Upgrading ODI 11.5 to 11.6

Dear All,
I have installed ODI 11g (11.1.1.5.0) and would like to upgrade it to 11..1.6.0 to learn new features in ODI 11.6.
Can anyone tell me steps/process to do so, how to apply patches to ODI 11.5 to make it 11.6 ?From where to get those patches? How to upgrade master/ work repositories in 11.5 to 11.6?
I can strait a way download ODI 11.6 from oracle site, and install but would like to learn upgrade process, so would request for steps to acomplish the same.
Thanks and Regards

  • Upgrade ODI Upgrade 10.1. 3.4  to 10.1. 3.5

On windows 64bit 2003 server, with oracle db server 11.1.0.6 we have ODI Upgrade version 10.1. 3.4 in Dev Env.
We have many projects/models and 100 interfaces in the current version 10.1.3.4
We want to upgrade ODI to 10.1. 3.5
    1. What are the upgrade steps?
2 Is all interfaces will be work ok after upgrade?
    3. Will the export/import work?
    Thanks

Take a backup of your existing ODI 10.1.3.4
Copy /paste the ODI 10.1.3.5 "oracledi " into your existing ODI 10.1.3.4
You need to upgrade your master repository using oracledi\bin\mupgrade.bat ot .sh script .
Then upgrade your work repository from Topology .
You can now run interfaces, packages, etc developed with previous versions of Oracle Data Integrator.

  • Issue while upgrading ODI 10g to 11g

    Hello Gurus,
I am upgrading repositories of ODI 10.1.3.5 to ODI 11.1.1.6 using Upgrade Assistant utility.
We have cloned/replicated the database repositories for ODI Master & Work.
After giving all details it checks for schema version registry, ODI version & succeeds.
but when I see the Target database details, the information like schema name, connection string about Work Repository is pointing to Production i.e. ODI 10.1.3.5 actual repository.
whereas it should show target details for replicated database.
What could be done to make it point to replicated?
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Santy.

Also, I am upgrading ODI to 10.1.3.6 as we are supposed to load data into Essbase 11.1.2, will the existing version
    i.e. 10.1.3.5 will work with Essbase 11.1.2?

    Hi ORV,
If I remember well, you can skip the repository creation as the upgrade assistant will upgrade your 10g cloned reps to 11g reps.
You only need to install 11g standalone agent(s) to replace the 10g runtime agent(s).

  • Upgrade to ODI 11.1.1.7

    Hi,
I am trying to upgrade ODI 11.1.1.6 to ODI 11.1.1.7. I do have some confusion over here.
When I migrated ODI10g to ODI11g(11.1.1.6), I used UA.bat for it. that time, in Specified Target database of UA screen, I mentioned below details.
Connect string : database server of 11.1.1.6
DBA user : Sys as sysdba
    DBA password :
Master repository user name : ODI 11.1.1.6 Master repo schema
    Master repository passowrd :
ODI Supervisor Name: SUPERVISOR (10g username)
ODI Supervisor Password : (10g pwd)
    So I successfully migrate it.
But now, trying to upgrade ODI 11.1.1.6 to ODI 11.1.1.7 so giving details like in specified target database UA screen
Connect string : Current database server of 11.1.1.7+
DBA user : Sys as sysdba+
    DBA password :+
Master repository user name : ODI 11.1.1.7 Master repo schema+
    Master repository passowrd :+
ODI Supervisor Name: SUPERVISOR (11.1.1.6 username)+
    ODI Supervisor Password :  (11.1.1.6 pwd)+
But it is giving me error like SUPERVISOR password incorrect when click to next button on UA screen whereas I am able login into ODI 11.1.1.7
    Please note
    ODI 11.1.1.6 DB string --> 172.16.16.16:1521/devdb
    ODI 11.1.1.7 DB string --> 172.16.16.16:1521/devdb7
But when I am giving below details it is going to the next screen but I have confusion that then how it will do Upgrade the Repository. and if it upgrade the repository then how will i verify it ?
Connect string :  database server of 11.1.1.6
DBA user : Sys as sysdba
    DBA password :
Master repository user name : ODI 11.1.1.6 Master repo schema
    Master repository passowrd :
ODI Supervisor Name: SUPERVISOR (11.1.1.6 username)
ODI Supervisor Password :  (11.1.1.6 pwd)
Please let me know the solution.
    Thanks In advance.

You don't need to use Upgrade Assistant to move from 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7. Take a look at the Oracle Fusion Middleware Patching Guide here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/doc.1111/e16793/toc.htm

  • FDM & ERPI to FDMEE - Upgrade approach/challenges ?

    Hello,
We are in FDM/ERPI 11.1.2.2.300 (used for loading data from EBS and file systems into HFM 11.1.2.2.300) and planning to upgrade (within the existing environment [in-place upgrade]) to 11.1.2.3. As we see that FDM/ERPI are integrated together as FDMEE in 11.1.2.3, we had big grey area on how FDMEE would function in contrast to disparate FDM/ERPI.
We needed inputs from veterans or anyone who had experienced the upgrade to answer the follwing queries.
    Queries:
[1] We have come to know that FDM and ERPI are integrated together as FDMEE in 11.1.2.3.
[a] Since we have FDM and ERPI as separate components in 11.1.2.2.300, how should FDM and ERPI components be upgraded to FDMEE ? Any specific steps / approach that need to be followed ?
[b] Are there any known issues / challenges involved in upgrading from disparate FDM & ERPI to FDMEE ?
[c] How would ERPI artifacts (of 11.1.2.2.300) function in FDMEE - Are there any specific migration or any manual set-up required post-upgrade (to 11.1.2.3) to have ERPI artifacts (like source system, period mapping, location, import formats, data load mapping etc)      functioning in FDMEE ?
[d] Similarly how would FDM artifacts (from 11.1.2.2.300) function in FDMEE ? Are there any specific migration or manual set-up required post-upgrade (to 11.1.2.3) to have FDM artifacts (like mapping, validation rules etc) functioning in FDMEE ?
[2] Since only ODI 11.1.1.7 is compatible with 11.1.2.3 (from Compatability matrix), how do we upgrade ODI from 11.1.1.6 to 11.1.1.7 ? Are there any patch available to upgrade or should we uninstall ODI 11.1.1.6 and install ODI 11.1.1.7 ?
Any insightful response will be helpful for us as it would help us to gain clarity/confidence and comfort in upgrading to 11.1.2.3.
    Regards,
    Sathish

    hello Sathish
As you are upgrading from 11.1.2.2.300 to EPM 11.1.2.3 (within the existing environment [in-place upgrade]) , it's called Applying maintenance release EPM 11.1.2.3 on EPM 11.1.2.2
[a] when you apply maintenance release , FDM 11.1.2.2 gets upgraded to FDM 11.1.2.3 ,
and ERPi gets upgraded to FDMEE 11.1.2.3
[b] i have not faced any issue while upgrading FDM
[c] please check epm_install.pdf for EPM 11.1.2.3 for upgradation  task for FDM and FDMEE  (see page 257 / 258)

  • Steps to export various objects created in v10.1.3.5.6 ODI + steps to import back in v11.1.1.7 ODI

    All,
As we all do these days and for reasons mostly associated with budget constraints, I have been asked to wear a brand new hat - the "ODI Guru Hat" - at my client's site to facilitate the migration of their v11.1.1.x Hyperion EPM implementation to a v11.1.2.3.5xx Hyperion EPM implementation.
The v10.1.3.5.6 ODI objects\processes are currently set up to refresh a v11.1.1.3.x Planning application currently fall into 2 categories:
    1. metadata management (ie, updating the Planning application with the latest Account and Entity dimension changes from the SAP ERP); and,
    2. data management (ie, updating the Planning application with the latest data file from the SAP ERP).
The requirement at hand involves replicating everything currently set up to operate under the v10.1.3.5.6 ODI into a v11.1.1.7.x ODI instance. The v11.1.1.7.x ODI instance has been installed on a different server to the one on which v10.1.3.5.6 ODI instance is installed. Brand new master and work RDBMS repositories have also been created to host the v11.1.1.7 ODI
So far and not knowing much about ODI, I have exported as many objects as I could locate under the Designer\Operator\Security\Topology components of the v10.1.3.5.6 ODI instance before importing them back (using the Duplication method) into the v11.1.1.7.x ODI instance. Once imported, I have re-pointed the paths to different directories on the new servers.
I would like to know if there are any other steps I should be aware of and\or look into. Better still, I would appreciate it enormously if someone could point me into the right direction as to any documented best practice steps to follow to perform migrations from one ODI version to another, when both ODI instances have been installed on different servers.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cheers,
    JBM

    Hey,
Just export and import won't work with different versions. Using Upgrade utility(ua.bat), we need to upgrade to current version.
We should upgrade the ODI from 10g to 11g, then we can export objects from one environment to another.
Check the below link to upgrade ODI::
    11g Oracle Data Integrator - Upgrading from 10g - Part 4/11g - ODIExperts.com

    Any help will be appreciated.

Since the upgrade failed the first time your schema was left behind in inconsistent state. So you need to restore the backup of master and work and then retry the upgrade process.

  • Issue with ODI 11.1.1.5 with Essbase 11.1.2.1

    Hi all,
We have Just upgraded ODI 10.1.3.6 to ODI 11.1.1.5 both are using Oracle as the Repository.
After the Upgrade we do have issue with interface which extracts data from the Essbase 11.1.2.1 to Oracle DB
Essbase: LKM Herion Essbase DATA to SQL
    Staging: LKM SQL to Oracle
    Target: IKM Oracle Incremental Update
When we select the "Staging is diff from Target" the Flow Disappears, with a critical Error message
"Staging Area is loaded by an LKM but target datastore does not reference any columns from a source datastore. Either uncheck the box "Staging area different from target" or add source column references in the target."
This is reported as a bug by the development.
When this option is Unchecked the Flow appears again.
But even with the "Staging is diff from Target" is unchecked when i execute the interface i get the following error message,

To be honest I think you are best logging it with Oracle because it sounds like you are doing everything correctly so it could be a bug.
Have you tested this on any previous versions of ODI or is it a new installation?
If it does get logged with Oracle please keep me informed of the outcome as I would be interested to hear.
    Cheers
