Upgrading to iTunes+ music that was dled with another account?

Before I had a credit card, I used my mom's account to purchase music. I then authorized my computer to play this music. Is there any way to upgrade this music to iTunes Plus? It says the album is available in +, but it doesn't give me the option to upgrade it. Thanks.

So I have an iPod classic 60GB that I got from my brother in law. There are over 3000 songs on it and I'm wanting to know if I can just transfer the DRM free songs to my library. There appears to be 2 accounts that songs on the iPod were purchased with. I would obviously like to have the songs that will play on my computer, but would rather not have to deal with finding each individual song and then deleting them if they won't play. iTunes Match will do that for you, turn it on in the Store menu (in iTunes). It's $25 per year.

Just to clarify: I purchased some of my older music in iTunes with an account that got deleted. I cannot recover or use this old account. I transferred music from my old iTunes to a new computer and that new iTunes on the new computer is asking me to sign into the old account to authorize the music. So, is there another way to transfer this music to my new iTunes? I'm using a USB thumb drive to transfer the music. Also, music that was purchased with my current account tranfers just fine.

If you see someone else's Apple ID, then no, you can't update someone else's app.

There is no such thing as a "sub-account." Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account." Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases. iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account). You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying. You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend. Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library. Is that on a different computer? How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
You got a new iPod. What is your "old iTunes"? Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend?

Transfer songs from a ipod mini that was created from another account

I bought a used ipod mini that came loaded with over 400 songs which I would like to add to my itunes MAC account. The ipod mini is in Windows format and I understand that at sometime in the future I will have to restore the ipod mini in order to convert the device from Windows to MAC format thereby losing all the songs and data that are currently on the ipod. My itunes level is 7.6.1. I am running OS X 10.4.5.
Is there any way to transfer or upload the songs from this device to my IMAC itunes account even though the songs were purchased and downloaded to the device by the original owner using his Windows itunes account.

Since you did not purchase the songs, they are not legally yours to keep.

For more clarification;
I purchased my friend ipad with some applications that already downloaded before. I could use those apps & games easily but when i need to update any, i couldn't because i have to have an App account.
I created a new app account, now i can purchase & download any app but i can't update an old App that was purchased through my friend account.
Please take into your concederation that i don't want to delete the App & redownload it as i don't want to miss my data registed before.

You can't transfer purchases from one account to the other. Your friend had no right selling you the iPod with purchases on it made from his account.

Itunes keeps threatening to delete music from my ipod that was bought with an account that no longer exists. How do I keep the music?

My original itunes account was set up with a work email, so when I left the company, I contacted support to have a new user name and transfer the library. Now each time I synch, it is trying to match up to the original purchase from the original account, rather than just with my current list. I can no longer access the first itunes account, because it doesn't exist anymore.

Hey there~ I had a similar experience, when the email I used to set up the account was hacked and subsequently shut down by Hotmail. If you contacted Support to change the name, but not the email address, you will need to do so again.
Also worth noting~ if, at any time, you synced your device to your work computer, you'll need to contact Support to deauthorize it and enable your current one.

I downloaded a tune from the Itunes store and when I try to add it to a project in iMovie, it does not show in the Music list. Is there way way it can be shown to use it in an iMovie project?

How can I update an app (iphoto) that was registered with another apple id?

I bought an used Macbook Air, with Macosx 10.7.3 on it. It included apps like Iphoto and garage band. When I want to update them, I can't because the App Store is requiring the old apple ID.
Is there a way to change the apple ID for updates of apps that came with the OS?
I've tried to trash Iphoto and download it again from the app store but instead of "install" the button says "Accept" (to accept updates). However, when I click on it it asks for the old Apple ID.

Hello,
You can't merge or change Apple ID. Applications are tied with the Apple ID used to make the purchases.
In your case the only way to download them again is to use the old Apple ID.

Yes there is. Those songs are not actually on your iPad. They are in iCloud ready for download if you choose to do so. If you want to remove them go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Show All>Music>Off. You can also do this in Settings>Music>Show All Music>Off.

Since this first message, the "Other" space has increased exponentially. The first time, after the "restore", it increased to over 9 GB. Later, I tried a minor restore again, and now it's over 10 GB. I've seen someone suggest that text messages are to blame. If my text messages are suddenly taking up 4 GB of space, I think we've got bigger problems.
