I have a GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon processor and want to make sure I can upgrade to Illustrator CC 2014.   Can anyone help?

  • Upgrade error illustrator CC 2014 - Patch failed

Creative Clouds states that Illustrator has successfully installed, but that a patch failed..
I have manually uninstalled and reinstalled Illus. When that did not work, I uninstalled all adobe products restrated my PC and reinstalled everything.
    Same error.
The error reads as follows when I open illustrator:
    Error reads: Error loading plugins.
    ContextMenuTouch.aip
    CurvatureTool.aip
    CurvatureToolUI.aip
    CurvatureFittingSuite.aip
    DesignLibrary.aip
    PNGExport.aip
    SketchingTools.aip
    TouchStatusBarUI.aip

When starting Illustrator after I get the above error, this is what I get:
    The procedure entry point
?UI_DoPointerEvent@UI_ScrollView@controls@dvaui@@MEAANPEAVUI_Node@ui@3@AEBVPointerEvent@53 @@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library dvaui.dll

  • Illustrator CC 2014 Cintiq Issues after upgrade?

I recently upgraded to Illustrator CC 2014 - and now I am having issues drawing with the Blob and Pen tools on my Cintiq. When I hover over areas where art exists the cursor freezes until I go to a blank area of the artboard. Off the art, even then, the response is sporadic.
I have deleted my Wacom drivers for all users, and reinstalled. Deleted my Illustrator preferences. Restarted. And finally, had to uninstall Illustrator and downgrade to pre 2014 Illustrator CC.
Everything is fine with my Intuos, it's just the Cintiq.

I have the same problem... did you ever figure it out?
I've got a 13hd touch but the issues you described are the same.

  • How can I turn off the Illustrator CC 2014 hello screen permanently?

I just upgraded to Illustrator CC 2014, and I'm somewhat baffled by the apparent inability to turn off the hello screen. Maybe it's easy, but I don't see how to do it.
Under the "Help" menu I do see a check mark beside "Hello...", but clicking it does not turn the hello screen off. When I shut down the screen using the red x in the panel's upper left corner, it does go away, and it can be turned back on using the "Help" menu entry. I just don't want it to appear... ever. I'd love to be able to use Illustrator the way I want to and not feel the need to close that superfluous panel every time I open the software.
Thanks ahead of time for any input.

@ThePorge - are you sure you're looking at the bottom of the "Getting Started", "New Features", or "Tips & Techniques" panel?  You'll need to scroll down to the bottom of them to see the footer where this checkbox is located.  (Its not in the Create panel at all.)  If you can't find it, its possible the software thinks you're a trial user for some reason.  Do you see a Days Left in Your Trial countdown in the upper right corner of the Welcome screen?  That would indicate it thinks you're a trial user.  Can you attach a screen shot?

  • Illustrator cc 2014 grid snap problem

Since Updating to the whole cc2014 suite last week, grid snapping in Illustrator has been terrible. Literally Nothing really snaps to the grid.
Does anyone share this problem? Anyone has a solution to this?
And Yes, i've turned off 'align to pixel grid'.
I'm working on a mac with OSX 10.9.3 running.
    Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same exact issue. Before I upgraded to Illustrator CC 2014 I was using Illustrator CS6 and resizing a rectangle that's *off* the pixel grid would snap it to the pixel grid correctly. The snapping to pixel grid is the main reason I use Illustrator for web UI design. There were some bugs in CS6, like if the artboard was not snapped to the pixel grid then all the elements on the page would be off the pixel grid at the same distance that the artboard was off. That was an easy fix - just realign the artboard to the pixel grid and all the rectangle objects would snap to the grid when resized. But with Illustrator CC 2014 nothing snaps to the pixel grid.
    HOW TO REPRODUCE:
    Create a new document.
    Go to Pixel Preview.
    Zoom in to pixel level.
Drag a rectangle on the screen.
As you can see - IT IS snapped to the pixel grid (it happens only on creation).
Grab the free transform anchor point and drag it up and to the right.
As you can see - IT IS NOT snapped to the pixel grid.
Try to drag the corner to free transform it to snap to the pixel grid. It doesn't work.
Try to snap it to the pixel grid - it doesn't snap.
Try to snap it to the pixel grid - it doesn't snap.
    Profit? No.
    SCREENCAST:
    http://quick.as/y0rwhymv
    GIF:
As you can see it's very hard to snap to pixel. And even when it looks like it snaps, it actually is not on the pixel grid line.

    IMAGES:
    Dragging new rectangle:
    1create.png
Resize it using free transform - gets off the pixel grid.
    2drag.png
Continue to try to snap it back to the pixel grid using the transform tool, but still doesn't work:
    3drag.png
Rinse and repeat. Still really bad. Snapping to pixel doesn't work anymore!
    4drag-but-nothing.png
As you can see there is no way of snapping a rectangle back to the pixel grid!! Here are my settings:

Illustrator team - PLEASE FIX THIS BUG! I love using Illustrator for web design and UI mockups, but this bug makes it almost useless. There's no way to create pixel perfect designs with this bug. I hope all the information I provided above helps pinpoint the bug. Thanks!

  • Can Illustrator CC open illustrator CC (2014) files?

Can Illustrator CC open illustrator CC (2014) files? I am in a production environment where we run Snow Leopard and we can't upgrade to Illustrator CC (2014) because it requires Lion.

AiCC 2014 files will open fine in AICC. However, for the cases where any new type of content has been created with new features in AICC 2014, you might see some change.
    Thanks,
    Dhirendra

    Hi
I have discovered that my question above is a non-question. A user triggered by looking at the below article about Illustrator 2014 cc 17.0.2
    http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/release-note/illustrator-17-0-2-release-notes.html
He had recently upgraded from wht we now know is 18.0 to 18.1 which is the latest version. He read the above artic
le and supposed that it was a bug fix release for his version - because the v17 ov18 number is not often displayed. It is usually just 2014 CC.
I have asked him to post a bug report about Adobe Illustrator CC 2014.1

  • Illustrator cc 2014 can't save files

    Hi!
I Have a lot of problems with the Illustrator CC 2014. And it freaks me out. I have no idea how to reach Adobe. I've tried another Adobe forum but haven't heard anything.. I would appreciate some sort of help. Or if someone knows where to post the question?
    1) First of all can't save files… I wish this could be the number one feature in a design app but apparently not..
I got   "unknown error " and all work spent is gone forever. This happens a lot.
    2) also lagging problems. when moving graphics and zooming in illustrator. it is SO stressful.
I have Two computers, with the same problems.
    Imac 27 " mid 2011
Processor 3,4 ghz intel core i7
    16 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3
AMD Redeon HD 6970M 1024 MB
    Osx X lion 10.7.5
    Imac 27" Retina 5k late 2014
    3,5 ghz intel core i5
    32 GB 1600 mhz DDr3
    AMD Radeon R9
    OsX Yosemite 10.10.1

    Nils Petter,
If no brighter suggestion comes up, you may try the list, see below.
Did you install fully on both computers (after upgrading the OS if relevant)?
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media. You may have tried/done some of them already; 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
If possible/applicable, you should save current artwork first, of course.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to at least 5 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you may find the folder here:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/preference-file-location-illustrator.html
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall (ticking the box to delete the preferences), run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Illustrator CC 2014 says it's up to date but it isn't

    Hey,
Creative Cloud says the Illustrator CC 2014 is up to date but the very latest upgrade won't update. I've tried uninstalling the app, removing the OPM.db file and reinstalling to no avail.

    Try
_ Empty your temp folder .
_ Delete the "AAMUpdater" and "AAMUpdaterInventory" in:
    MAC :
    <Startup Disk>/Library/Application Support/Adobe    and     /Users/<user name>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/
    WIN :
    C:\Program files\common files\adobe   and      C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Adobe

  • The multi level "isolation mode" don't work after the last upgrading to Illustrator CC 18.1.0? by the right mouse button menu

    PROVA

Yes, I know that, but I ever work with the right mouse button,
because selecting groups and subgroups with double click make some confusion for me.

  • Illustrator CC 2014 - Message - "Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the required operation."

We have 3 Macs OS 10.7.5, 16Gb and are all using Illustrator CC 2014. Since the Macs upgraded to CC 2014 all are exhibiting the same message, at random during deisgn, "Can't finish previewing. Could not complete the required operation.". At this point clicking on the "OK" button causes the screen graphics to appear in outline mode and unable to access / select any further commands, apart from "close".
Reverting back to the initial CC (which is still installed on the systems) shows no problems in completing the designs. Hence it appears that all the above issues seem apparent only since the latest CC upgrade.
Does anyone have any ideas as to this issue and any possible resolutions.

For the last few months, I've been having the exact same problem and it is driving me CRAZY. I finally contacted Adobe a few weeks ago regarding the issue and they had me clear out my preferences. All seemed fine for a few days... but then it came back again and seems worse now. It happened so often today I lost count. Very frustrating.

  • Illustrator CC 2014 stops responding

My Illustrator CC 2014 stops responding lot long after I upgraded my OS to Mac OS Yosemite. I tried to restart and shut down my computer, and reinstall the program, but nothing resolve the problem. I was creating some PNG files from the vectors I have when the Illustrator crashed. So, there were some copy/ paste and drop shadow effects. Even though, there are a lot of files to be copy/ paste, I always deleted the objects once I created the PNG file and paste a new one. So, the file itself at the moment is about 2.6 MB.
Anybody here can help me with problem?
    Thanks.

Ok, I actually solved this problem by deleting the preference files following this link.
    http://www.illustratorhints.com/2010/05/delete-preferences-file/
Hope this will help others with the same problem.
