They tend to keep updated drivers for desktops since those tend to get used for much longer.
On the otherhand, finding notebook (and in some cases, model specific) drivers don't always get the same treatment.
Ok thx.I see that there is a partion of the HD that is dedicated to system recovery manager i can format HD and install win 8 without format that partition or if i format to install win 8 i loss the recovery manager?Sorry for bad english hope you understand something!

  • How to format a msi gx660

I have recently bought an msi gx660 but if in the future i will need to format how i can do???I can boot up winows 7 by a pendrive format and install windows 7 or i must use the recovery mode at the boot???

Quote from: Stu on 07-January-11, 02:40:00
You can delete all partitions and use the whole disk if you want, its up to you.
But if you delete partitions you lose whatever data is on them. And if you remove the BIOS_RVY and SYSTEM partitions, then the recovery won't work anymore.
Anyway, if you don't need to reinstall Windows yet, just leave things as they are and don't worry about it.
Ok it's all clear now thx

this is not a problem they will just run at 1066, it makes no sense to buy/fit 1066 when it is the same price as 1333

WEI is pretty useless, the two ratings you refer to are supposed to be seperate.

I believe these only come on when you disable the touchpad, try it.

  • Hi Everyone Im New, Got Question About Upgrading MSI GT60 0ND With SSD

Hi Everyone I'm New, Got Question About Upgrading MSI GT60 0ND With SSD.
:welcome:So As I've stated I'm new here, or at least got a new MSI notebook.
Ive got the new MSI gt60 0ND with 750GB HD and 675 Ge-Force GTX , anyways to the bottom line.
I would like to Upgrade my computer with SSD that I bought and install the win8 on it, in order to speed things up, but I have encountered a few problems..
    1. there is no sticker on the back of the computer that gives information about the serial number of my windows 8...
    2. lets say in some magical way I could get the serial number out, can I use it to reinstall ? because Ive heard that you cannot use this CD key anyways unless you got a special win8 installation CD key from MSI because its MSI branded windows 8.
am I screwed    ? ?? ? I thought it is possible to upgrade with SSD but it seems like MSI made it very hard, I do not understand why they even putted the warranty void sticker on the expansion bay's .... WEIRD..
Please help !! Thanks in advance,
    David

I think serial key of windows is in your bios which you cannot See however it should be automatically activates windows

  • How can I perform an "in-place upgrade" on an unbootable Windows 7 machine or at least rebuild Safe Mode?

Some strange glitch has erased every single unlocked & unprotected file on my C: drive. It wasn't a virus because I checked autorun records and running processes using the respective Sysinternals utilities and didn't find anything suspicious.
I restored all data except for some system files and files that had "too long" of a path using shadow copies, which luckily for me were just a few hours old. Then, I decided to reboot into Recovery Environment and run System Restore from there. For even
more strange reason, the available restore points in RE were dated November 2010 (it's May 2012 right now) and the recent save dates are nowhere to be found.
To make matters worse, SFC doesn't work and Safe Mode shows BSOD after loading CLASSPNP.SYS.
    Error messages so far:
RE's startup repair tool: System files integrity check and repair error code 0x2
SFC: Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation
    BSOD: 0x7B (0xFFFFF880009A9928, 0XFFFFFFFFC0000034, 0x0, 0x0), but the HDD is perfectly fine - it's a dual-boot machine
    CBS.log: Failed to get CSI store. [HRESULT = 0x80073712 - ERROR_SXS_COMPONENT_STORE_CORRUPT]
What I need is a way to perform either an in-place upgrade without booting into Windows, or a way to fix the SXS Component Store, or rebuild the Safe Mode so that I could initiate upgrade install from there. A clean install isn't an option because I don't
have the luxury of time to run through the reboot cycles when re-installing and updating other software (I'm using Windows 8 CP for now as my work tools are mostly in the cloud).

It is not possible to do a repair install of a system unless you can boot to the system.
Have you checked the hard drive for problems? - download the manufacturer's test utility, create the disk, and run the extended checks.

  • I upgraded my computer to Windows 7 and now I tunes is empty and when I try to sync my Iphone4 or IPod, it states they belong to another ITunes Library. How do I sync all my content, including Apps to my computer again or get my old Itunes library back?

    To all:
I recently upgraded my computer from Windows XP to Windows 7.  Now my Itunes library is no longer available? When I try to sync my IPod or Iphone 4 to ITunes, it states that the content on my devices belong to another Itunes Library and do I want to transfer purchases, erase etc?
How do I get my old Itunes Library back?  Some of my music are from CD's I own and really don't want to start the years of building my Itunes library all over again?
How do I bring all the contents: contacts, music, apps etc from my Iphone4 back to Itunes?
    Confused.

The ipod/iphone/ipad are not backup sotrage devices.
Certainly you did not upgrade your computer without making sure that your backup copy of your computer was up to date.  Just use your backup copy of your computer to put everything back.

  • Upgrading my PC from windows 8.0 to 8.1, I accepted to use Skydrive as Cloud. Now I have lost my ICloud calendar sync with my iphone and iPad which appears no more in Outlook. I can access calendar on my PC through iCloud app but not printable. HELP!

My iphone and ipad are stil synchronized but Calendar does not sync with Outlook since I upgraded the PC to windows 8.1
You may answer in English, Italian or French...
    Thanks for Help!!!

All I had to do was complain.  I synced my iPhone to the Windows machine, checked the other account at iTunes prompting (where no apps had shown up previously), reconnected the iPad, and 140 apps downloaded including the App Store.  I have no idea why.

  • Upgrade of Integation Services (Windows 2012 R2) on Windows 2008 R2 with Exchange 2013 SP1 DAG fails

    Here is the scenario:
    Legacy Host: Windows 2008 R2
Guest VM: Windows 2008 R2 with Exchange 2013 SP1 DAG cluster.
After importing the VM (2008 R2 and Exchange 2013 DAG) into a 2012 R2 host (Cluster).  (copy VM files to new 2012 R2host) Everything works fine.
Then upgrading "Installation Services" (for Windows 2012 R2 host) on the imported VM runs fine with no errors to the "Restart" prompt. VM than shows: "Configuring Windows updates 32% complete. Do not turn
of your computer." Hangs there for about 20 minutes until is says "shutting down". Hangs there for 20 minutes until power off. Restart to normal start; "Preparing to configure Windows. Do not turnoff your computer." proceeds slowly
to "Configuring Windows updates 32% complete. Do not turn of your computer." hangs there again indefinite. Sometime hangs at shutdown cycle and "Configuring Windows updates 32% complete. Do not turn of your computer." indefinitely.
I moved 20 other machines from a 2008 R2 host to new Windows 2012 R2 hosts all of these machines install the 2012 R2 Integration services just fine on the 2008 R2 VM. Just the 2008 R2 VMs clustered (DAG) and Exchange 2013 SP1 do not take the Integration
    Services upgrade.
Any advise from Microsoft? I know I could decommission the DAG and Exchange machines and install Integration services on the native box before Exchange and DAG and that would sure work, but I'd rather avoid that amount of work for a simple integration layer
    upgrade.
    Thanks

Windows Firewall won't block installations. You can use group policy, check out Using Software Restriction Policies to Protect Against Unauthorized Software
As well, as a security best practice users who should not be allowed to install applications should not be members of the Power Users or Administrators local machine groups. As members only of the Users local machine group they do not have permission to
    install applications.

  • HP not honoring free upgrade from Vista to Windows 7

When I purchased my machine in February 09 with Vista home edition I was promised on the web site and by the sales clerk that I would receive a free upgrade to Windows 7. Now I am told that only machines purchased after June 09 will qualify. I am furious and will not settle for this. Does anyone else have this issue.

Look you might have understood them wrong or you're saying something that they didn't say. They might have told you that there is going to be a free upgrade program for Windows 7 closer to when Windows 7 launches and thought you could get it when you bought it or you just want to accuse HP that they said that you would have the W7 Upgrade for free so you can get the upgrade. You should have looked for an official confirmation from Microsoft for the free upgrade from vista to W7, http://windowsteamblog.com/blogs/windows7/archive/2009/06/25/announcing-the-windows-7-upgrade-option-program-amp-windows-7-pricing-bring-on-ga.aspx This link was released on June 25, 2009 and officially says that the free upgrade program was going to start on June 26, 2009 and this is directly form the Windows Blog. You made a mistake of listening to people and not looking for the official Microsoft Announcement. Your out of luck. Microsoft did this with xp to vista when vista came out and it was around the same months as vista to W7, so you should have also looked for past free upgrade. On February, Windows 7 date hasn't even been announced and the beta was still in progress as posted here on February 2009 http://windowsteamblog.com/blogs/windows7/archive/2009/01/23/general-availability-for-the-windows-7-beta-to-end.aspx   So this goes back to the top, you should have looked at past free upgrades like xp to vista to check how many months before they will start the free upgrade program.

  • Satellite P200-17C - Upgrade from Vista to Windows 7

Am looking to upgrade from Vista to Windows 7, anybody done this? And was thier any problems with drivers etc?
    Thanks

    Hi
I dont know what you want to hear now exactly but you can download all drivers here:
    http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com => Support & Downloads => Download Drivers
As far as I know this P200 model belongs to the PSPB6 series.
Therefore it seems that all drivers available for Windows 7 32bit.
Generally about Vista and Windows 7 I can say that new OS runs much faster and never had a problem as yet. I can recommend it! :)
