Depends upon how vanilla your install is. Assuming you've got sufficient hardware in place the install itself takes a few days (you'll want to run some test migrations to work out the kinks and perfect the process). Once the physical work is done its the testing and validation that takes all the time.

Oracle Financials AP 11i tables Vs R12 tables

Hello,
I have a package that works in Oracle Apps 11i instance. This package is using 11i tables in its cursors. we are moving this package to r12 and thus this package has to run in r12 using r12 tables. I have heard that a lot of tables have been changed from 11i to r12 in oracle financials. here is the code.
Some of the tables in the AP that were used in 11i were AP_BANK_ACCOUNTS_ALL, AP_BANK_BRANCHES, AP_CHECKS_ALL,
AP_INV_SELECTION_CRITERIA_ALL,
fnd_lookup_values_vl. I need to know their R12 counterparts or the R12 tables that needs to be inserted here.

While applying Functional Prerequisites patch 2304444 im getting error in d driver so how can i proceed

Please note that (Patch 2304444 - Marketing Online Release 11.5.7B) is already included in 11.5.9, 11.5.10, and 11.5.10.2, and you are already on 11.5.10.2. So, why would you need to apply this patch?

step1: I creat a sales order.
step2: run MRP for A.
step3: transfer the purchase requistion into a purchase order,and the field of acc.***.cat. in the purchase order will be filled out M automatically, because the acc.***.cat. in the planning strategy 20(MTO) is set with E.
    Well, the purchase order is created, what is the relationship between the sales order and the purchase order? What will be happened about costing between the SO and the PO?
    If I delete the E, I make the PO become a standard PO, what is difference between standard PO and the PO including E?

Upgrading Oracle Applications Rel 11i manual page 4-2 lists three upgrade steps for Oracle Common Modules.
Step 1: Delete all AK data for Production 16 Global Demo databases (conditionally required)
Step 2: Check for invalid AK data in non-Global Demo databases (condionally required)
Step 3: Fix invalid data in non-Global Demo databases (conditionally required)
My Questions:
1. What is AK data?
2. What is the difference between a Global Demo database and a non-Global Demo database?
3. Does the AutoUpgrade utility migrate the data from the Global Demo and non-Global Demo databases to the Vision database?

What is the business downtime to allow Oracle Financials upgrade

We are shortly to embark on an upgrade from Oracle Financials
10.7to 11i. We will be implementing MRC and EFC at a later
stage.
We have tested upgrade process in two test environments. I'd
appreciate views from anyone who's completed an upgrade or who
knows something about it as to how many hours/days it takes to
carry out the upgrade. How many business days Down Time for
Financial Systems are typical??
Would be very greatful for responses on this as soon as
possible.

Upgrading Oracle Federal Financials

We have a client that is considering upgrading Oracle U.S. Federal Financials Version 3.3 for Release 11.0.3 to Release 11i.
I've reviewed Upgrading Oracle Applications for Release 11i and it doesn't specifically address Oracle Federal Financials.
Does anyone know if we can follow the upgrade steps for Oracle Financials or has Oracle defined specific upgrade steps for Oracle Federal Financials.

Guys, I applied ATG.PF.H.RUP4. In postinstall steps it is mentioned,Upgrading Oracle XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 with Oracle Applications 11i(doc-271148.1)
which says after applying patch 4038964 do the following--
AUTOCONFIG ENABLED APPLICATIONS ENVIRONMENT
If the Oracle E-Business Suite configuration files are maintained using the AutoConfig infrastructure, proceed with the following:
1. Run the AutoConfig utility.
2. Go to [JAVA_TOP].
3. Run the unzip -l appsborg2.zip | grep 9.0.4 command. If there is a file named as .xdkjava_version_9.0.4.0.0_production, which indicates that XML Parser for Java v9.0.4 is installed correctly as part of appsborg2.zip. Otherwise, run ADAdmin to regenerate the appsborg2.zip file.
4. Restart the application tier server processes such that the new version of Oracle XML Parser for Java will take effect.
but actually the patch is already applied- 4038964. How do i verify if i need to do these steps or not.
The xmlparserv2-904.zip file is already there in wrapper.classpath. of jserv.properties, forms.properties. So i think i dont need to do these steps.

Actually sometime back we tried to upgrade to 10g which failed and then i did clone it from prod. I installed 10g software,companion products,10.20.4 patch set on new oracle_home-/u05/fatstdb/10g
I believe rest of inventory is clean as i always create a empty oraInventory directory before cloning.
DBUA also gives message, that if you do not see database that you want, make sure that the entry with database name exists in file /var/opt/oracle/oratab file.
I think i will have to edit the file oratab manually to remove the entry "FATST:/u02/fatstdb/10g:N" as the desired entry is already there. Is this okay?
Also i manually copied init<sid>.ora from 9ihome/dbs to 10ghome/dbs modifying the required parameters. i want to know is this manual step required?

I did that and restarted the DBUA. It went on smoothly but during the Post-install steps, the putty connection was lost and hence GUI also got lost. when i see the PostUpgrade.log

I also managed to shutdown and startup the 10g db successfully.
I checked the database upgrade step and in that it is mentioned that utlrp.sql is the last step in manual database upgrade step .I want to know is there any other post upgrade step that needs to be done or can i just continue the steps from Doc ID: 362203.1 Oracle Applications Release 11i with Oracle 10g Release 2 (10.2.0)

What exactly are you intending to do to Oracle Apps ? You suggest you are a developer, but Oracle Apps are already developed, by Oracle. Do you want to develop peripheral applications, or become an administrator, or what ?
