Upgrading phone at 12 months on  a single phone plan at $59.99

Okay so in February I bought the original Motorola Droid. At the time I was thinking about just signing up for a one year plan but I wanted to use my NE2 discount so i went with the two year agreement. I had heard that if you had the $59.99 plan or higher you could upgrade the phone at 12 months instead of the 20 months. (I want to point out that I only have one phone on my plan so no family plan) When I called a few days later about something the guy on the phone told me that that was true but since I hardly even used 450 minutes to just sign up for the $39.99 plan and after 8 months go back up to the $59.99 plan so that I would not have to pay so much over those months. He said I just had to pay the $59.99 for at least 3 months prior to the 12 months. So last month I changed my plan to the $59.99 plan since February 2011 would be 12 months.
Today when I called because I had to make payment plans for my bill I wanted to be reassured that I could get a new phone in february so i asked the lady if it was accurate. My Verizon still said that my upgrade wasnt until 10/04/2010. She told me that she had no clue what I was talking about because they dont decide upgrade times on you plan pricing. That its all just two years. I know if you have a primary phone on a family plan you get an upgrade every 12 months and I also heard if your plan is $49.99 or more it is 12 months. I got upset because for 2 months now I have been paying over $20 more a month hinking I could upgrade but since she said I couldnt I told her just to change my plan back to the $39.99 plan. I was going to ask for a refund of the last two months of paying $20 more but she was being kind of bitchy so I didnt even worry about it. I figured I will just go into a store when I go home from college in a week.
Pretty much I just want to know if I am able to upgrade at 12 months if I had the $59.99 calling plan on my phone plan. Like I said I just have the one phone. On top of that I am payign for everything else so my new bills were like $140-$150 for november and december.

I changed my base calling plan to the $59.99 from the $39.99. On top of the $59.99 for 900 minutes(I dont even use 200 of the minutes) I also pay $20 for texting and the $29.99 for data plus everything like insurence, etc. I probably shouldnt have told her to change my plan back until i talked with someone else but I was so upset. Like I said I will just go into a store and ask someone. I just wanted to get more input from people here on what they knew.

  • Total monthly cost of single line plan?

What would be the total monthly cost if I get the 2GB data for $60? Is there a fee for line access also?

No, there is not also a line access fee. Taxes would be additional as would any data overages/insurance/ringback tones/etc... Otherwise, only $60.

  • Single Line Plan vs More Everything Plan

I have gone to several different Verizon stores now and cannot get an answer for my questions. When I asked about the single line plan I get different answers. One store told me that the single line plan is $60/month for 2GB of data for 24 months. This same store told me that I would also receive 1 free GB of data for 24 months on the single line plan. The other store told me that they never heard of this $60 plan and told me that the single line plan would be $110/month.
So my question is which is it? Is it $60/month for 2GB of data plus 1 free GB of data for 24 months or not?

@LucasV Was it me? Was I the one who previously mentioned it was a device feature? I bet it was me.
So, yeah, I agree 100% with everything you're saying above, except for the part that isn't true, which is the sad part that says I don't need anything from Verizon to use mobile hotspot. They, for some reason, have control over that particular device feature, as, (I suppose) they believe that they, as the data service provider, are providing me with some sort value-added service when I use mobile hotspot, even though it's just my phone passing data to my computer over a completely separate connection — and I've already paid Verizon for the data itself. Anyway, they've assessed the value of that particular service at about $20-30 a month, every month. Otherwise, I can't unlock mobile hotspot on my phone. Hence, my frustration.

  • How do I switch from a basic phone to a smart phone on the single line plan?

I currently have a basic phone on a basic phone plan. My contract expired ages ago, so I'm just month to month at the moment. I want to upgrade my phone to an iPhone 5c, and my plan to the single line plan--unlimited talk and text, 1GB of data. However, when I try to place this order online, it defaults automatically to the More Everything plans, which would end up costing me about $20 more than the single line plan for the same amount of data. I can't seem to change it to the single line plan. How on earth do I make the switch? O.o

Go into a Verizon Wireless Corporate Store and do it there.

  • I wish to Downgrade Phone plan & Upgrade Broadband...

    Hello,
I am currently on the Unlimited Evening & Weekend Calls Phone Calling Plan with 10GB limit Broadband Plan.
Because I use the internet more than I use the phone, I would like to be able to downgrade my Phone plan to Weekend Calls and upgrade my Broadband plan to Unlimited Broadband. Therefore costing me £1 extra a month overall since the Phone Downgrade would be £2 less a month and the Broadband Upgrade would be £3 extra a month.
I'm unable to downgrade my Phone plan online but is it possible for this to be done? Maybe by BT over the phone or something?
If so, please can you somebody tell me how i can set this up and what number to call?
And again if that can be done, I would then change my Broadband plan to the Unlimited Broadband at £13/month which I can do myself online.
Just thought it would be ideal to get it all done at the same time online or over the phone, preferably without having to speak to someone in India.
Please can somebody get back to me soon on this and let me know soon?
    Thanks.

Well what a waste of time and effort that was trying to call BT yesterday!!!
Because I just bought a BT Sport viewing card, my whole BT account resets again from new and I have to wait 12 months if I want to change my phone package
They are afraid of me wanting to leave BT within 12 months  I told them I've never attempted to try and leave BT. If I went with anyone else I wouldn't be able to use BT Vision. Can't they see that?  I certainly wouldn't go back to Sky. Virgin isn't available in my area.
They are more than welcome for me to spend more money and upgrade my Internet to Unlimited Broadband but can't downgrade the phone line until 12 months has elapsed after buying the viewing card
They kept saying 'BT Sport is free'. I said 'How can it be free, I had to pay £10 for a viewing card'. They said again 'BT Sport IS free'. It might be free AFTER you buy a viewing card with no subscription to pay. I said that if I had to pay anything over £0 and 0 pence then it's not free!
So had I changed my package before getting the viewing card, they may have been OK with that, but now I have to wait until 12 months has elapsed after buying my viewing card about 3 weeks ago
I'm not happy with you one bit BT
I ended up slamming the phone down on them

  • My contract has ended. Can I preorder an iPhone 6 and switch over to the $60/2GB per month single line plan?

When attempting to upgrade my phone on the website, there is no option to select the single line plan during checkout. Can I purchase the iPhone on the website and then call customer service to switch over to the single line plan? This plan is shown here: Single Line Cell Phone Plan from Verizon - Verizon Wireless

  • Payment Plan for  Upgrade Phones

I think Verizon should have a payment plan for new upgrade phones.  I have been a long time Verizon customer and in years past when my plan would come up for a replacement phone I always choose one of the top phones and upgraded for about $50.   In today's time, due to Technology, to upgrade to say an I Phone runs around $300 by the time you get tax (CA), new charger- home and car as well as a hands free device.   To pay that Big amount the next month on my bill is the reason I am holding back getting one and I want the best because new phones are always coming out and we will have a better ones and the focus is everything going mobile.  If I could split that total into 2 payments, it would be a lot easier for me and I would be at the store tomorrow buying one.  I think Verizon should do this  because they would increase their phones sales immediately.  No Other Phone Company is doing this and they could pick up new customers from companies that do not offer this.  First to the Marketplace to do this has BIG Value.
In this Economy, Verizon could create a way to increase their sales and  a sense of Goodwill to help the consumer at the same time...Novel Idea!!!!!!

Pay for the phones and service up front or use a credit card (as SydneyK suggested) ...Verizon isn't going to finance the phone purchase. They are in the business of providing wireless service, not financing equipment purchases.
I can imagine prices would go up if they ever WERE to do this, since I'm sure there would be defaults that the rest of us would cover with increased rates. No, thanks...

  • Upgrading Phones Question?

As of now I'm on a family plan with my mom, and I'll be able to upgrade my phone pretty soon. So here's my question; Does it cost anything to upgrade phones. I want to upgrade my Samsung Rouge to a HTC Thunderbolt, but I seen that the Thunderbolt is like $250 with a 2 year contract(which is what we have). I was just wondering if I would have to pay all of that or just some of it or what?

When your upgrade date comes up, you would pay $249 for the TB and have a new  year agreement. If you do not already have an unlimited data plan you will need to add that for $29.99/month.

  • How can I save my photos from my camera roll, my photo stream on the icloud so that I don't lose my photos if I upgrade phone or just because I need space and I don't want to delete or lose pictures.

Can I save my camera roll pics, my photo stream pics from my iphone 5 into icloud so I don't lose pics if I upgrade phone or because I need space

    No.
iCloud isn't a file storage service.
You can backup your camera roll but you can only restore the entire roll to the device.
Backup your photos to your computer.

since upgrading phone to iOS 5. I have an old macbook pro and it is running snow leopard OS 10.6.8. I have a minimum of 40 recurring events per week, several of which change. I use the information to schedule future appointments based on those changes and it's causeing a major problem to not have the changes sync. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Did you try to replace the calendar info on the phone with the one on your Mac? You can find this option in iTunes/Info pane, Advanced section.

The advertised fee is now $9.99 per month for a single product.
Where are you seeing that? I still see Single App membership at US$19.99/month.
Creative Cloud free trial & plans : Adobe Creative Cloud
The only US$9.99/month offering is Photoshop+Lightroom.
So I guess you're asking to swap from the Photoshop Single App Plan to the Photography Plan (PS+LR)?

  • PC Suite Upgrade : Phone (N70) not supported

    Hi
Just upgraded to latest version of PC Suite and have hit problems. Prior to upgrade phone and PC were connecting fine with no problems.
Now when establishing connection between phone and PC receive following message :'PC Suite does not support the connected phone. PC Suite settings file is missing from the the phone. Switch off your phone, switch it on, and try again.' The phone then appears to connect but none of the PC Suite offers are available, presumably as the phone is not being supported. Switching the phone off/on makes no difference.
No other changes to the phone have occurred since the connection was ok, the only change is upgrade of PC Suite.
I am running Windows XP SP2, PC Suite 6.81.13.0, connecting via cable or Bluetooth yields same result, using N70 on Vodafone firmware V 5.0609.2.0.1 01-03-06 RM-84.
Have tried completely uninstalling PC Suite and reinstalling to no avail. Wondered if I needed to upgrade the N70 firmware and attempted to use the new Software Updater but this crashed.
Quite frankly I haven't got time to mess around trying all sorts of things so any help would be much appreciated.

Hi - I have not experienced this problem before but there are things you can check to rule out certain possible causes.
From what I can remember when you upgrade PC Suite, there's an element of it which it installs onto the phone - was that done successfully ?
Also - it isn't 100% clear from your message, but I presume you're attempting to connect to PC Suite via Bluetooth - does your PC->Bluetooth work OK with other devices ?
If not this indicates you have a Bluetooth centred problem.
Next thing to check - can you connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable ? If so then this also points to a Bluetooth problem.
The fact that the software updater crashed is not a good thing - the update can only be done via USB and not Bluetooth - what message do you get when you try to do the Software Updater ?
If it's a Bluetooth centred issue, then make sure you redo the syncing process - it's wizard driven so should be quite easy to do.
    Hope this helps.
Let me know how you get on.Message Edited by edwardquan on 23-Aug-2006

  • Upgrade phone for someone else

I'm looking to purchase a smartphone for someone for Christmas.  She is eligible for a "new every two" phone, but we are not on the same plan.  My question is, would I have to pay the full retail price for this phone if she is going to renew and upgrade her plan when she activates it?  Or, can I somehow still purchase it at the "2 yr contract" discounted price?

    - Take a "surprise" trip to the Verizon store to buy it.
Exactly what my kids did for me for Mother's Day when they got me my new (now ready for upgrade)  phone.  Somehow they had it all activated and paid for and all I did was sign the paperwork (as I'm the account owner) and walk out of the store with my new phone.
A gift certificate would work just as well - some people do prefer to handle the details on their account on their own...

  • Upgrading AGP Graphics Processor; Dual vs. Single

So i just received a pair of old G4 towers. They're both AGP Graphics 400mhz machines, and i'm thinking of upgrading the processors on both. From what i understand from reading through the forums, they can take an OEM processor from some of the newer G4 towers. I've checked, and both machines have Uni-North numbers greater than 7 (one is 7, the other is 8), so they both can accept dual processors. Trying to weigh my options and decide what's best, taking into consideration that the bus on the AGP machine is only 100mhz compared to 133/167mhz bus on the faster processors...
    1. Single 1ghz/933mhz/867mhz processor (will run underclocked)
    2. Dual 500mhz processor (will run true @ 1ghz due to the 100mhz bus on the AGP machine)
    2. Dual 1ghz/800mhz Processor (will run underclocked)
Thoughts? This would no doubt be a cheap upgrade, there are plenty of processors on eBay for under $100, and that makes it worthwhile for me.
    Thanks in advance!

    1. Single 1ghz/933mhz/867mhz processor (will run underclocked)
This will also require a 12v power modification to use a QS processor in a sawtooth.
    2. Dual 500mhz processor (will run true @ 1ghz due to the 100mhz bus on the AGP machine)
This will run a true +500 MHz+, not 1 GHz. The dual processor just increases multi-thread processing ability. They do not double the clock speed.
But, this is a plug and play upgrade, and a nice improvement over a single 400 MHz processor.
    2. Dual 1ghz/800mhz Processor (will run underclocked)
Again, there are voltage differences in the machine's which must be overcome.
You can find information on the actual modifications needed Here.
If you are capable of doing the mod work, I think it would be a fun project, and provide a boost to the old machines.
