here:
We have a problem running an Oracle Forms Application on an Oracle Application Server 10.1.2.3
Local requirements do not allow multiple JVMs to run on the Client where the Oracle Forms Application is shown.
Is there any neat way to prevent Multiple Instances of a Forms Application to each run a JVM on the client ?
(Issue shows up on windows xp, iexplorer 8, ...)
    Any help much appreciated.

    Rephrasing...
You have a web server - Oracle Forms.
You want to prevent a user, which is accessing the web server, from opening more than one instance of IE (accessing the web server twice.)
I would suspect that the answer requires support from the web server. And if that is the answer then this becomes a specific question about Oracle Forms (and not a general one about java.)
