Upgrading to 3.6 resulted in loosing everything! Bookmarkes, extensions, etc... over a year of hard work all lost. And this is on my computer at work, which is even worse.

Everything is gone. And I am in the middle of some serious work which needs to get done. How can I recover all my passwords, logins, bookmarks, and extensions easily? 2 hrs trying to find fixes but nothing seems to work. I cannot believe this is happening. Why would 3.6 do this in the first place?

Did you try a reset, hold the power button and home button until you see the apple then let go? Did you try to restore as new in iTunes on your computer?

Upgrading the OS does not remove your apps and purchases.

My laptop keyboard is having problems. I took it if to change my bottom case it worked fine prior and then after just the power key worked. I cleaned everything nothing is bent in the cable. now my power key is not working

ICal won't sync to mobile me, iPhone, or iPad. On my iMac I went to preferences, mobile me, set it to sync, and even did a sync-now. It syncd everything else, contacts etc, but not iCal. Went to calendar preferences and it won't let me sync at the bott

Went to calendar preferences and it won't let me sync cuz it says: Your mobileme suscr info is not correct or you did not turn on sync in mobile me prefs - well, my mobile me subscription must be ok, I'm in and out of it easily enough, checked the acct fields, and my other stuff is working fine. I did go to mobile me prefs and it is all set to sync, calendar is checked, it says the last sync was 15 min ago. Ak! What is up? I did just upgrade the mobile me calendar. Is that my problem?

In order for it to work, your calendars should show on the MobileMe site, they should be listed under your MobileMe login name in the calendar list in iCal (calendars listed under 'On My Mac' will not sync) and your MM account details have to be entered in iCal Preferences>Accounts (this should have happened by itself).

Having problems launching iTunes on my pc. Had iTunes on this particular pc for over a year. Have downloaded all of the new updated versions. Now I get an error message saying "This copy of iTunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please reinstall." I have backed up the pc to an earlier date when when the program was working, and also performed serveral system diagnosis all saying the program is incompatible. Searched for several compatible programs, none worked. All this happened several days after visiting iTunes. I'm afraid that if I reinstall iTunes that I will loose everything and have to start all over. Eventhough everything is saved in an iCloud account and this particular pc. Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".

Movie streaming from computer not working after 6.0 upgrade

After the ATV 6.0 upgrade, video streaming from computer stopped working.
I'm trying to watch a movie from my computer and ATV is just sitting and buffering.
If I try and watch a preview from the video rental, it is just buffering as well.
iTunes radio is not loading.
I have the latest update of iTunes.
Regular mirroring works fine and music from the MacBook computer is working fine.
Everything worked fine before the 6.0 upgrade.

I have an RM-507 N97 as well, upgraded to v20 firmware and with the GPS antenna factory fix.
It appears that the firmware upgrade changes something between the MAPS app, the MAP data and the GPS drivers which causes this issue.
Recommended course of action is to delete and reinstall map data using PC Suite or Ovi Suite.
ps. There is another apparent problem that can cause lack of GPS fix which is currently under investigation. If your N97 is "hot" (i.e. just after charging or long periods of continuous display activity), you may have problems getting a GPS fix. Also, if you run the MAPS app for a long period of time with display active, you may see loss of fix problems.

Why is my trackpad clicking on everything that I pass over?

I've been having some difficulty using my MacBook Pro lately. The trackpad is acting up. It's being extremely sensitive. When I am trying to navigate on my computer, it is very difficult for me to click on things, let a alone get to the thing I want to click on because as I move my mouse across the screen, it clicks on everything that it passes over. I have shut down my Pro, and nothing seemed fishy in system preferences!
I must report that the trackpad's clicks aren't as audible, maybe it's sunk lower?
Is this a physical problem or...software?

Server 10.5.7 upgrade deleted all user and group Info -- Receiving error -1

After upgrading our Dual 2.0 G5 server that was running 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 all groups and user information lost access. In addition when starting the workgroup manager error -14008 appears. Also when we look into the console log the following shows up

I looked into A&I more, maybe it's not as nuclear as I thought. I presumed it meant I needed to reinstall all non-apple Apps, which means digging up disks and codes, none of which I have here. I'm away from home for another 4 weeks, which means doing that is difficult.
Being away is also why my back-up is a little out of date, I didn't bring the time machine drive for that MBP with me. I had it shipped to me as soon as I had problems, but the back-up I'd have to roll back to is now 1-2 weeks old and might still have the funky user:group problems since my timezone problems began before the 10.5.7 update.
I think DiskWarrior may of finally repaired the user:group issues. Not 100% sure but it's looking better. I just noticed that the primary user is admin but User is 502 and Group is 502. Whereas my secondary user account (also Admin) on that MBP User is 501 and Group is 20. My recollection is 20 is staff and both users groups should be 20.
I'll look into A&I more, probably do it when I get home.

My PC broke down. So my old Itunes (mp3s) and what not are now only on my phone and not my pc. Im affraid that if i try to upgrade my phone i will losse everything on the phone, music,photos and all that.
Is there some way to "restore" itunes from the phone?
I really want to upgrade my ios but im affraid to loose everything (loosing the music is not the end of the world, but everything else like contacts, photos and that stuff i really dont want to loose.)
Any help or tricks to avoid this would be really great.

What you need to do is access your backup of your computer and restore it on a new computer.
Other than that you can buy a program for the computer that copies files from the iPhone to your computer. Use google to search.

Yes it would, possibly even brick it.
Have successfully connected my ipod nano with iTunes so looks like the device driver is working.
Can I use my ipod nano USB connector to check?
It is not much help to you, since the device that you need still not recognized.
Anyway looks like I may have to swallow the loss of data. Have set-up a call for tomorrow with Apple support so will wait until after this before doing the factory restore!

No.
However, you do maintain complete and regular backups of your computer, correct?
For iTunes, the iTunes library is the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder.

If you have done the smart thing and backed up before your software upgrade then you have nothing to worry about.
If you didn't, well, that's a mistake you will hopefully learn from.
