Upgrading to 10.6 from 10.4. Have to maintain a windows partition. Any special install actions??
Are there any special actions or gotchas when upgrading from 10.4 to 10.6 when a Windows partition has been installed and must be maintained?

My post in there still stands: I didn't had any problems doing the upgrade but nonetheless recommend to have/make a backup of your WIndows partition or at least of your valuable files and data prior to upgrade to Snow Leopard.

Hello mooseinutah, getting a new phone is always exciting! You will want to make sure to setup 2 separate Apple Id & passwords for each phone so that contacts & stored information are not merged between both devices.

A number of people have received similar messages in error. However their email doesn't usually get blocked. If you have confirmed that it is indeed blocked by sending yourself a test message, you will need to contact Support.
If you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:

You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee. You should insist that this is a problem they have caused and you shouldn't be charged. -
my computer has become much slower and may have been infected. Is there any course of action I can take in solving this problem?
If this started happening without your having made any changes and without a warning of low disk space, then it's likely that the startup drive, or some other hardware component, is failing. Back up all data immediately, then run Apple Diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test.
Even if the test is negative, you should make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested more thoroughly. -
Has anyone downloaded Yosemite and found that there are no ore scroll bars? I have to move the window (of any window, Skype window, browser window etc.) in order to find the scroll bar and then it disappears so fast I can't even use it.

Apple's new default (since at least a couple of OS releases back) is to have it off so OS X matches the behavior of an iPhone or iPad.
I almost never need a scroll bar, and when I do, I just move over to the edge of the window when scrolling and a larger scroll bar appears.
Yes, for the most part, users don't really need the scroll bar. That's what the scroll wheel on almost all mice is for. Saves the trip over to bar to physically grab and move it. But, I do like it on all the time regardless. That way (especially with a long article) I can just take a quick glance over to the bar to see about where I am on the page (a third of the way down? halfway?). Otherwise, I have to move the page just to make it appear to give me the same information. -
I have an iPhone4s. When I install apps, I have to give my Apple password first. That’s okay. The last few apps I tried to download have opened another security window before they will install. The window says, “Security info Required. To help insure the security of your Apple ID we require additional information” When I select okay, the Apple ID Password window opens and asks for my Apple password a second time.
It doesn't happen with every app and I’m concerned that these apps may be trying to collent my password. Will upgrading from Lion to Mountain Lion delete my Windows partition (bootcamp)?
On my other computer I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion, and the windows vista partition was completely deleted. I was wondering if I upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion on my other mac with Windows 7 will it be affected, or in other words, is Mountain Lion Bootcamp compatable with WIndows 7. Should I save it to an external hard drive?
Thanks!No OS X installer deletes a Windows partition automatically. There is no reason for a Mountain Lion installer to do so when upgrading from Lion.
Nevertheless, having backups is always a good idea no matter what. If you don't have them, then this is a good time for them. -

You need MS Office 2011 if you've installed Lion. Previous versions of Office don't work with Lion.

Firefox won't open new tab, have to open new window for any link.

i m using windows server 2008 enterprise(64bit) at both end, i successfully installed DB in 1st node i.e. DB Server, also copy the conf_SID.txt file to 2nd node i.e. Application server, i browse the config file that i hav copied from DB Node but it gives this error "RW-20019 No install actions have been found for this machine. Continue on other

also host files on both Node configured correctly and both machines are connected to same domain, can ping each other with complete hostname and IP address
Note: both machines are on Virtual Environment.

Note: both machines are on Virtual Environment.You cannot install EBS R12 in Windows 64-bit directly and you will need to install it on 32-bit then migrate to 64-bit.

How can I remove a non=working windows partition from my mac?
Alright so when I got my computer around 3 years ago my mom installed Windows on it. Sadly it didn't work and there was an uninstall so it uninstalled it, but now I have this 10 GB windows partition that's still there but I can't boot up on it and it's wasting 10 GB of my space. HOw can I get rid of it without risking of personal data (on my mac partition)

Seeing as how I don't allow anything from Microsloth into my house I am not able to answer your question from personal experience but I believe that Boot Camp can in addition to creating a partition for Winders also delete said partition. If you need more details you might try reposting in the Boot Camp forum instead of the Snow Leopard forum.

I am going to buy either a Mac Air or Mac Pro Retina 8GB RAM and 256GB. And as I have to still run Windows programs I will install Parallels 9. As the Mac are both 64bit machines does that mean I need to install Windows 7 64bit or just install 32 bit? (Going with Win7 as I hate Win8). And I will install Office Pro 2013 64 bit too or 32 bit or is that automatically selected by the underlying OS (I use Word, Excel and Access mainly for a membership database of a local club) ? I am not a power user so would appreciate advice on way to go

Ie my connection to the world is mac only and I use office pro only to ruin the club, newsletters, membership database etc. and of course anything I do there can drag/drop to the mac environ to email. Next will my existing .pst file copy directly into mac mail or do I have to runs translator as I recall reading something about that ages ago when I started thinking Mac

If I go tot this window on finder and enter Time Machine I can go back and find old notes...
If so, am I doing this on my new hard drive on on the time machine? When I do this on the time machine, what is "my home"? Also, I am unable to find "containers".
If I go to users/jeff/library, then I see components, compositions, contextual, etc, but not containers.

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 5 and I have this synced with my previous iCloud account. My problem is my old iPhone 4 is taking up 2.5 GB of space in the cloud. Is there a way to delete this iphone from the icloud so I can free up space as it is not needed anymore?

Assuming you have finished with your old backup.....
You can see what your iCloud storage is used for and delete any unwanted content at settings > iCloud > backup & storage > manage......
