Upgrading OA 11i from OA 10.7 with Multi-Instances Schemas
From an ORACLE Applications 10.7 with Multi-Instances Schemas (Mutiple Set Of Books Architecture : Schemas : APPS, APPS2, APPS3, PO, PO2, PO3, AP, AP2, AP3, AR, AR2, AR3,...), we want to upgrade toward an 11.5.1.
At the begin of the Step of AutoUpgrade, we have an error :
"Not able to process an MSOBA, you must pass in the Multi-Org Architecture."
Could you give me some informations about the way to resolve this problem :
* Do we must install and initialize the multi-Org in the 10.7 environment ?
* Can we process this point during the step of upgrading and how ?
* Do we have a bypass to this problem ?
Think you for your help !
Below are the points which I read for r11i migration.
a) MSOBA clients should migrate/convert to multi-org before migrating to 11i.
b) Autograde will fail, if it detects MSOBA.
c) Attachments and Workflow will not work in MSOBA.
For more details refer Oracle appsnet.

Upgrading To Tiger From 10.3.9 With The 10.4 Install DVD
I got my G5 in May, 2005 just as Apple was releasing Tiger so a 10.4 Tiger install DVD disc was included in the box. I have 10.3.9 and have had very few problems. But if I do want to upgrade to Tiger in the near future, will the 10.4 install DVD disc be sufficient (albeit with probably having to install many software updates) or would it be better to purchase the 10.4.6 DVD disc that Apple has in their store?
Thanks,
DavidIn addition to the above, follow the tips in http://www.macmaps.com/upgradefaq.html and http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/installswupdates.html. The smartest of which are to properly prepare your current installation by installing the latest updates or, if you have, rerun the 10.3.9 COMBO update, repair permissions, and make a bootable backup. Then, and only then, update to Tiger, using the update previous version option.

Upgrading to Mavericks from 10.6.8 with boot camp partition already for Windows 7
Hello,
I have a 2011 27" iMac/16GB ram/1TB HD on OS X 10.6.8
I did upgrade it to 10.7 but it changed too much stuff I did not like, so it was a nightmare to get back to 10.6.8
Anyway, I have a partition on there with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit that when I need to I boot into that partition.
I use a program called reFIT when my machine first turns on to select with one, works well as it is a EFI partition tool but no longer developed.
So regardless of the reFIT program if I upgrade to Mavericks will it screw up my Windows partition?
I have the Windows 7 disc/image so it's not a big thing but I don't want to spend days trying to make something work if it screws up what WORKS now.
You know the old saying, if it's not broke, don't fix it.......
any input would be appreciated
thanks
philmiamiThe short answer is that it may, so keep that image available.

Upgrading mac mini from tiger to leopard with broken DVD drive (long)
bonjour.
I have a macmini (1.42PPC) with a broken DVD drive running tiger on which i would like to install leopard (from scratch). I have a retail DVD of leopard, and a macbook. Other equipment includes a PSP and an 8Gb memory stick duo, usb cables, a 40Gb ipod with firewire cable. Wireless keyboard and mouse.
I've created a bootable image of my leopard DVD onto the 8Gb memory stick in the PSP using the macbook. I can plug the PSP into the macbook and the memory stick mounts as the leopard install DVD. I run InstallOSX and i'm prompted to reboot. Upon rebooting, my macbook boots from the memory stick in the PSP attached via USB and the language option menu of the install process appears. So far so good. I shutdown the macbook.
I then take my bootable image of my leopard DVD and plug it into the macmini. It automounts, i run InstallOSX and i'm prompted to reboot and the macmini restarts.
Unfortunately, the macmini reboots from it's internal HDD, and not the memory stick attached via USB so the installation fails.
Is there a way i can force the macmini to boot or reboot from the USB drive? I only have a wireless keyboard. Does the macmini in fact support booting from a USB device at all?
I don't know much about the firmware shipped with the macmini, and can not access it during startup to take a look as i have a wireless keyboard. Can i access the firmware from the booted macmini to change the boot device, like i can with a Sun Solaris box (eeprom)
Could there be another solution that wouldn't involve playing with the firmware?
I don't have the option of buying additional equipement.
Any thoughts on this problem would be welcome.
best wishes
jack
ps. I added (long) to topic subject, not to phish, but to save others' time, as it's quite a long and boring postthanks for your advice, however this is all but impossible as i have a wireless keyboard which doesn't permit me boot into anything but the OS, as the keyboard and bluetooth drivers don't load early enough in the boot process.
however, i did find a firewire cable, so this is what i did:
booted the macmini in target mode and added a 10Gb partition to it from the macbook, onto which i restored the leopard DVD image
booted the mac mini normally, and it mounted my new partition. I just ran the install from there et voila -
Upgrade to 10.1.3.4: Problems with multi-select list
Hi,
We upgraded from BiseSEone (10.1.3.2) to 10.1.3.4 (using BI EE). One of the features we were longing for was the improved multi-select list in the dashboard prompts (with a efficient search support). But after the Installation the multi-select list doesn't work at all. There are no data offered and the frames are missing. What could be go wrong here ? There were no problems during the installation. I told the installation to keep the configurations.

Thomas
Hi guru's,
is there anybody around who experienced a similar phenomenon !!!

Upgrade TC (A1355) from 1TB to 3TB?
Hi folks,
looking for solution to upgrade TC (A1355) from 1TB to 3TB with Western Digital hdd (WD30EZRS)?
Have installed actual firmware for TC and actual airport utility.
Using OS X 10.6.8.
Has anyone a solution?
Thx for help,
BrauniJust google around. eg

It is obvious the A1355 has issues with drives larger than 2TB.. whereas you can stick a 3TB in the original A1254 and it works perfectly.. it maybe a real effort on Apple's part to prevent you doing what you are trying to do. -
Upgrade Database from 10203 to 11202 with EBS 11i
Hello,
We are planing to upgrade our DB from 10203 to 11202 on HPUX.
The Application tier version is 115102
Does this upgrade is "transparent" to the application ?
Are there any specific pacthes / action i should apply in the application tier because of this upgrade ?
ThanksDoes this upgrade is "transparent" to the application ? You need to consider applying couple of application patches (i.e. latest AutoConfig patches, latest Developer Patchset, ..etc).
Are there any specific pacthes / action i should apply in the application tier because of this upgrade ? All the steps are documented in (Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle 11g Release 2 [ID 881505.1]).
Thanks,

I have upgraded Apple Aperture from version 2 to version 3 and I'm having a problem with the "Highlights and Shadows" adjustment. According to the user's manual, I should have access to an advanced disclosure triangle which would allow me to adjust mid contrast, colour, radius, high tonal width and low tonal width.
If anyone has any suggestions as to how to access this advanced section, I'd be most grateful.Hi David-
The advanced adjustments in the Highlights & Shadows tool were combined into the "Mid Contrast" slider in Aperture 3.3 and later. If you have any images in your library that were processed in a version of Aperture before 3.3, there will be an Upgrade button in the Highlights & Shadows tool in the upper right, and the controls you asked about under the Advanced section. Clicking the Upgrade button will re-render the photo using the new version of Highlights & Shadows, and the Advanced section will be replaced with the new Mid Contrast slider. With the new version from 3.3 you probably don't need the Advanced slider, but if you want to use the older version you can download it from this page:

I've never had an issue with my sound on my MBP 15" 2011 model until I upgraded to Mavericks. Shortly after I upgraded, I started getting a 'popping' sound coming from the speakers even with the volume muted.
I'm trying to figure out what could be causing it by eliminating running programs but no luck yet. So far I've tried:
disabling graphic switching
disabling the Flash plug in for Chrome
Checking Voice over settings in accessibility (off)
Killing coreaudiod
So far, only killing coreaudiod has worked for any length of time.
I'm not playing a sound, I have nothing in the background that's generating sound (with the exception of MS Office 2013 running in Parallels generating meeting notification alerts - that seems to cause part of it) but something is obviously triggering it.
Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?Might be corrupted audio preferences ..
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following;
/Library/Preferences/Audio
Click Go then move both .plist files from the Audio folder to the Trash.
com.apple.audioDeviceSettings.pllist
com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist
Restart your Mac. See if that made a difference ... -

You will have to do the update manually for the app store version. Instructions are here:

(that's for 6.6 but the steps/file paths are the same for 6.7)

I have Adobe Photoshop CS4 and have just upgraded my Mac operating system to Yosemite with the newest version of Java 2014 running. When I try to access Photoshop from Bridge or directly open it asks for a Legacy Version of Java 6. As I am a pensioner I cannot afford an upgrade does anyone know of a work-around for this problem?
Hi Daddyfred,
CS4 Photoshop has not been tested on Yosemite. But still you can try the Java 6 update using the below link.

Over the years I have upgraded Acrobat Standard from version 8 to currently working with version X.
However, since getting a new laptop it doesn't work with Office 2013.
Can I upgrade to Standard XI?Upgrade pricing now only applies to version 9 and X. So if you have a retail serial number for X, you should be able to upgrade. (Or consider subscription).

I just upgraded to the 5s but the sales lady did not restore from my last backup with my 4s. How do I get my pictures and settings restored? I cannot seem to get it to give me that option. Can anyone tell me what to do? Thanks so much!
If the phone has already been set up, you will need to go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings to be able to go through the setup again. This time use Restore from Backup.
This will walk you through the setup screens:
