Upgrading OSX server from 2 to 3.1 and the update is hung on "updating services". Anyone run into this?
I have tried restoring my backup and repeating the Mavericks and server upgrade and have the same result.
How long have you let it go? My initial upgrade seemed to hang at the same spot, but it ended up moving on after about 30 minutes.
Be sure to repair disk permission and check for errors before getting started.

Although no database was created, it should allow me to connect to sqlplus using
SQL>connect / as sysdba in order to access system tables."connect" means connect to a database, and system tables are within a database. If you don't have any, then no system tables.
And I have already configure the listener.The listener is independent from databases, it listens for any databases registered with it.
It may be running, but if no active databases, it listens for nothing. -
I installed OSX server 10.6 snow leopard on my IMAC, but still have choppy videos. can anyone tell me how to fix the problem
By your use of "still", did this problem exist before OS X Server was installed? OS X Server itself has no particular linkages to video processing, beyond what OS X client provides.
Some details on the configuration might be useful. Are these videos you're having issues with stored locally in files, or are these videos received over the network and played? If the videos are local, have you tried playing the videos from a different disk? If the video files are remote, can you download the videos and play them as a test?
What software are you using to play the videos? QuickTime? QuickTime X? Does using VLC or another player work better? There are some discussions of choppy videos around the forums, too. -

Is there any other server from vmware which supports OSGI and works similar to all functionalities of vFabric tc server?

Per my understanding that you are doing the migration from SSRS 2005 to SSRS 2008 and now you are re-creating the 3500 subscriptions in the SSRS 2008, so you want to the new created subscription in SSRS 2008 will be pause and not execute at this time, right?

OSX server 3.0.3 wiki issues using the iPad
Hello,
I just got the new OSX server 3.0.3 Maverics installed and everything seems to work fine except for going to the Wiki using an iPad. The Mac and the iPhone work fine but when you try and go to the wiki using the iPad it try's to redirect to https://domainname/wiki/ipad/#route=/wiki/ipad/ but it won't work. I just get a blank page on the iPad.
Any idea how to fix this. It's driving me crazy.

Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

When I try to share a project to theater I get the message Your Theater could not be opened.There was a problem reading your movies from iCloud and the project does not share. Can anyone help?

If you are signed in to iCloud, movies and trailers shared to iMovie Theater are automatically uploaded to iCloud. If you sign out of your iCloud account on your Mac, all iCloud movies disappear from the Theater, but they are not deleted; the movies reappear when you sign in again. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You can also re-download the Lion installer by opening the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key and click on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. You should now see an active Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. There are situations in which this will not work. For example, if you are already booted into the Lion you originally purchased with your Apple ID or if an instance of the Lion installer is located anywhere on your computer. -

I am exporting from InDesign to a PDF and the page is larger in the PDF then others I have exported. Is this because of the PDF presents? One of the project managers is not able to print it out on 8.5 x 11 paper, but the document presets for InDesign are the same as before. I wish I could upload the PDFs to show, but the newly exported PDF is larger than the version I created a month ago. I created a PDF binder and the newly updated PDF is almost a .5 inch wider with the same export presets. Any thoughts?Sadira00123456789 wrote:

I suspect the project manager simply has his/her copy of Reader/Acrobat set to print at actual size, rather than "Fit" (assuming the InDesign page size is truly 8.5 x 11).

It would have nothing to do with export presets. How are you determining that half-inch difference? -
I downloaded several cds to my external hard drive in .mp3 format. Later, I copied them to iTunes. The songs only play when the external hard drive is plugged in. I tried to load the songs from iTunes to my iPhone and the songs don't play. I thought iTunes allowed me to transfer music to my iPhone and play it. What am I doing wrong?

When adding music to iTunes, you can set it to either make a local copy of the file, or simply point to the original location of the file (for example, on an external hard drive). If it is set to do the latter, it will not be able to play or transfer those files when the external hard drive is not plugged in. You may find the following article helpful:

I am running OSX 10.6.8 and when I try to install the latest security update there is an unknown error and the update cannot be implemented. I still have to restart my computer each time I try. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
I tried using the downloaded update. It still didn't work but at least I did not have to restart my computer. The message was a little different too: "The installation failed. The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."Run through this list of fixes, either something is corrupted or you have malware that's blocking the update.
