the server is now listening on port 80>
The last time it occurred, I got them to take a thread dump and all
but one execution thread and the listener threads were idle. One
execution thread was busy reloading (or loading) a class from the war.
I've asked them to ensure that the reload period is -1, but that
shouldn't cause a 10 minute hang; plus nothing had changed. Red
herring?
As an experiment I wrote a servlet that just blocks its execution
thread: after about a thousand calls to this on our dev box, we get
<May 14, 2003 5:45:42 PM BST> <Critical> <WebLogicServer> <Failed to
listen on port 6001, failure count: 3, failing for 1,052,930,739
seconds, java.net.SocketException: Too many open files>
AFAIK this means that we've run out of file descriptors. Our client
doesn't get this, so I don't think that is happening to them.
A number of people on weblogic.* groups reported similar problems
about a year ago, but without any really definitive resolutions.
Anyone solved this, even by upgrading?

  • Need new license for upgrade of Sun Web 6.1 SP3 to SP5?

I want to update my Sun Java System Web Server 6.1 2004Q3 SP3 to Sun Java System Web Server (Multi-Platform) 6.1 SP5 International Edition (essentially going from 6.1 SP3 to SP5). Will this version work with the license that I purchased last November 2005? It seems some of these downloads have a trial license that expires, since it is a full-install rather than just an upgrade piece.

None of the Web Server 6.1 downloads are crippled or time bombed in any way. If you have a license for 6.1, you can (and should!) apply the latest 6.1 service pack without purchasing an additional license.
The 6.1 service pack downloads can be used for new installations or to upgrade an existing 6.1 installation. To upgrade an existing installation, run the setup program and instruct it to install to the directory that contains the existing installation.

  • Upgrade WLS 8.1 to SP3

    Hi all,
it seems there is no way to download only the SP3 for an WLS 8.1 (not SP2) upgrade. What is the preferred way to upgrade the 8.1 installation (the machines do not have direct internet access) ?
    Thanks,
    Mike

The upgrade installer for 81sp3 allows you to upgrade from all prior versions of 81 (GA or SP2). Upgrade installers are only available from the bea support site (not on the main download page).

  • Help needed on upgrading portal application from sp3 to weblogic portal 10

    Hi Guys
I have an application which is currently running on BEA Weblogic Portal 8.1 sp3. We need to upgrade our application from 8.1 sp3 to BEA Weblogic 10 version.
    (1) Is there any way for upgradation from 8.1 sp3 to portal 10 directly or do I need to upgrade it from sp3 to sp4 and then from sp4 to portal 10? Pls clarify?
    (2) How reliable are the BEAs automated scripts for retaining the personalization/customization of my application on sp3 to upgraded version i.e portal 10?
    (3) I believe, we do not need to do any coding/design changes/architectural changes into my application for this upgrade.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated
    Thanks
    Jameel

    1) I believe only sp4 and later to weblogic 10 is supported (http://www.bea.com/content/news_events/white_papers/BEA_WL_Portal10_ds.pdf)
so yes i think you need to upgrade from sp3 to a later version of the service pack
    2) You tell us :)
    3) Depends on your application and the features you have used. E.g. I believe Content management has changed between sp3 and what 10 supports.

  • Upgrading Weblogic server to move from jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 to 11.1.1.4.0

Hello, I would need clear direction to what I should do to upgrade my target weblogic server when I move my development environment from jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 to 11.1.1.4.0
Initial ADF project was developed with jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 and deployed on a WLS 10.3.0
Now we are upgrating the application and we decided to move the project to jdeveloper 11.1.1.1.4
I need help on what I should upgrade on the target WLS server.
How do we move from WLS 10.3.0 to WLS 10.3.4?
Is it a reinstall or a upgrade? How do we upgrade?
And what about just upgrating the ADF run time? Is it the way to go?
    At following link we see
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/downloads/index.html there is a Application development runtime is it the runtime that we install on the server or not?
I am confused if the ADF run time is tied with the WLS version or not, can someone give me a clear description of what is the ADF Runtime and how we upgrade it on the servers? Any Oracle documentation describing this process that I can provide to my server administrators?
At the end what is the best practice to upgrade the WLS servers when you would lilke to move like me from an older version of jdeveloper to a newer version. is there an Oracle document describing the steps to be done?
    Thanks

I'll echo Timo's question - why upgrade to 11.1.1.4 and not to the latest and greatest 11.1.1.6 (released yesterday)?
Upgrading to an older version basically means that you are setting yourself for another upgrade later on - so why not enjoy all the bug fixes and new features of the newer versions?
In terms of the upgrade process - if you look in the documentation tab of JDeveloper you'll see the book "Upgrade Guide for Oracle SOA Suite, WebCenter, and ADF" which gives the steps you can follow.
For 11.1.1.6 the book is here:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/upgrade.1111/e10127/toc.htm
In the same documentation tab you'll find the certification matrix that explains which ADF version works with which WLS version:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/index-091111.html

  • Hi, I have an iphone 3GS from HK. After upgrading to 4.3.3 from 4.3.2 as prompted by itunes on May 10, 2011 my entire contact in my iphone was wiped out! When I checked my backup file in Outlook Express it was also wiped out!!! What can I do now?

Hi, I have an iphone 3GS purchased in HK. After upgrading to 4.3.3 from 4.3.2 as prompted by itunes on May 10, 2011 my entire contact in my iphone was wiped out. When I checked my backed up file in Outlook Express, it was also wiped out during the synchronization. I tried to restore from backup on iTunes but still, the contact was not there anymore. I have contacted your HK Apple Hotline and talked to a technical support called TIMMY LO, he said there is nothing to do with them and he refused to provide any support to recover my contact, he even said I should try to pay extra money to 3rd party supplier and see what they can do to my iphone, despite the fact that this could be caused by the pre-mature release of 4.3.3 when a bug still hasn't been fixed. I am very disappointed at Apple's service, especially considering that I have been a loyal customer of iphone / ipod touch in the past few years. I need an official reply from Apple on this! How can Apple be so irresponsible to their own firmware failure??

Need to connect to upgraded Oracle EBS R12 version from R11. The current ODI set up is pointing to R11, Can i use the same connection to point to R12? Please hele experts...
    Rp

    1. in physical connections part can i use the same work schema
    2. Can i use same contexts created or do i need to create everything as new and then try?
    Thanks,
    Rp.
    Hi,
As you mentioned that you just upgraded the database, so the data is same and schema is same you can connect with the same work schema.
Yes, you can use the same contexts , but need to do Reverse Engineering for your new database.
And about data server, i think you also have no need to create new data server, if hostname, sid and port etc are same as these were with R11(consult with your DBAs regarding it)

  • Upgrading to LR 3.2 from 2.6 - Should I use the LR 3 box?

As I intend to upgrade to Lightroom 3.2 from 2.6, I wonder if I should use the upgrade box or donload a trial version and insert the key to be found in that box.
There was a thread lelated to migration from LR 1.4 to 2.2 ( http://forums.adobe.com/message/1394503#1394503 ) that strongly suggested passing over 2.0
    What is best?

It doesn't matter. The results are the same. Lightroom 3.2 is Lightroom 3.2 whether you download it or buy the box.

I agree ... skip 2.0, although this seems irrelevant to your title and first paragraph.

Then it states "Something happened and Windows 8.1 couldn't be installed. Please try again. Error code 0x80246007"'
    Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Rambler

    Hi,
According to your description, Windows 8 Operating System installed on your computer, right?
Did you update to Windows 8.1 via Windows Store?
If yes, follow Cyber_Defend_Team's suggestion, check if your computer meet the prerequisite.
After that, try to install Windows 8.1 for test.
If the issue persists, according to this blog to troubleshoot:
Something happened and the install of Windows 8.1 can't be completed. (And now you're annoyed)
