Upgrading Photoshop CS6 using the cloud.

Every time I try to upgrade Photoshop CS6 with the cloud I get error U44MIP7. Then after a few weeks it upgrades ok. Any ideas? I don't think Adobe is really ready to prime time on the cloud yet.

It appears the 13.0.1.2 update is the problem.
Here is a summary of the fix:
1) UNinstall Photoshop (no need to uninstall anything else in CS6)
2) Reboot your computer (just to make sure nothing is hanging around in memory)
3) Install Photoshop and immediately quit the Creative Cloud app
4) Run photoshop
5) Go to HELP > UPDATES
6) EXPAND the update group and UNselect the 13.0.1.2 update
7) Apply the 13.1.2 update

  • I cannot download Photoshop CS6 from the cloud

I had a beta version of Photoshop CS6 on my Macbook (OS X 10.7.4) and forgot to uninstall it before downloading Photoshop CS6 through the Adobe Application Manager. When I tried to download Photoshop CS6 I received an error message in the Adobe Application Manager that read "A beta version of this product exists on the computer. Please quit and uninstall that version before continuing."
I clicked 'Cancel' then quit the Application manager and uninstalled the beta version that I had. I also used spotlight to find any other files that went with the beta verision I had and then trashed all of the files, emptied the trash and restarted my computer.
After doing all of that I've tried numerous times to download Photoshop CS6 but I keep getting the error message that I still have a beta version of Photoshop CS6 installed.
I've searched my computer and cannot find any files that pertain to that beta application.
I don't know what else to do and I REALLY need Photoshop CS6 asap.
I'm not having any issues downloading the other CS6 applications through the App Manager, only Photoshop, which is the most iportnat program I need.

    Nevermind!
I just found out about the 'Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool' and downloaded it and ran the tool. Thankfully it found a driver for Photoshop CS6 (beta) that was stilled installed on my computer. I was able to uninstall the driver and trash it. Right now Photoshop seems to be downloading successfully from the App manager. Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't run into any other issues!
If anyone else is running into a similar issue that I was having download the 'Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool' and run it on your computer.

  • CS4: upgrade to CS6 or the Cloud?

I currently have CS4, and have bought a new Mac which wants me to downgrade Java to 6. Should I upgrade from CS4 to CS6 instead or, if possible, upgrade to the cloud. I consider myself a novice+ CS user.

There is no upgrade path from CS4 to CS6. You can only upgrade to CS6 from CS5+.
If you wanted CS6, you'd have to pay full price.
The Cloud is a viable option and you can get a discounted rate for the first 12 months. After that, you pay normal price. Just bear in mind that the Cloud is subscription only. When you stop paying your monthly fee, the software stops working.
It's really up to you and how you use the software as to whether the Cloud is worthwhile for you. Perhaps download the trial version and take it for a spin for free for up to 30 days.

  • Why is using Photoshop CS6 as the touchup image editor for Acrobat still a complete failure?

Image objects in pdfs are losing their positional and other parameters when saved after editing with Photoshop CS6(ONLY).  The problem was acknowledged on the Photoshop forum three months ago, but they said it was up to the Acrobat folks to fix it.  When using most previous versions of Photoshop (CS2-CS5 all tested) as the touchup image editor, Acrobat was able to place the image right back into it's previous position in the pdf and it could  do this without releasing whatever path was used to crop or mask the image (basically it worked great).  However, using Photoshop CS6 as the touchup image editor is still a complete failure.  Any idea when or if this will be fixed?
    Thanks

My IMAC has a 10.6 operating system and I am trying to learn how to use the cloud to store pictures and upload files etc from my iphone.  Do I need to upgrade my operating system and how do I do that?

You need to upgrade = purchase Lion in order to use iCloud on your iMac.  I use Dropbox with Snow Leopard.  No need to upgrade.

  • Why Has Adobe Removed The Option For Individuals To Purchase Software And Not Use The Cloud?

As an individual who has been using Adobe products for about 25 years for my personal use and not as a business, I find the new policy of "renting" the software and using "The Cloud" for, at least in my case, a prohibitive monthly fee, to be totally unacceptable and will result in my no longer being able to afford using Adobe products.   I do not understand why Adobe cannot offer their new cloud program for individuals and companies that may wish to use the new system and have the resources to pay in perpertuity, but they should also have the option for those of us who would rather purchase upgrades for whatever programs we use and keep them on our computer without "The Cloud" service.
I am 67 years old and living on a fixed income.  I basically use four adobe programs... Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects, and Audition as I do volunteer work at a local non-profit radio and tv organization.  If I were to "rent" those individually it would cost $80 per month... so I could take the next deal and get access to all software for $50 per month... I cannot afford either of those.  If I could upgrade one or more of the  programs every two or three years... keeping them on my computer and not using "The Cloud," then continuing to use the products would be doable.  However, being forced into a program that requires a monthly fee and use of "The Cloud" which I do not need to use, seems totally unfair.   I certainly understand that there are  businesses and individuals who will love the new program, but why not have the option?  Or perhaps a "Senior" discount as you do for educators and students?
Something to think about.  It seems Adobe may be moving to the "Cable Television" model of monthly fees that will go no where but up.

Hey there, you may have heard that Adobe is continuing to sell and support CS6 for customers who prefer traditional licensing.  It's last year's version instead of the latest-and-greatest CC release, but it's something to consider if that's important to you.
As far as a "senior discount" on Adobe software, there has never been one – but one thing to consider is becoming a student or teacher because there is no age restriction on that, in which case you may become eligible for education discounts.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do I stop iTunes from using the cloud?

I use iTunes primarily for listening to podcasts.  I recently upgraded to version 11.1.
Now, it used to be that I'd refresh podcasts, download the subscribed ones, listen to them, delete them. done.  I just opened iTunes and under one of the podcasts, there were about a hundred old ones; I used to be able to show everything on one page, now I have to scroll 4 or 6 pages to see what I want.  The "new" podcasts have a little cloud icon, so I guess that's where they are, or downloaded from.
Two questions:  how do I delete these files, and how do I stop from using the cloud for podcasts?
(This is a repeat question, because SoonerDoc1 marked it as solved, and it's not)

That doesn't fix it as the podcast with the cloud logo show up as/in unplayed, I subscribe to CNET First Look Podcasts, some download and some don't download but have a cloud logo. Seems very random. iTunes is a badly written application that is getting worse after every new release.  If iTunes doesn't improve soon I'll downgrade to iTunes 10.7 which was just about use-able. for the second time.

  • Photoshop CS6 and the iMac

    Hello,
I use Photoshop CS6 on a 2009 MacBook Pro and it runs great. I have 8GB of RAM
I am going to be purchasing a 27" iMac soon, but i have heard there are a lot of problems with Photoshop and Mavericks working together.
I am a computer novice so i am wondering if i should wait to get the iMac or if with a new machine and a new version of Photoshop CS6 i will be able to use Photoshop CS6 on the new iMac without any issues.
Please let me know your thoughts.
    Thanks so much,
    rick

    See > http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/mac-os-mavericks-compatability.html
Photoshop CS6 is compatible with OS X Mavericks, but it is true that there are issues. See > https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5475799
As you can see, there are tricks that have worked for some users, so it is up to you to wait or to get the iMac now. Adobe may release Photoshop CS6 updates in the future to make it work better in Mavericks
