Upgrading to Adobe Pro DC

I upgraded my Mac to Yosemite last week.  Now I can't open Adobe Pro.  I pay 19.95/month for a subscription service for the Creative Cloud.  Can't figure out how to download Adobe Pro DC without additional expense; however, it says it's a free download.

Moving this discussion to the Acrobat Installation & Update Issues forum.

  • Upgrade to adobe pro DC, Adobe ID used, gets responce that its been used before

we are upgrading to adobe pro DC, from version 9 pro, and when trying to use the same adobe ID it says the ID was used to activate two other, and is blocking me from using it. is there a limit to how many and ID can be used on. I’m trying to avoid everyone having their own ID's .
I would like to get to the point of creating a package but first need to get the ID issue straightened out.
    thanks

I was doing some research on this. Only Acrobat X and XI qualify for an upgrade. Not Acrobat 9 Pro.
If you own Acrobat Pro X or XI – or Acrobat Standard X or XI – you also qualify for a reduced price when purchasing a perpetual (one-time) license.

I was online earlier this week and liked the forms with submit buttons and the Adobe site directed me to upgrade to Adobe PRO XI in order to use forms so I bought five licenses. Just had it installed today and it is now asking me to sign up for forms Central in order to use this feature. What gives? The Adobe site gave me the impression that I would have this feature after purchasing the new upgrade. I would not have purchased the upgrade, let alone five of them had I know this. Am I missing something?

Acrobat XI comes with the Fromscentral AIR application and the ability to create PDF forms authored in Formscentral. To have more than the free (1 form with 50 responses) level account you need to sign up for a Formscentral subscription.

  • Upgrading from Adobe Pro 8 to XI

While upgrading from Adobe Pro 8 to XI it asks if I want to "Deactivate EPIC_APP_118".  What is it and should I?

Looking through the forums, it appears that error message is related to a Zenworks Licensing Manager System. If you are installing in a enterprise environment, you might want to check with your IT people before you mess with uninstalling and installing new software.

  • Adobe Standard upgrade to Adobe Pro

Currently I have Adobe Standard on my computer and have purchased an upgrade to Adobe Pro - do I need to uninstall Adobe Standard before installing Adobe Pro or do I just install it over the current version?
    Thank you for your help,
    Mlux

This forum is about Reader, not Acrobat...
But to answer your question, just install it. It will remove the previous version by itself.

I have changed settings in Adobe Pro X to the above but still get the same message.
Do anyone know how to fix this?

  • Adobe PDF Preview Handler Issue in WIndows 8 64 Bit Machine - After installing Adobe Pro 11.0.10

    Hi Guys ,
We are facing a serious issue with Windows 8 and Adobe PDF Preview Handler . We are using the PDFPrevHndlr.dll from Adobe to show PDF Previews in our application. It is working fine in Windows 7 and Vista and for some reason it is not working in Windows 8.1 64 bit machines after upgrading to Adobe Pro 10.0.10 .  Please help us figure out what is the root cause of this issue .
During a close analysis we have found that the PrevHost.exe( Windows component ) is failing soon after it is being invoked . Any help in this is much appreciated.
    Regards
    Sree

    Hi Sree,
According to your description, your case related to Adobe PDF Preview Handler. This is third-party product. I am afraid this is out of our support. Please ask in their special forum

By the way, after do some search, it seems not working for 64bit machine,
    >> It is working fine in Windows 7 and Vista
Also work fine in win7/vista 64bit????
If your scenario is not working in 64bit machine, try to put "adobe pdf preview handler 64-bit fix" in search engine. Good luck.

  • Is it possible to automatically open a form in Adobe Pro v. Reader?

    Hi,
I, also, am wondering if there is a way to avoid having to close all of my open pdfs every time I want to open Adobe Pro?
    Thanks,
    Joan

This issue has been resolved since upgrading from Adobe Pro 8 to Adobe Acrobat X Pro (v 10.1.6)

  • How can I make by portfolios in Adobe Pro xi able to opened by previous versions?

I recently upgraded to Adobe Pro XI.  I use this program to make portfolios for municipal meetings and post to our website.
I need to make the portfolio able to be read by various version.  I have tried the "save as other" but it still will not open and says I need to download Adobe Reader DC.... I did that and it still says I need to download it.
    HELP!!!!!

Thanks for your reply.  I have been using Adobe Pro 8 for years and have been able to post the portfolios and have not had any problem opening them in Google Chrome.  There would be a little Adobe icon that would show up and you had to click on it to open it but now I get no icon.  I did not do anything to make the icon show up before it was just there.
My Trustees and residents like the option to choose what issue they want to view instead of having to scroll through page after page after page, trying to find the issue they are interested in.
Do you have any suggestions?  When I disable the Google .pdf reader the packet downloads to the computer.  I don't think they would like that.  Do I have any other options?  I have made the packets readable by Adobe 4.0 and up and it still acts the same.
Oh, and my Trustees were able to download the portfolio to their I-pad.  I sure hope I didn't spend $400+ on the latest and greatest only to have to go back to 8.0 to get it to do what I want.
    Thanks!

  • Printing problem Adobe Pro X from Excel 2003

I produce a number of reports each month using Excel 2003 and printing/converting them to PDF documents.  All were nicely formatted and printed perfectly and reliably using Adobe 5.0 (ancient I know).  I recently upgraded to Adobe Pro X.  Now what once printed nicley only prints part of a page - about the right 1/3 is not showing.  Even when selecting "fit to 1 page wide and 1 page tall" in excel page setup doesn't fix the problem.  Changing the BINDING setting in Adobe doesn't fix the problem either.  Previously I selected Adobe Writer from my printer listing which I understand has been discontinued.  Now my only option is Adobe PDF.  Any suggestions?

    Interesting. My approach would
    1. Try on a different system if available. If still bad...
    2. Try to create a simple test application with CreateDC and StartDoc, and really nothing else not absolutely needed.
Test that.  If it is good, look for other problems in your application (e.g. memory overwrite).
If your little example is still bad, post it here and other people can try and compare your results.

  • I originally purchased 8 pro then upgraded to 9 pro, so can i now upgrade to xi pro?

I purchased originally adobe 8 pro then upgrade to adobe pro 9 - can i therefore another upgrade to take me up to adobe XI pro or is one upgrade too many?

You can purchase an upgrade from AA9 to AAXI. Also note that AA8 does not qualify for an upgrade to AAXI. Bottom line, get out the checkbook.

  • Account Update - Adobe Pro - Form Central

Hi, I have a paid for Form Central Subscription but have recently had an upgrade to Adobe Pro XI via my company.  I was wondering if I can link the Form Central account with the corporate serial number for Adobe Pro XI to take over the cost of the subscription?  If not, what is the process for gaining access to Forms Central with a volume licence?
    Thanks,
    Misty

    Hi;
You can use your existing FormsCentral subscription with the FormsCentral desktop application that is included with Adobe Acrobat Pro XI, simply sign into the application with the AdobeID tied to your subscription for FormsCentral.
Acrobat Pro XI does not incude a subscription to the FormsCentral service, it incudes the Desktop application that can be used to create forms and save them to PDF using Acrobat, but does not include the subscription to the online services.
There is nothing to transfer or to take over the cost, if you want to continue to use the online features, simply sign into the Desktop application included with Adobe Acrobat as you would in a web browser.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Upgrading to Acrobat Pro XI / Adobe Reader XI and enabling user rights

My company is a little behind on software updates and I'm going to ask for Adobe Reader XI  to pushed out company wide since allows the user to save a filled-in PDF form.
Right now I'm using Acrobat Pro X, and suspect I will need to upgrade as well.
    My questions are:
With the new-found ability of Reader to finally be able to save a filled in form, how does this effect the "enabling user rights" scenario?
Is it needed if the entire company is using Adobe Reader XI?
I did a test in Adobe Reader XI, and sure enough, I was able to save a filled-in form...BUT, I could not digitally sign the form.
Is this where the enabling user rights is still mandatory?
Or is this because the form was designed in Acrobat Pro X?
Does Acrobat Pro XI work around this?
I know I don't need to upgrade to Acrobat Pro XI to continue making forms, but should I?
Thanks for your feed back, and I look forward to reading your replies

Thank you, George, for the prompt reply!
I suspected as much, but couldn't find a clear cut answer in my searches.
The tab order update alone has convinced me its worth pushing for the new Acrobat Pro XI.
The update to Adobe Reader XI will make many of our forms easier to get into the digital workflow, and I'm looking forward to getting use further away from a paper-based system
