do i have to pay the 30 dollars for the quicktime update to be able to play my movies in itunes 7? so confused!

No
The 30 dollars is if you want to upgrade to QuickTime Pro which has additional feature, mostly on the editing side. You do not need it for playing things in iTunes.

Sound delay while playing video in iTunes.

Dear community,
When playing video in iTunes the sound is increasingly delaying and after approximately 10 seconds it becomes almost impossible to watch the video. When you move to the other part of the video, the sound is back to normal for a short time and then becomes delayed again.
When video is playing, it is possible to hear that sound is not smooth, but has very minor breaks. The video is downloaded to the computer. I opened this video with Windows Media Player and QuickTime and it works good, but, unfortunately, it does not work correctly while playing in iTunes player.
I experience this problem on Windows 7 32-bit.
Please, help with this problem.

Try to download the application VLC.
It is a media player that should be able to play any audio or video file you may have. If your videos play flawlessly using that application, then the issue is with iTunes and Quicktime, as they are both essentially similar software types when it comes to playing media.
In that case you may need to install a plug-in file called Perian, in order for the videos to play correctly within iTunes or at least Quicktime...

Yes! Immediately after upgrading our iPhones and iPads to iOS6, they lost the capability to play back CCTV camera streams both on network and 3/4G. Our customers are experiening this issue as well.
I held back from upgrading one of my iPads and all is normal with it.
I am a Savant AV dealer and this is quite troubling especially since the issue has very little buzz.
Has anyone heard from Apple regarding a fix?

Can I play videos from iTunes onto a TV from my iPad. All I seem to be able to get is the music when I connect via an HDMI cable or wirelessly to apple TV.

Black screen while playing video in itunes

I am currently running itunes 11.1.2.32 on a windows 8.1 (64 bit) pc. I had to reinstall itunes when switching from 8.1 preview to 8.1 due to download issues. I now have a black screen when playing videos in itunes. Audio still works. Suggestions?

I've had the same problem. Tried switching from the built in Intel video to an nVidia graphics card, reinstalled cursed a lot.
Finally got it working the hard ware. Built a virtual XP machine (like the SP support system in Windows 7). Installed itunes in the virtual machine and can now watch my movies and tv shows. Both itunes and Windows 8.1 seem to be "not ready for prime time". I wish MS wouldn't have tried to make a computer look like a cell phone/pad.

Green Screen when trying to play videos in iTunes.

Not sure how do describe my issue. But lately when playing videos though iTunes, they play fine for about 30 seconds and then the screen goes solid green ( http://tinyurl.com/loa5a ), but the sound continues. I've tried multiple videos from episodes of Lost that I've downloaded from the iTunes store to music videos, to video podcasts. None of them are immune to the dreaded green screen. Is this a known issue or something maybe unique to my system?

Anyone have any ideas or need more info, if so please let me know. This is very frustrating.

Quicktime 7 not playing videos from Itunes...

So recently I noticed my Quicktime 7 has been acting strange. It used to play all my videos flawlessly... it still does, although i've noticed movies bought from the itunes store wont play anymore. When I try to open the file on QT 7 I get the black screen but then It exits out and I get the "Quicktime 7 Has Quit Unexpectedly" and I get the Kern_Protection_Failure log ( whatever that is) It's weird, before every file i tried worked perfectly, but now I cant get them to play.... Is There any fix to this or has Quicktime 7 completely stopped supporting movies/videos from Itunes? ******Oh, by the way They DO however play in Quicktime X****** I''m running 2009 macbook pro 13-inch OSX 10.6.8 and All software is up to date. It's getting frustrating. I've looked all over but no luck. Any Help Would be appreciated. Thanks

IPad & iPhone only play video from iTunes store after iOS7 upgrade

I just noticed that my iPad and iPhone can only play content from the iTunes store now that I have upgraded them to iOS7. They can not even play videos that my iPhone recorded before the upgraded. They are also not able to play videos that I RIPPED from DVD's using Handbrake. It had no problem playing any of this content before upgrading. I can still play the videos though iTunes just fine. And my old iPhone that is still on iOS6 plays the videos just fine. Does anyone know of a work around to get iOS seven devices to play video that is not from the iTunes store?

Thanks tried that as well as a full restore of the iPhone. This seems to be by design. ITunes will not even sync the files to the iOS7 devices now. Says the files will not be copied because they can not be played, but my iOS6 devices can sync them and play them.

I have a new 30GIG Ipod video player and have downloaded the latest version of iTunes. i have successfully downloaded a music video into iTunes and transferred the music video over to my iPod. i can play the music video on my iPod and it looks and sounds great. when i try to play the music video in iTunes i can see the Video but I have no Audio. Thanx for the link Mi mico Kid that has been helpful but I have not totally solved my problem if solvable. I upgraded may Quicktime Player to version 7 PRO which made somewhat of a difference. I can now here audio on Movie files downloaded from the iTunes store but it sounds as if it's been reverbiated.Quicktime Pro will not let me export any of the files. All the files are listed as having Mpeg4 Protected audio which I think why I may be getting choppy audio when these file are played in I tunes or a aquicktime player. Originally I thought with the older version of Quicktime version 6 my problem was the lack of the H.264 codec, but this Mpeg4 protected audio is more likley the rascal.All purchased Movies from iTunes play great on my Pod thank goodness,but my computer playback needs work if it can be done. Anymore insight anyone?

Play Video In iTunes Then It Won't Sync To iPod

I've just noticed that if I play a video in iTunes 6.0.2 it will then no longer sync with the iPod. iTunes says its not a compatible format.
I've just tested playing a video on the iPod (OK) then playing on Mac iTunes (OK) then resyncing. The video no longer syncs and removes itself from the iPod.
Looked in the threads but nothing there.
I have tried restoring my iPod to v1.0 firmware but this makes no difference. Videos that have previously been played inside iTunes will not sync.
Looks like iTunes 6.0.2 or Quicktime change the file format on play so it is then not accepted by the sync to the iPod.
Any clues ??

Video is a pretty complicated subject. I take it this video wasn't from your normal source so who knows what combination of audio and video codecs were made to produce the thing. I also don't know how iTunes processes video. Some converters can just pass through components and not really re-code them, and maybe iTunes did that to something that to something that really needed re-coding. Maybe you'll find tips at:
