Upgrading systems

If I am running v 10.6.8. on my MacBook Pro, can I upgrade to Mavericks for free?

Would help to post in Mavericks forum or in MacBook Pro after including the year and model you have.
You didn't upgrade to Lion in 2011-12 or 10.8.5 after that.
Mountain Lion Upgrade is here:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6377Z/A/os-x-mountain-lion
Check here:
http://www.apple.com/support/osx/mavericks/
Upgrade from OS X v10.9 Mavericks to OS X Yosemite
If your Mac can run OS X Mavericks, it can run OS X Yosemite.
Back up your Mac.
Get OS X Yosemite from the Mac App Store.
Double-click Install OS X Yosemite to begin installation.

Dear Apple...I know time marches on but unfortunately you have become useless to those of us who can't upgrade systems or afford Iphones. So my itunes is totally unavailalbe since ipods can't work w/Itunes 9, so all the $ I spent is out the window! I have been an apple mac user since the Blue Tower in early 2000. The fact that I recently replace a stolen Ipod Classic and it isn't compatible w/iTunes9 is really screwed up. You have failed many!

    What is your question?

  • How to upgrade system from serial communication to parallel communication

    Hi,
I am working on Lab VIEW 8.5.In my project I am using ADAM cards(7) for analog/digital inputs/outputs. Communication is done via RS 232 serial cable. Right now my system is working fine, but if i want to make it more fast i will need to use parallel communication right? Because Simultaneous inputs and outputs are processed. How much my communication file will change? Which card i should use?
How to upgrade system? On which factors it depends or it affects? I need guide lines.
    Thank you

Do not forget to Mark solution and to give Kudo if problem is solved.

    Hi
In your setup you have a ADAM 4250 RS232/485 repeater talking with 7 instruments in a network. Each instrument have a unique address, and you can only address 1 instrument at a time. If you need more speed you have to insert more ADAM 4250 units in your system and more RS232 ports on the PC. Identical ADAM instruments may receive commands over the same communication line, but transmit data on a unique communication line. You can not use the parallel port in your setup at all. This is not a Labview problem but a hardware problem. If speed is critical maybe the Ethernet I/O Modules: ADAM-6000 series are better for your setup
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

  • After OS Upgrade, System Preferences won't recognize audio input/output.

When I got an iPhone, I had to upgrade to OS 10.5.8, as well as upgrade Safari (to 4.0.3) and iTunes (to 9.0.1) for everything to run smoothly, and it does.
However, since I went though the motions last week with these upgrades, System Preferences or Utilities doesn't want to recognize my audio input/output jacks. It won't recognize when I plug in my stereo or my headphones. I hook up my computer to my stereo all the time to listen to music in the living areas of my apartment, and now I can't because it isn't reading the jack.
Any suggestions? How can I get the system to fix this problem?

Check your Audio MIDI Setup settings.
These are user-to-user forums where everyday folk post questions and offer answers to each other. Apple does not contribute to this message board. None of us has any idea what Apple is going to do until they do it.
If you feel it's a "problem" did you post in the Product Feedback area?

Obviously, I know it has to do with my computer.
The reason I posted in the iPhone forum is because I am sure there are many other people who have had to upgrade software on their iMac to support the iPhone, and have subsequently had the same audio loss I have.
Apparently, such relevance is lost on you, although I'm not sure how it could be;-)
Thanks for your concern, in any case.

want to upgrade system RAM of preserio V 6500 presently it is 1 GB only (512 x 2)

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook:
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01295079.pdf
Please see chapter 1, page 2 for how much, and what type of memory you can install.
I recommend you install PC2-6400 memory, since the processors can run it at 800 Mhz instead of 667 MHz, which is all that PC2-5300 can run at.

  • Upgrading system with abs

Is there some way to upgrade system with abs in the same manner as pacman -Su does?

Maybe "yaourt" is something you're searching for.
It's in AUR. With it you can search fo packages in repositories and AUR at same time, in colors
Well, to upgrade packages that have newer versions (so, ye just upgrad ) you can do the following then
    yaourt -Sybu --aur
This will upgrad your whole system to newest package versions including the AUR and with using PKGBUILDS for current, extra repositories.
    cheers,
    detto

  • AS 70SR2 (WP's) stops when connecting to upgraded system.

    Hi,
I have installed an application server (NW7.0SR2) for our new ECC60 sandbox, which is upgraded from 4.6C. The AS and the DB server are on 2 different hosts.
When I try to start the AS it seems to work but the processes dies. The AS server is 64bit W2K3 ENT SP2 R2 with 12GB RAM.
I would really appreciate some input:)

  • [SLOVED] All my USB not work after upgrade system.

    Hello all,
I'm new in Arch, and i install my system with your LiveCD (2005).
In the first boot, all work good. But after upgrade (pacman -Syu), all my USB device (Keyboard, Mouse) not work.
I'm not using (yet) with Xorg, just in command shell (tty1), But i can't press anything cuz my keyboard not work.
I try to do that (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 19#p906119), but no work to me too.
What i can to do to fix this?

FYI, the latest installation CD version is "2010.05". It's best to use the latest. Get it from http://www.archlinux.org/download/
I'm not sure but I believe all other LiveCDs are custom made outside of the official Archlinux development team.
I recommend downloading the CD I mentioned and follow this guide: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Beginners%27_Guide
I've installed arch many times on different hardware and the only time I lost mouse and keyboard was after I removed "10-evdev.conf" and "10-quirks.conf" from /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/. I copied both back from backups, rebooted and m&k were functional again. My guess is  "10-evdev.conf" was the file I needed. Check both these files exist.

  • Error when executing a query on upgraded system

    Hi All,
We are in the process of upgrading our BI system. Currently we are on Quality system and its a copy of existing production system. I have executed a query on the production system (3.5 system) successfully.
But the same query when I'm trying to execute on the upgraded quality system (BI 7.0), I get an error " warning info provider was changed or activated at runtime. The query cannot be opened". The same message doesn't pop up on the current 3.5 BI system.
Can anyone help me how I can correct this error?
    regards,
    Suman

    Hi All,
I activated the Infoset and I could eliminate the error. Now the issue is solved.
    Thanks

  • Backend error message when changing old PO's in upgraded system

    Hi,
We upgraded our SRM system from 5 to 7.1
The issue we are facing is that fir all OLD PO's in the system, which were created before the upgrade,if we change the price or delete service lines in PO,then an error message is displayed "Backend error:Purcahse ordre still contains faulty items".
Has anybody come across this issue?
NOTE: This happens only for old PO's in the system.

Did you click on the error message to see the error details?
    Thanks,
    Prashanth

  • Upgrade System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 CU6 -- 2012 RTM issues (Assembly related exception in log)

    Hi guys
I am currently performing a distributed, complex upgrade with a customer:
4 management servers (1 being RMS), both databases (OM & DW) on a single SQL Server (2008 R2 SP2)
We moved over the RMS role to another server and decomissioned the old one due to it being a 2003 server.
Then we upgraded all non-RMS management servers.
We had some issues with them as well (same error in the log), but when we reinstalled the 2007 R2 binaries & patches and redid the upgrade it came through fine.
The RMS however keeps throwing the same error. Things I tried:
    - Full clean of the server including momclean and msizap, then reinstall the RMS and retry the upgrade
    - Reregister of the msiexec server
I am suspecting some issues with assemblies and / or GAC, but no clear proof on that, only that it crashes after performing assembly operations.
Below an extract from the RemoveMOMServer.log (the error occurs when uninstalling SCOM 2007 R2)
Can anyone help out or give me some pointers on possible causes?
    Many thanks in advance!

  • After upgrade System fail to boot

    Hi,
few days ago I did the system upgrade and after reboot i get several errors and the system doesn't boot, the first one in the list is:
FATAL could not load "/lib/modules/3.0-ARCH/modules.dep" no such file or directory
I think the problem is that in my /lib/modules/ dir there is no /3.0-ARCH dir but there is the 3.1.4.1-ARCH and the 3.1 extramodules.
why that? Is this problem coming from the upgrade?
also the network is not recognized
and the RAID disks are not mounted
the only thing I found on internet is this article:
    https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=129970
but I cannot downgrade because the pkg dir is empty and I cannot connect to internet for get it
    can you please help me?
    thanks

    I found something maybe useful...
in the dmesg I found that the boot disk is loaded as sdc but, I'm sure it was sda before the upgrade.
    in the menu.lst there is
    - title Arch lunix [/boot/vmlinuz.linux]
    - root (hd0,0)
    - kernel /vmlinuz-linuz root=/dev/sda3 ro
    - initrd /initramfs-linux.img
do you think that changing something in this I can have back my boot partition?

  • Adobe Creative Suite 5 / Upgrade System Windows Vista to Windows 7

    Dear customer service,
I am a customer of Adobe as I bought two years ago the Adobe Creative Suite 5.
My system is still Windows Vista. Now I wanna buy the Microsoft Home Office 2013 and now I have to upgrade from
    Windows Vista to Windows 7.
My question is if there will be any problem with the Adobe Creative Suite 5? Or can I only put in the upgrade CD,
leave the Creative Suite on my pc and have nothing else to do than just installing?
    Thank you for your reply.
    With best regards,
    Nicole

Correct. You only need to run the CS5 installer and have to provide the pertinent serial numbers in the process. Just make sure you run Help --> Deactivate bevor nuking your Vista install and reformatting your drive. If there are issues during the install, ask in the Download, Install & Setup forum.

  • How to Upgrade System HDD on a T43?

Hi everybody.  I'm new here, so forgive me if this has been asked and answered already.  I've searched the forums and the KB, and haven't found quite the answer I'm looking for.
Is there a good, step-by-step guide for upgrading the system hard drive on a T43?  I've seen a lot of valuable discussion about avoiding the dreaded 2010 error, which I'll take to heart in selecting a new drive; but I haven't seen a guide that tells me, for instance, how to clone an image of my old C: drive onto the new one, so that my OS and applications will work.  I understand how to do that on a desktop machine (i.e., I don't know how, but the instructions I've found on the web make sense to me); only I don't know to what extent I can use those instructions on the T43.  I don't have the system installation disk (bought the computer used), so I'd like to avoid having to reinstall the system.  I also don't have an Ultra Bay HDD, but I do have a CD burner.
Getting back to choice of new drives, and that pesky 2010 error, most of the discussion of those topics on these boards seems to be a few years old.  Has anything changed since 2008?  Is there a current list of replacement drives that will run (with or without monkeying with the BIOS) in a T43? (The list I found here seems to date back to 2009 at the latest.)
I realize I'm dealing with an outdated computer to begin with, and I have a more modern one.  I just want this one for basic word-processing, email, and web-surfing when I'm on the road; but the slow speed and limited storage of the 40GB HDD are inconvenient, and I'd like to do what I can to supe it up a little.
    Thanks for any advice!

Any drive that you buy new today will throw the "2010 error".
Samsung HM160HC would be my preferred choice.

That being said, I've been running non-approved drives in T43/p units for years with no ill effects. YMMV.
    Cheers,
    George
