Upgrading to Dreamweaver CC

I'm really confused by this new CC thing. Can I upgrade my Dreamweaver CS6 software to CC without signing up for all of that $49.99 month to month billing crap, cloud storage which I have absolutely NO need for, etc? And if I can just upgrade my software will it remain updated (to CC) without renewing this month to month billing crap?

http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/buying-guide.html
The Cloud comes in two options: Full or Single App.
1) Full cloud at $49.99/month (requires 12 month commitment)
1a) Full cloud at $74.99/month (month to month commitment)
2) Single App subscription at $19.99/month (requires 12 month commitment)
All are billed monthly. All Cloud offerings comes with storage and other extras. You don't have to use them.
Sounds like you only need the Single App subscription if all you want is DW CC.

  • Problems upgrading from Dreamweaver 4 to CS3

The website I manage is www.episcopal-dallas.org. Today, I
upgraded from Dreamweaver 4 to CS3. In Design view, I can edit
about half of the pages, but those of the other half (including the
index/home page) have gray backgrounds (with a few exceptions that
have white), and, although I can make changes in the code, I cannot
edit them in Design view. The cursor forms the universal "nicht"
sign — circle with a diagonal slash through it. I can't find
any commonality between the ones that I can edit and the ones I
    can't.
Also, on some of the pages, the navigation panel that is
supposed to be on the left side has ended up above the text of the
main body of the page. Manuals I have say nothing about upgrading
    existing websites.

    Of course it does.

You should never have to do this.
I hope your understanding of this doesn't cause further
    problems for you.

I upgraded from Dreamweaver CS4 to CS6. but now when I want to upload I get "an TFP error occured - cannot make connection to host". I spent hours with the host technician and we cant find the error. I reinstalled DW4 and it connects to host perfectly. Anyone else seen this problem?
    Mac OS 10.8.5
None of these issues are causing the error in DW CS6. We have double checked all of them and we have everything exactly right. Also I have exactly the same SiteSetup in DW CS4 and that works perfectly well. Could there must be factor in 6 that didn't exist in 4? Something that isnt in the SiteSetup but in some hidden dialog box ?
I can also upload to my host using Fetch, a third party FTP. And as I said DW CS4 works fine. So the problem is not with my host, its with DW CS6 in particular.

Thank you Jon, that fixed it perfectly. You have saved me from going crazy. The only difference I see now is in "Server Name" it changed what I had entered (my ftp address) to "Remote Server"; which seems odd -- but it works!   Although I know there maybe also some other dialog box I have never seen
Of course I saw that menu item "Import"  and but I thought thats obviously not for me: "Why would I want to import an entire website?". I did not however see "Export the selected site" for thats only a tiny icon in the footer. However I would have thought the same:  "Why would I want to export my entire website?".
An observation: I've seen this problem in a lot of Adobe software, the menu-names of items are  obscure, non descriptive. What would be better would be for the menu names or popups to say "Export Site Setup settings" and "Import Site Setup settings"

  • I have Dreamweaver CS6.  Is it possible to upgrade to Dreamweaver CC?  If so, are there any fees involved? And what is the process?

Unfortunately, CS6 is the last version Adobe made available for purchase on perpetual license.  So there are no upgrades available except to join the Creative Cloud and pay monthly.
As a Creative Suite user, you qualify for a substantial discount for the first year -- $29.95/month for Full Plan which affords access to all the software and other services.

  • Upgrade to Dreamweaver 8

    1. Does Dreamweaver Ultra Dev4 Upgrade to Dreamweaver 8
    2. Does Dreamweaver 8 Upgrade come with the Upgrade ID or you
    have to call Adobe

    > 1. Does Dreamweaver Ultra Dev4 Upgrade to Dreamweaver 8
Each installation is a separate program. There is only a
    virtual upgrade.
And yes, UD4 qualifies for an upgrade to DW8.
    > 2. Does Dreamweaver 8 Upgrade come with the Upgrade ID
    or you have to call
    > Adobe
Leave UD4 installed. Install DW8. It will pick up your UD4
    S/N.

  • Upgrading to DreamWeaver CS4

Dont think I need the other pieces and would like to save the
    $500.

    What are you upgrading from?
If you own a suite, you cannot upgrade just Dreamweaver. You
    have to upgrade
    the entire suite.
If it's just DWMX 2004, 8 or CS3 that you own and you want to
    upgrade to DW
CS4 then the upgrade options are shown on the Adobe website.

  • Formatting lost following upgrade from Dreamweaver 3 to CS4

    Hi there
I've recently upgraded from Dreamweaver 3 to CS4 but now find that quite a bit of my formatting has been altered, particularly with tables.  Does anyone know if there's an easy way to remedy this throughout my site or do I have to go into every page and manually change font sizes etc?
    Many thanks'
    Chrissie

    Hey thanks John
    Here's the home page:   www.maristrugby.org.nz
I've uploaded a 'converted' (to CS4) page, it's very messy but I've loaded it up for now so that you can see the problems I'm having:
    http://www.maristrugby.org.nz/events/spillane.html
Hopefully there will be a relatively 'easy' answer!
    Thanks again

  • Where can I buy an upgrade from Dreamweaver CS5 to CS6?

I am looking to get an upgrade from my current Dreamweaver CS 5.0 to CS 6.0
    I found this upgrade
Adobe Dreamweaver CS6 Upgrade from CS5.5 WIN/MAC [Download]
that is from CS5.5 to 6.0, but I don't know if it will ONLY work with CS5.5 or if it will also upgrade the 5.0 version as well
Anyone know how i can upgrade my dreamweaver to version 6?

I'm reasonably certain the upgrade you found at that third party site would not work with your version.
But it looks like you still qualify for partial upgrade pricing through Adobe, it drops from $399 for the full version to $249 going from 5.0 to 6.0 (skipping 5.5)...
    http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/cs6._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software_sl_c reativesuite6.html?promoid=KFPHB
    1. Click the Buy link under the Dreamweaver CS6 $399..00 price.
    2. Change "I want to buy" to "Upgrade"
    3. Change "I own" to "CS5" and the price changes to the Upgrade Pricing
If you had 5.5, the price would only be $125 to upgrade through Adobe (that third party site is charging a little more than Adobe does for the same upgrade).

  • Just upgraded machine, Dreamweaver and Flash not working

I've been using Dreamweaver MX and Flash MX on my old Power Mac G5 for the last 5 years and just upgraded to a new Mac Pro Quad Core Intel Xeon processor. It is a 64 bit system using Mac OS10.6.4.
They do not run on this new machine. Is there any way to get them to run on it?
If not, do I have to pay full price for new software or is there an upgrade available?
    Thanks,
    Glenn Nevill

If you want the new version you would have to pay the full price.  The Adobe policy is upgrade once every 3 versions.  MX was version 6, CS5 is version 11.  I would recommend purchasing the new suite if you can.  Otherwise, if it ran under Leopard, you may (I am not positive) be able to run Parallels with 10.5 and run MX in a virtual environment.

  • Homepage settings not saved when upgraded to Dreamweaver 8

I recently upgraded from MX2004 to Dreamweaver 8. My
homepage was originally a preset page design (Halo Left Nav) that I
tailored to suit my needs. When I upload the page in dreamweaver 8
my personalised layout has been lost although my information has
remained. Is there any way that I can add the Page Design CSS Halo
Left Nav to my existing page without having to redesign the whole
thing. Although I am computer literate, this is the first website I
have designed so I am new to this. Any help would be greatly
appreciated as I have spent the last few hours looking everywhere
for an answer to this problem.
    Peace.

    Let's see the page, please.

  • Can I upgrade only dreamweaver from creative suite 5.5

I own Adobe Creative Suite 5.5. I am not in the graphics or web publishing business, so it more of a hobby and our business website. Can I only upgrade Dreamweaver to the newest version?

Dreamweaver 5.5 is fine. If it is your hobby, there is no need to upgrade. It works as well today as it did before the release of CS6. However, I might mention that the Creative Cloud is a real bargin at this point. I know many people who spend more on their coffee.

  • Upgrade to Dreamweaver CC to get widget browser (was: Dreamweaver CC)

    Hi everybody!
I currently have Dreamweaver, Flash, and Photoshop all in CS6, I was never really looking to update until I found out that I can no longer use the Adobe widget browser. That was a big part of my designs as I would insert certain widgets. Do you guys think it is worth upgrading? I am a student so I could get the full bungle for a good discount price a month.
    Thanks!

If you own a perpetual license of DWCS6 there's really no reason to upgrade and start paying monthly while you're in school (save that cash for Chipotle, Caribou and Papa Johns). Sure, there were some nifty updates, but you still have all the functionality you need in CS6 to make modern sites.
Use the Adobe Add-ons site to get widgets, extensions and what-not: https://creative.adobe.com/addons
Or better yet, learn how to add jQuery plug-ins by hand since they aren't limited by the development tool you use. There are many thousands more people online developing jQuery plug-ins than there are developing DW extensions/widgets so your library of effects is much, much larger with pretty minimal investment into learning the basics.

  • Problem after upgrade the Dreamweaver to version 8.02.

As you know Dreamweaver can generate a code for User Login,
but I found that the code for the two versions are difference.
    8.01 is like that:
    $LoginRS__query=sprintf("SELECT SF_id, Loginid, Loginpwd,
    Role, CN_id FROM tbl_staff WHERE Loginid='%s' AND Loginpwd='%s'",
    get_magic_quotes_gpc() ? $loginUsername :
    addslashes($loginUsername), get_magic_quotes_gpc() ? $password :
    addslashes($password));
    8.02 is like that:
    $LoginRS__query=sprintf("SELECT SF_id, Loginid FROM tbl_staff
    WHERE SF_id=%s AND Loginid=%s",
    GetSQLValueString($loginUsername, "int"),
    GetSQLValueString($password, "text"));
Both codes are okay, but there is a serious bug about 8.02,
because if I make any change for the code about the part of User
Login (even I press <Enter> key), it will show double
“Login User” in Server Behavior and show the warming
message about it cannot analyze “Login User” and
    “Login User”.
I attach two code, the different between them is I add one
    line below the "$_SESSION['MM_UserGroup'] = $loginStrGroup;", but
even I make the minor change, it will get the problem
Please help me to fix the bug.

Maybe part of this might help...
Please forgive this sideways reply, but it might be useful to point out that Apple has said that very soon they will make available the new operation system, Mavericks, that has some remarkable battery saving aspects.
Just a thought...maybe waiting would be a better alternative?
