Upgrading to Mavericks stopped my running of Maginon Film Scanner FS 500. Has anyone any news of an upgrade to the device's software?
Try using it with Image Capture, if you haven't already.

I have a maginon film scanner bought from ALDI. It works with windows but with OSX Maverick software it keeps crashing as soon as I try and capture an image. I cannot find details of software updates anywhere.

I just popped in with using Mavericks (I got rid of my MBP about a year ago, and just got another one when I got an Air for my wife) and noticed that Mavericks is not working and playing well with a couple of programs I already owned (Paraellels, for example...yes, I spelled it wrong...). I looked for maginon.com and it didn't exist, nor was my google search directed to another location for them, so I postulate that the device may not be in production anymore, thus: no driver updates from the manufacturer.
From my mac-noob-layman's perspective: get some vmware, run windows and use the scanner in your virt machine to capture your images. Put the images in your mac side and work your mac magic on them there.

How can I uninstall Maverick and reinstall snow leopard?
My mac hasn't been the same since I upgrading to maverick. Runs slow, crashes, can't cope with normal functions....
I need to go back to leopard or buy a new MacBook Pro!

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, you will have to contact Support in the country where you and your iTunes account to get the questions reset.

After I upgrade to maverick I cannot longer use my scanner (Epson Aculaser cx17). Now it works only as printer. Does some one else have a similar problem?
With Lion worked very well.The scanner is not amongst the scanners Apple supports on 10.6 through 10.9:

Now it could use another scanner's engine, thus supporting the driver. It could also support the TWAIN preference in Preview application.
It could also show up in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Print and Scan.

As a first step, open Disk Utility > select your hard drive > repair disk permissions.

hi there , I have Ipad 2. just upgraded to OS 5.1 and now cant transfer any videos to it. videos already stored can be played but when i try to copy any new video, it says that the video cannot be played by Ipad.I have tried mp4, mov, m4v but nothing plays.
Log in to the Developer forum. You will find instructions on how to install the lastest beta. Your problem is the beta you have installed has expired. All of them did on October 5; you will find hundreds of threads discussing this. If you have a beta it is assumed that you will continue as a beta tester, so a simple update using iTunes will not work.
If you no longer want to be a beta tester install the GM 7.0.2 by restoring from iTunes using DFU mode. -
Once I upgrades to Mavericks, I first had trouble viewing my old documents saved in iCloud. Apple Support phone call solved this. Now I notice I cannot share any of my documents/pages via email. It never gets past the "next" page for sharing via email. Anyone with same problem?
I actually have the same problem, since I upgraded to Mavericks my MacBook Pro can't seem to find the Bose sounddock 10. Has anyone found a solution to this.

Since upgrading to Mavericks, what to do with existing Pages as opposed to new downloaded Pages?
Since upgrading to Mavericks, I can't use Pages in the dock. Have to go to utilities to use Pages. Do I remove the old Pages from the dock and then move new Pages to dock or what?
Calendar is a system app that lives in the Applications folder, as such it is the same app as the original Calendar.app. Pages is a new app & replaces the last version, however Apple think you may still need the old version so they moved it aside & created a new one inside the apps folder. It's unclear what is the right thing to do with the Dock icon in this case, because of the two copies.
Both should still work, the older one has some features that the new one doesn't, so keep both around if you have a lot of Pages files, you never know when it might be needed. -
I have windows 7 on dell laptop. I am working on a Word Document and want to go to a diff window for some information. I click on the FF icon on my desktop and get a message that says...FF is already running but is not responding. To open a new window, you must close the existing ff process or restart your system..how do you close the existing ff process?

The problem is that Canon MP600 is old and have no interface for scan, even command from the printer function keyboard.Erase your hard drive then install the OS X version your prefer. If you have a backup of the old system, then erase the drive and restore the backup.
Since you haven't provided any useful information about your hardware or what system you want to install, this is as far as i csn go. -
