Upgrading the 10.2.0.4 agent to 10.2.0.5 64-bit on windows platform

Hi,
I am unable to find the software with which I can upgrade the existing agent (10.2.0.4) to 10.2.0.5 on windows 64-bit platform. I could only find the software on OTN with which only fresh instllation is possible on 64-bit windows.
Is there a ways to find the sfotware and download.

When you run the installer, you can point to 10.2.0.4 oracle management home and it will upgrade it to 10.2.0.5. If you have downloaded the full package for 10.2.0.5 GC, you can just run the installer and point to management agent home as well.

Good morning all,
Awhile ago, we started using ACS with an LDAP external database thus elimating the need for an ACS agent. However, we have created some custom scripts that incorporate some logging from the ACS agent. So although we started sendign log files to a Advent Syslog server, we need to send them to a windows file that will put them in the old .csv format.
Here is my questions:
Can I upgrade the OS on Cisco Remote Agent from a Windows 2000 to Windows XP or Windows 2003 server? And how do I configure it to strictly dump log files to it?

We cannot install Remote agent on XP so we need to use win2003 OS. Here is the link that explains about setting up remote logging.

Upgrading Management Agents after upgrading the Grid Control to 10.2..0.5

Hello:
I am pretty new to implementing Grid control. I have been assigned the task of upgrading the Grid control to 10.2.0.5. I successfully upgraded the GC to 10.2.0.5. Now the next task is to upgrade the Agents running on other Database nodes. I have 6 databases running on Solaris 9.0 , few of them running on RHEL 5.0 x86, a few of them on RHEL 5.0 86*64. I am looking to upgrade these agents in one shot. Is there any way I can accomplish this from Grid control. If it is the case, then do I have to download and upload the patchsets for 10.2.0.5 for various platforms into the Grid Control.
I would be very happy if you could give me valid pointers which would help me to understand and move further.

Upgrading the zenworks management agent

Hi,
We want to upgrade the zenworks management agent to version 4 ir6. What
is the best way to do this?
Is it possible to upgrade or do we have to uninstall and then reinstall
the newer version?
We have around 2500 and some users have restricted permissions.

Normally you can just upgrade on top and it doesn't cause problems.
Since the install is a MSI, the rights will be elevated automatically.
The only time I wouldn't upgrade over-top is if you are running the
original setup.exe agent. If you are running 4.0.1.4 then you are fine.

As I said earlier, Please use "Agent Upgrade Console" inorder to upgrade.
Setup --> Manager Cloud Control --> Upgrade Agents
Upgrade your 12c Management Agents, you can either use the Upgrade Agents page of Agent Upgrade Console (which is part of the Enterprise Manager Cloud Control console), or use EM CLI. The Upgrade Agents page acts as a single-window solution to mass-upgrade your existing Management Agents to the latest version for which the software is available in Oracle Software Library (Software Library.

Upgrading 9.2.0.6 intelligent agent

On my database of version 9.2.0.6, I believe the oracle intelligent agent there is same version -- 9.2.0.6.
What latest version can I upgrade the agent to? Or the only thing I can do next is to upgrade it to use of 10g Grid control?

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to gather information about the state of your computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it on this page. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the request of a stranger on a public message board. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed: Copy a line of text from this web page into the window of another application. Wait for the script to run. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
When you launch Terminal, a text window will open with a line already in it, ending either in a dollar sign ($) or a percent sign (%). If you get the percent sign, enter
exec bash
in the window and press return. You should then get a new line ending in a dollar sign.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste (command-V). The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know your password, or if you prefer not to enter it, just press return three times at the password prompt.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line "[Process completed]" to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report your results. No harm will be done.
8. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If it happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

How to delete 12.1.0.1 OMS Home when it contains the 12.1.0.2 agent s/w?

I successfully upgrade our OEM 12.1.0.1 to OEM 12.1.0.2. I would like to delete the 12.1.0.1 OMS Home (/app/oem/Middleware). However the OEM 12.1.0.2 agent still exists under /app/oem/Middleare. Is there any well document procedure which can be used to re-install the 12.1.0.2 agent to another location?

Be careful in selecting the components while doing this. Its little complicate process because agent home is in-place upgrade in the same middleware home and OMS home is out place upgrade in new middleware home.
Update: script to move the agent home from old middleware home to new one. This script is ready we just provided this script to one of our reference customer to try it out and approve it. If things go well, we will publish it and document it. Till then stay tuned..

After installation of Mavericks, I get the warning : Apple Qmaster File Agent not found. Any solutions?

Everything was great running Mavericks in FCPX and seemingly Compressor... up until I hit the 'submit' button on a project. I found the following thread, which is related, but it doesn't mention Mavericks so I started a new one here. I'm guessing my problem has to do with Mavericks because I was able to export videos fine yesterday before the upgrade. I followed Russ' potential solution in that thread to no avail. The same problem happens whether I try to use the systems cluster or not. Here's the thread:

After trying all of that, I decided to use FCS Remover to remove FCPX, Compressor and QMaster (like I've had to do in the past when something would stop working after an update). I then re-installed everything and opened my Compressor project back up for export. I was expecting it to go through at that point, but alas, the same dreaded warning message appears: "An internal error occurred: Apple Qmaster File Agent not found."
I'm stumped. Don't know what to do besides uninstalling all my pro apps, including QMaster, and reinstalling.
Any ideas?

I set QMaster Preferences for Compressor Services to "Share" = checked and "Managed" = Checked, then I set Instances to 4, it did not work, back to the original error "Qmaster file Agent not found".
Look at some of your information I noticed that in Qmaster Preference the "Advanced" - Network - Use Network Interface: "All Interfaces". So I changed that to "Built-in Ethernet 2" (NIC my cable is plugged into) and set "Enable Port Range: From 50,000 with number of ports 1000".
So, for the heck of it I tried setting Instances to 2 -- and it worked, look in Batch Monitor I see 5 segments, 1 audio and 4 video with 2 out of 4 video transcoding (each was assigned about a 2 min chunk of video). Progress -- ok, so now I set Instances to 3 and submit batch -- it's still working, I get 7 segments 6 video and 1 audio. Ok the big test, setting Instances to 4 and it still works!! 9 segments, 8 video and 1 audio, WoooHoo, its working!
Just to be sure I open up Activity monitor and all 4 of my CPUs were cranking at 95% utilization.
Also checked OS X firewall setting, they are set to most minimal. Checked my router also, 192.168.1.2 is the IP assigned to my MacPro and the router is set to DMZ that specific IP (meaning is basically open to any port).
But I think the KEY in my case was to change the "Use Network Interface" from "All Interfaces" to "Built-in Ethernet 2" and then Enable Port Range from 50,000.
On a side note, the progress bars in Batch Monitor and in Compressor are way off with the "Remaining" time estimates -- overall progress will suddenly jump -- it looks as if the remaining time isn't being divided by the number segments currently running or something?

Upgrading the CSA on hosts

IS there a clean upgrade of the client from 4.0.3 to 4.5? Does the v 4.0.3 client need to be uninstalled before 4.5 is installed?
Same question for 4.5 to 5.0? How evasive are these client upgrades?

??If you're installing CSA MC V5.0 on the same machine running V4.5 or V4.0.x, an xml file containing V4.5 or V4.0.x configuration items and several .dat files containing host information are automatically generated by the installation and ready for importing once the install is complete.
?If you're installing CSA MC V5.0 on a different machine from the system running MC V4.5 or V4.0.x, after installing V5.0, you must copy and manually run an executable file on the V4.5 or V4.0.x machine to create the xml and dat files needed for importing V4.5 or V4.0.x configuration and host information to V5.0. ?
As far as upgrading the CSA agents on the systems, uninstallation is NOT necessary. Installing V5.0 on top of V4.X should be smooth as Tom said.
You can either download and run the agent kit on the target system, Schedule a Software update from the V4.0.x or V4.5 MC server (after running prepare_40_migration.exe on that server), or use SMS or other technologies to install the new V5.0 agent package.

Should I upgrade the internal hdd on my 2008 8.1 iMac or use an external drive?

I have an external hdd right now it is a 500gb go seagate goflex with a number of iTunes folders that I put on from my windows pc. I just received this 2008 2.4ghz core 2 duo 8.1 iMac and tried to import the files. The internal hdd is only 250gb so they would not fit, when I tried to get iTunes to run from the external drive it would but I would have to manually open each artist then album then song I wanted in the Finder for it to play. The songs do not show up automatically in iTunes, even though I think I followed all of the instructions for external hdd support. I was going to buy a new iMac and have the genius set it up, but now I think I am going to upgrade the RAM myself and am deciding wether or not I should also replace the internal hdd to 2TB or just get an external hdd so when I get a new iMac, maybe next year, I could still use it. However, I don't want to get another, larger external hdd if I'm going to have a hard time transferring all of my media to iTunes. Can I pay to have an apple genius do this at the store? I just upgraded the operating system to Snow Leopard and am waiting to upgrade RAM before moving to Mountain Lion. I just want my iTunes to sync up, at this point I will do just about anything, short of buying a new Mac. Thanks for any help.

You can keep your iTunes collection on an external drive. You can also keep just bulky items that you may not want to see often such as movies and just keep smaller items on the internal drive. This split option is more tricky but there are several ways to do it.
If all you have is a modest music collection, you can manage with an internal drive. Most modern media collections with huge movies files fast outpace even larger internal hard drives and you will have to resort to an external drive. Your computer dating from 2008 is (according to Apple's coproration standards) on its way to becoming a museum piece (hey, I still use a 10 year old computer, but Apple gave up hope for me years ago). I would not upgrade the internal drive. That will cost you a lot and be tricky to take with you to your next computer. An external drive you can just plug into a new computer.
Some of the issues you are encountering are because you do not yet know how to properly manage and transfer iTunes files. We can help you, or you can pay somebody a lot of money to do this for you on a regular basis.
Your GoFlex drive was used with Windows. Macs and Windows use different drive formats. If you are now using Mac-only then you will need to reformat the drive (you will need to store all those files elsewhere while you are doing this).
Do not buy just one external drive. When that drive fails (oh, and believe me, it will) your whole collection will be lost. Some of it you may be able to download again from Apple, but Apple does not "store" your iTunes collection, it is up to you to ensure its safety.

You could upgrade but since your in the same family processor your not gong to get any gains with the upgrade. Stick with your current processor.

Issue with upgrade the Default GAL

We have migrating from 2003 to 2010. i need to upgrade the global
address list of 2003 so that it can be managed under 2010. i have tried sSet-GlobalAddressList "Default Global

In General, the recipient filter of the default Global Address
List can be modified once during conversion from Exchange 2003 but not after that. If you want to change the default Global
Address List recipient filter after that you can temporarily modify the Global
Address List so that it isn’t the default.
Please follow:
1. Open the ADSI Edit. Expand each of the following items: Configuration Partition | CN=Configuration | CN=Services | CN=Microsoft Exchange | CN=<Organization Name> | CN=All Global
Address List | CN= Default Global
Address List
2. Right click “Default Global Address
List” and set the “msExchRecipientFilterFlags” value to 0.
3. Run the command: Set-GlobalAddressList "Default Global Address
List" -RecipientFilter {(Alias -ne $null -and (ObjectClass -eq 'user' -or ObjectClass -eq 'contact' -or ObjectClass -eq 'msExchSystemMailbox' -or ObjectClass -eq 'msExchDynamicDistributionList' -or ObjectClass -eq 'group' -or ObjectClass
