Upgrading to Design Premium CS 5.5

To Adobe,
I purchased CS2 and I would like to upgrade to CS5.5 Design Premium.
May I submit a money order or is Credit card and Paypal the only way to purchase?
If so, where would I mail the money order to so I can get the activation serial number?
Thanks,
Hajman

Hi Jeff,
I am based out of Nathrop Colorado.
Thanks for getting back to me.

  • Unable to upgrade adobe design premium from cs5.5 to cs6. Problem with eligibility of cs5.5 serial number

I upgraded from design premium cs5.5 to design premium cs6 and am unable to install. I get all the way to where it asks for the serial number of my prior product. Then it complains that the serial number dosent represent an eligible product. The install is on a new machine that has never had the adobe product installed. I unregistered the cs5.5 product on my old machine before trying to install cs0.

Contact serial number support by web chat.

  • Upgrade cs3 design premium to cs 5.5 web premium

Can I upgrade cs3 design premium to cs 5.5 web premium and will I lose the functionality of the Indesign CS3 that I have now?

I believe it will but you must find the right upgrade and finding a CS5.5 upgrade is not going to be easy. Why not just get the CS6 Web and Design Premium package (that eligibility ends soon) or better yet, take advantage of the intro pricing for Creative Cloud. At $29.99/month it’s a bargain: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud.html

  • I cannot upgrade two Design Premium Suites from 5.5 to 6.0

I cannot upgrade two Design Premium Suites from 5.5 to 6.0!
I have a Volume Licensing for several Adobe Products and now I want to upgrade two of the Design Premiums to 6.0.  I have bought two Retail upgrades (with a little discount) but this not going to work.
The Support help Chat says that I cannot use a Retail Upgrade for a Volume Licensed Design premium.
Why? I haven't found any info about this. So after two hours a chatting with several persons at the Helpdesk I was provided with a phone number.
When I called this Phone Number they said my serial was not connected to my Account. Unbelievable because in my Account there are all the right Numbers.
This man said I had to call another number 08004438158 to solve my Problem. Connect to this Number is Impossible (not reachable)!
What to do? I cannot solve this problem with the Support Chatbox,
I cannot solve this with a support employee on the Phone and another Phone Number is not reachable.
I have paid a lot of Money throughout the years with Adobe Products. We are running 7 Design Premiums, Several Photoshops, several Adobe Servers Applications and two prescriptions of the CC.
And now nobody can help me with this problem????

Thanx Mylenium for your Suggestion .
Today I have done another attempt by Phone. From the Netherlands Customer Service I received a different telephone number for Support. It took a while this Morning and a little patience but at last I received two unlocking Codes. So I didn't need to start an Online Support Case.

  • Would you upgrade from Design Premium CS5 to CS5.5?

I am always weary of upgrading to mid-year releases like this because usually there are more headaches than benefits.  Would I be missing out on a lot of functionality by not upgrading from Design Premium CS5 to CS5.5?   I primarily use Indesign to lay-out interactive digital publications.  Any advice or words of wisdom would be appreciated!
    Cheers!

If you're working with epubs, definitely upgrade!  Here's an article that lists the new features.

  • Upgrade CS4 design premium to CS5.5 standard, what happens with my web apps?

    Hi,
I'm planning to upgrade my CS4 design premium to CS5.5 design standard, but I still like to use Dreamweaver from the CS4. Does anyone know if this is possible. I've chatted with an Adobe sales employe who said I can only upgrade to CS5.5 design premium in order to keep using dreamweaver but I read that other people are using different versions of CS simultanously on 1 computer. Any thoughts?
    Thanks alot!

I respectfully disagree. The license includes a stipulation that you can continue to use the earlier version during a transition period. There is no set time limit there. I have CS3, CS4, CS5 and CS5.5 installed.

  • Upgrading CS4 Design Premium to CS5.5 Design Standard

    Hi.
I'm currently running the CS4 Design Premium software on my mac, but I want to upgrade to the latest software while I can still get the education price.
This time, however, I think I will get CS5.5 Design Standard rather than Design Premium to save money as I don't use Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks as often as I do the other programs.
So, my question is: If I upgrade Bridge, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign to CS5.5, and Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks stay as CS4 versions, will this cause problems, or will they still be fine to use together?
    Thanks.

My understanding of educational pricing is that it works for the first purchase of a Creative Suite product. Adobe is very generous because it lets you keep the product after you leave school.
However, there is no such thing as an educational upgrade price. If you want to upgrade your software, you pay the same price as everyone else. Upgrade pricing show shown on the Adobe website. (It's much too complicated for me to remember pricing for all the various upgrades.)

  • Upgrade CS6 Design Premium to CS6 Master Collection?

Why can I upgrade CS5 or CS5.5 Design Premium to CS6 Master Collection, but not CS6 Design Premium? Is there really no upgrade path within the same version?
One of my new designers needs to do video production work. I'd rather pay $1,049 to upgrade his suite instead of $999 to buy the standalone After Effects application. Any chance there is actually an upgrade path, just not one that appears in the upgrade panel?

That's option #2 if nobody knows of Another Way.
Follow-up question: the new designer has a straight purchase of CS6 Design Premium but my existing designers have upgrades from CS5 or CS5.5. Is it possible to purchase a CS5.5 upgrade and have him 'swap' serial numbers with another designer on my team without creating all sorts of conflicts, re-installs, calls to Adobe support, etc.?

  • Upgrading CS4 Design Premium to CS5

    Hi All,
I recently purchased Adobe CS4 Design Premium with the free upgrade to CS5 Design Premium. I'm using a Mac Pro (2.66Ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon). CS4 is currently loaded, but I'm holding off loading my copy of the CS5 upgrade until I've read whether there are any known issues to consider (I also have some important work to finish before I start dabbling). Have any of you taken the plunge already?
Is there anything I should be aware of with this system set-up?
    Should I uninstall CS4 before loading CS5?
Should I first upgrade the Mac OS to 10.6.3?
Will upgrading the OS to 10.6.3 affect CS4 if I leave it on the computer?
Any suggestions from graphic design professionals would be most appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Tom,
We have exactly the same spec, 2.8 8 cores and 30" LCD's.
I also got the free upgrade. I've still got CS3 and CS4 loaded, so if you get a problem with something in CS5 you just open in CS4.
All that happens is that documents will open in the latest version when double clicked. You have to right click and open in a lower version if you choose.
Bear in mind though that things created in a later version cannot be opened in a higher version! esp Indesign, Illustrator, Flash etc.
I'm using CS5 everyday, the normal stuff we use every day works fine, no problems and nothing will hinder your work. Obviously there is loads of stuff in the apps which we haven't even looked at or used yet because of time.
    Few kinks are:
Indesign - by default it has all the new measurement and guide lines turned on, they annoyed me so I turned them all off. A bug is that you can't turn off the new frame highlighting but Adobe are aware of this and it's discussed on their forums. Everything else, including all menu items seem to be in the same place.
If you are exporting a big pdf, it seems very very quick but this is because it has background processing now. If you try to close the document straight after saving the pdf, it will come up with a note saying 'process in action' or something. Good feature if you want to carry on working.
Also, remember to change the preflight settings to include RGB images and colour as it's not on by default.
Indesign also forgets page window sizes so if you had two documents open side by side, next time you open them it's forgotten this whereas CS3 used to remember. THis is a bug.
Illustrator - Same as Indesign, you may want to turn off all the stuff you don't need in preferences, remember to turn on scale stroke widths etc because its off by default. In Illustrator you CAN turn off frame highlighting (shows a different team works on this!). And they STILL have not added a shortcut to place an item!
Photoshop - All more or less the sae for day to day use. It is faster when running on a 64 bit Mac. Loads of new features, but the ones we are used to are still there, and where you expect them to be.
Dreamweaver - This is the one with flaws. It forgets ftp login details and the new live site view has problems. If you open a file up it can hang for ages if you have used a direct link to the jquery site for the code, (you need to keep code locally, better practice anyway), and if you use live site, it has a big flaw with the related files. If you hover over them you'll see it thinks some are in the wrong folder. If you try to edit them it says it doesn't exist, but this is because its looking in the wrong ftp folder! You have to manually open it, which kind of makes related files redundant.
Away from the live site feature general web updates and static sites etc is the same, the UI is now consistant with the other apps, its just the ftp details being loss each time on relaunch that is annoying.
On all apps, by default they have a pointless application bar which uses space, I turned this off.
There may be others which I havn't come across yet, but I use it daily, there isn't anything which should stop you installing as far as I'm concerned.
    Hope this helps
    Cheers

  • Possible to upgrade to Design Premium from single Ps-, Ae-, Pr-licenses?

I have purchased CS5 Photoshop, CS5 After Effects and where just about to switch from Final Cut to Premiere to be able to use Abode Dynamic Link wich isn't possible if I do not have the whole Design Premium-suite. Is this possible to upgrade to without having to buy dual versions of all my available Adobe applications?

Found the upgrade. Was there all the time. Sorry for my blindness!

  • CS6 upgrade for Design Premium collection

What with the release of the Photoshop CS6 Beta I was wondering when, and if, Adobe plans to release a CS6 upgrade for their Design Premium collection?
I have been using CS5 since it came out.
    Thank you,
    Diane

Thank you Bob for answering so quickly.  With that knowledge I can best outline my course of action for upgrades to my system in preparation for CS6.  Like upgrading to Lion.  I'm on a Mac Pro Quad Core screamer.
I am excited about the upgrades and look forward to more information on them.
Having been in the graphic design and print production industry for 40 years (geeesh has it been 'that' long?) I am still totally amazed at the advances in the industry.  And still as excited about it as the first day I sat down to a keyboard punching TTST tape that was fed into a Photomix.
    Again, thank you.

  • Upgrade from Design Premium CS4 to Production Premium CS5

Will InDesign, Fireworks, and Dreamweaver still function from Design CS4 to Production CS5? I have heard conflicting advise that the upgrade will void those applications?? Thanks.

The upgrade will not touch the earlier version. Whoever told you otherwise was incorrect.

  • Quick question about upgrading CS4 Design Premium to CS5.

So I was lucky enough to get a free upgrade from Adobe, but I was just wondering, when I install the upgrade will anything happen to my saved documents?  Like if I wanted to could I go back to them on CS5 and still work with them; layers and all?
    Thanks for the help;
    -Peter

You don't have to but there's no good reason at all to uninstall it. InDesign especially is not very compatible with earlier versions. If you work with anyone on CS4 it would be very prudent to leave it installed.

  • Australia - Upgrading CS4 Design Premium (Student Edition) to a commercial version.

Hey guys I have been searching for an answer for this question for some time.
I am still a student but friends and family have asked me to do some work for them and I want to do it legally as I know I am not allowed to use my Student Edition for commercial purposes.
Basically I have come down to the conclusion that I am able to do so according to this page: http://www.adobe.com/ap/education/students/studentedition/faq.html
    It states:
"Can I upgrade from a Student Edition?
Yes, a Student Edition can be upgraded to a commercial version."
This forum has been really helpful so far just would like to clear this up.
Most importantly how would I go about upgrading to the commercial version and how much in $AU?
if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers
    Tally

yea I already know that In Australia your not allowed to use it for commercial work. It says on the box and in the documentation.
Have rang up two Adobe Gold partner software licensing companys, explained my situation and they seem to know what they are doing so just waiting for them to get back to me with the information and most importanly a quote on how much to upgrade.
Said it was just for personal use and only I will be using the programs so he said he will try find out the cheapest option.
    Looking good...

  • While upgrading Adobe Creative Suite CS4 ME into Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 Design Premium, I get an error saying This serial number is not of a qualifying product, please try another. I used to be able to get a code from customer service but I can't get

While upgrading Adobe Creative Suite CS4 ME into Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 Design Premium, I get an error saying This serial number is not of a qualifying product, please try another. I used to be able to get a code from customer service but I can't get to the chat. Please advise!!!!

MoeGhazal I reviewed your account and it looks like you have have upgraded from a CS4 volume license for Design Premium to a retail upgrade of Design Premium 5.5.
I also show that you made two purchases of CS5.5 Design Premium but the second purchase was canceled.  Please make sure you are utilizing the serial number which ends in 7886.
If you are using the correct serial number then it is likely the installer will not recognize your volume license CS4 serial number as being valid for an upgrade.  If you can contact our support team then you can be walked through an unlocking procedure to allow you to proceed with the installation.  You can contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care.  You may want to try installing a web browser you have not previously utilized.  It is likely a toolbar or some other software application is affecting your ability to access chat support successfully.
If you are still unable to reach our support team then please verify the information under your account is accurate.  If you can please then update this discussion after confirming this then I can request a member of our support team contact you directly.
Again I would recommend reaching out directly if possible as it will be the most efficient method of resolving your current error.
