Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You just have to enable journaling. To do it, open Disk Utility (in /Applications/Utilities) and choose Macintosh HD or your OS X volume in the sidebar. Then, you will see the button to enable journaling in the toolbar, so press it. When it finishes, run the OS X Mountain Lion installer.
Make a backup before upgrading and check that your applications are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com

Upgraded to mountain lion and Adobe Flash won't load any suggestions
Upgraded to Mountain Lion 3 days ago. After 30 min determined I needed the newest version of Adobe Flash. After going to the site I attempted to download the lastest version and for a moment it looked as if it was downloading but would never pop up "install". No download appeared either. Going thru the trouble shooting guide I changed my preferences to allow 3rd party cookies and the eliminated all references to "flash" in my library. Still no results. Geez, I have spent 2 hours on this new upgrade and was doing better before. Any help out there.?
Download Adobe Flash Player 11.4.402.265. Open the disc image to mount. Double-click on the installer and install Flash.

I upgraded from the app store. It is actually quite awhile ago so I do not remember how. I think I used a thumbdrive to create some type of file. No I do not have any backups. My iLife CD is nowhere to be found because this is a very old macbook pro that I've had for a couple years.

What a disaster and huge mistake. Upgraded to Mountain Lion and now I can't run Autocad 2012 for Mac, any of my Adobe Creative suites software such as Photoshop, Illustrator.. and now I can't even do upgrades because Mountain Lion doesn't allow me to launch DMGs. I've lost thousands of $'s in software, not to mention time, but most importantly now I can't even work! I just tried to revert back to Snow Leopard by intalling it back in my hard drive and it won't let me. I never used Time Machine. Is there any way on earth I can revert back to my old operating software??? Please help. And if you haven't upgraded yet and are thinking about it. BEWARE - and don't do it. I've been reading that Mountain Lion isn't working with Microsoft applications either. Omy...I haven't even checked that.

So basically I can't use ANY of the programs I ran before. And yes I have googled desperately all day. And most importantly provides am Adobe Licensing Repair tool to fix - which I can't open because Mountain Lion won't mount the DMG in order to run it! It's a complete disaster and I don't have the money or time to purchase and or reinstall everything. I am just screwed.
No you are not, calm down, cbs20 already gave you the answer on opening dmg files, updates are available for most of your programs and I assume you have licenses for the Adobe products. AutoCad you'll have to wait for.
And please .... Start Backing Things Up, you could lose it all without one, work included. -
I used to be able to "Save" my material in PAGES. I upgraded to "Mountain Lion" and now when I go to "Save", it says "permission denied". How can I correct this?
<E-mail Edited by Host>Several users have had this problem in Mountain Lion. The system has decided you don't have read/write permissions. Have you done any updates to your system lately? Using Disk Utility to repair permissions after any upgrade or update, especially to the system, is a good practice. So first, I would repair permissions & then if you still have the problem, locate the file in Finder & go to File > Get Info & look in the Sharing & Permissions section. You should be the only one with read/write permissions but something has happened. Click on the words under "priveledge" next to your name & change it to read & write. You will probably have to enter your admin password.

What you posted is rather vague. By doesn't work do you mean the applications don't open at all or are you getting a message stating that your product needs activation? If it's product activation then that is something that Microsoft will have to assist you with. If your problem is that the applications simply won't open you may have to uninstall and reinstall Office again. This is common on the Windows platform too. Rarely when you upgrade to a new OS Office sometimes has an issue with the upgrade and won't open correctly. I would suggest merely uninstalling and reinstalling. Nine times out of ten that helps. -
Upgraded to Mountain Lion and my calendars do not appear.
I have just upgraded to Mountain Lion (OS 10.8.1).
In iCal my different calendars did not appear, I just get a blank calendar.
I always synced iCal with my iPhone before and this is the first problem I have had.
I have found that I need to use a me.com server address on the CalDev server as it seems to have forgotten that I am a .mac user!
So I am stuck using a me.com server which doesn't really help me at all!
There is NO CalDev server that answers to mac.com.

I object most strongly to being FORCED to do anything (I have OCD which negatively impacts upon my life every day) and dug my heels in for as long as I could, but eventually I had to go through with the 'wrong' server and it has worked, so far.Did you check other places on your HD?

ThanksI have exactly the same problem but with a worringly more complex situation. I too can see TC in finder. I can see the backup disk for my iMac in TM. I can also see the backup disk for my MBP in TM (this sits on a HD that is daisy chained to my 1TB TC).
Here's the worring bit. My MBP was upgraded to Moutain Lion but my iMac is still on Lion. Both have the same issue in that all disks can be seen as normal but not connect to make backups.
I receive the notificaiton that includes: "cannot connect...xxxtimecapsule.local. Verify server name or IP address. "
I have made a backup since the Mountain Lion upgrade with no issues then suddenly it cannot connect to repsective backup disks on either machine. I was attempting a restore of my MBP from my backup so I could have a cleaner disk to create a new partition for windows. When I choose the backup disk to restore from (in recovery mode) was when it failed to connect and its been downhill from there.
Router works fine and I am still connected to my dsl modem,
I have reset TC and all machines. I am now at a complete loss! -

If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.

The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.

I have upgraded to Mountain Lion and have found that some of my software no longer works, notably Image Browser and also the Epson Scanner Perfection 3490 software. Is there a 'patch' or way to allow me to use these programmes especially the scanner.
Apple discontinued support for PowerPC apps with Lion, I think, so you're out of luck there. No patch coming, unfortunately. Best to upgrade whatever old applications you have or, since it seems like you're using some relatively old software, scout around for replacements that give you the functionality you need.
Go to Apple menu > System Preferences > Print & Scan and select your scanner from the list--if it's not there you'll need to add it (start with the little plus icon). Once you have it in the list you can click on the Open Scanner button and a pretty barebones scanner driver will load for you. But Image Capture (as mentioned previously), found in your Applications folder, will probably do the job as adequately, or better, than your old scanner software. -

Just upgraded to mountain lion and my HP Laserjet p1102W to print (worked fine via USB with Snow Leopard; I never had set it up wirelessly, though had wanted to do so.) HP site said if printer worked with Snow Leopard nothing would need to be done; update of drivers would be automatic within Mountain Lion upgrade. No such luck. My Macbook Pro and HP Printer are not talking to each other. HELP, please!

When I tried to print, I was told to get new drivers from HP. HP site says what I wrote above, that I need do nothing if printer worked with Snow Leapord. Also read that a new HP Laserjet would need to be connected only via Airprint. So, I have deleted the printer from the print queue, thinking that might help, but I can't find how to install it via Airprint?? After deleting the printer and having no luck with connecting wirelessly, I tried plugging in USB from printer to MacBook pro, too, thinking maybe that would help, but there is no recognition at all.
What am I missing???

That's wrong. AirPrint is not just for iOS devices. Since HP doesn't provide drivers for this printer, they say to use AirPrint:

I've reset my PPAM before to get around Firmware lock, but I've upgraded to mountain lion and now need to do the same thing, but I can't reset the PRAM. I've heard of the chip that is on the post 2011 macs, but I must not have one? What to do? Also, I can not get start up chimes unless I have the factory startup disk in. Can the PRAM be reset with the factory startup disk in or must the mac boot from the hard drive? Need help.
