Yes i wanted to know if i could upgrade the processor on my HP 2000 329wm laptop without braking it or ruinning it in any type of way because my pc isn't working so well at the momment and i want to know if i could replace/upgrade the processor to a better one with more ghz

Based on the specs of your HP 2000-329WM Notebook Computer and the HP 2000 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide for your computer, you would have to replace the system board because the CPU/APU is soldered to it.

HP 2000-329WM Notebook PC - recovery of Windows7

I installed Garmin Express to update maps on my New Garmin GPS, and I let the Map Update run un-attended as it was taking 3+ hrs, when I returned after 5hrs, the Map Update has completed the Windows Frozen, would not respond .. It had to be forced rebooted with the Power button, that's it.... it never worked after that. the GPS works fine.
After several attempts, I tried the recovery disks (I made at the time of purchase) it says no restore ponits available ....
I am not sure it was some thing to do with Garmin or this was just a coincidence. I can boot with a live Ubuntu CD and see the Windows partion, and the files in it . . .
I have a MS office installed from my University ... will I loose that too in a full recovery?

Before you start here is a link on Backup.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system it will help with things that were installed at the time of purchasing the Notebook.
Before you begin a recovery from the hard drive, be sure there are no USB or external devices attached to your computer. Only hardware which was shipped with the computer, such as the mouse and monitor, should be attached to the computer.

1. HP has not tested. May be at the end few missing drivers, our friends here will help you.
2. Yes, up to 8Gb (4Gb x 2) . Please use the second manual of the following link to buy the right RAM:

the document also shows you how to replece RAM.
3. Yes, you can go up to 1Tb or more but 1TB is the sweet range. My suggestion use Device manager to find out the manufacturer (under Disk drives section) and buy HDD from same manufacturer.

Is it possible to install 3.0 USB port on HP 2000 410 Notebook?

Hello Experts!
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on a new HP 2000-410 notebook. It has a 2.20 GHz Intel Pentium B960 processor and 3.85 GB of RAM.
While I can see it might be relatively simple to upgrade through an expansion port on a desktop computer, I don't know what might be possible on a laptop.
Amazon assures me it can be done, but before I try to figure out how to install a PCIe in the motherboard, I thought I'd best ask the experts first.
Is it possible?
If so, is it worth it? Would I need an independent power supply, too?
I'd appreciate any advice. I thank you for your expertise in advance.

You mention you are performing an installation of Windows. Is this an upgrade situation? What operating system is currently installed and what are you upgrading to? You may want to take a look at this page, and see if it helps.
You can replace the motherboard by looking at your Maintenance and Service Guide, but the software hanging up does not necessarily mean the motherboard is defective. Are you experiencing other issues and error messages? If so, what are they?

hardsoldered cpu... size...power consumption..
thats a netbook not a notebook...
most "books" are not designed to upgrade ... its not a pc, where you can easy change parts (also limited intel/amd/via not compatible) (heatspreader,powerful psu.)...
many thing depends on each other...heat consumption (cooling system) power consumption...
chipset...grafics...
so the only things you can upgrade , and thats easy in case of S10 ... memory up to 2GB, harddrive (or SSD) up to 500GB (or more but bigger harddrive didnt see now) ... and with a little more experience faster wireless card (n) or bluetooth modul...

Time to upgrade processor?

Upgraded HD to 250 GB, added DVD read write now I need to upgrade processor. Help. Have had G4 since late 2001. Absolutly no problems. Have kept software updated also. Would like to upgrade to new OS Leopard but processor speed only 800mhz, need more. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Budget allows about $400 dollars. Also with a processor upgrade can I increase ram? Right now Im maxed at 1.5g

You have to buy a new laptop or swap the system/motherboard or buy an Express card - USB 3 (I've got one) or PC card - USB 3. For desktop , this is much simpler, a PCI - USB 3 card will do.

Two months ago I bought the notebook HP Compaq 15-a024sg Notebook 15,6.
I'm using Windows 7 64 bit.
Now I'm back from vacations and I want to use the SD-Card (cause my holiday pictures from my camera are at a sd-card).
But Windows doesn't mount the sd card. The hardware manager in Windows tells me there is a conflict with an PCI-device.
Which driver contains the correct driver for the sd card reader? I was thinking the intel chipset driver contains the sd card reader...
Which driver do I have to install? Has it to do with the conflict (yellow exclamation mark) in the windows hardware manager?

My employer acquired a Compaq Presario C500 Notebook

My employer acquired a Compaq Presario C500 Notebook, PN: RQ337UA that is out of warranty. The hard drive has been damaged beyond repair and was not returned with the laptop. I need to purchase a hard drive & OS. How can I find out what drivers i need? I thought I could go to HP's website and input the PN and SN to bring up the laptop configuration, no such luck. Decompress driver audio Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 and Equalizer with the 7-Zip software.
Once installed, do a right click on the file sp30578.exe, select 7-Zip/extract the files and then click OK.
Force the installation of the driver manually:
In the device manager, right click on the audio controller, and select Update driver.
Select install from a list or specific location Do not search. I will choose the driver to install.
Click on next, Have Disk, and browse.
Select the cpl3085a.inf file in the uncompressed folder sp30578, and then click Open.
Click on OK, next and finish.
Restart the computer.
