Upgrading to new iPhone

My wife and I will be upgrading to new iPhones soon and I was curious to know how to make sure that my contacts and all content inside my apps are saved and will be uploaded to our new phones. What do I need to do make sure all my contacts and content inside my apps are saved and can be uploaded to our new phones.

Upgrade to new iPhone with old Alltel plan?

I'm currently on an LG Banter using my plan that I had with Alltel before Verizon bought it out. Plan is as so:
1200 minutes
Unlimited M2M (voice and text)
Unlimited nights and weekends (voice)
1 F&F number (voice, text, pics)
400 messages
Basically what you need to get out of that is the F&F number for voice, text, and pics. For my purposes, that is just as good as unlimited texting, but a good deal cheaper. Is it possible to get the new iPhone while adding a data plan to my current plan, or will I have to make a new plan from scratch, thus losing my F&F?

I believe you will lose your current Alltel plan if you upgrade, as the plan is no longer offered.

Upgrading my new iphone on itunes

I just upgraded my old iphone to an iphone 4. I was able to set up the new phone last night and sinc it with my itunes account. There appears to be something wrong with the sinc, as my account is now saying that I can't use this phone until I start the Apple Mobile Device service. It doesn't even show a device. What gives?

Type "Apple Mobile Device service" into the search bar at the top of this screen by "Support" and see if the resulting articles help.

Upgrade to New iPhone from 4s

Is there a way I will be able to upgrade to the "iPhone 5" when I'm under a 2 year contract with a 4s?

But can I buy it a full retail price from Verizon? or would it have to be from somewhere else?
Also, how would I swap my phone line to the new phone?

Upgraded to new iPhone, and built-in apps are missing

I just upgraded to a new iPhone. I restored the data from my old iPhone.
But now the new iPhone is missing the built-in apps it came with. I thought there was supposed to be a compass, but it is nowhere to be found.
I'm not referring to iTunes store-bought apps, but the apps that come with the iPhone.
How can I get them back?

I recently upgraded my phone to an iPhone 4s. The phone works fine purchased things from iTunes, then received two emails asking to verify apple email address within a minute of each other, clinked on one link and verified my email and it told me my email was verified but I would have to go to settings to activate mobile me (don't know what that is but it not on my phone) have not clinked on second email. Is this normal.

MobileMe is dead now.

Upgraded to new iPhone

I recently just got the iPhone 4S, and when I was putting all of my stuff back onto it, I said to use the backup from my iPhone 3GS and didn't register it as a new device, which now I'm thinking is a mistake. It downloaded everything that I had on my old iPhone, but now I am wondering, does the "computer" think it's still my 3GS? If so, what will happen when I plug in the 3GS?

Hi - I actually did try to do the pairing mode but it kept hunting. I followed the instructions but it wouldn't work.
I ended up taking it to the apple store and they did something to it to get it to work.

Trying to set up my new iphone 5s from the cloud

Im trying to set up my new iphone 5s by restoring from the cloud. When I get to the "choose backup" screen, i try to choose my latest back up, but nothing happens. the wring is in gray and nothing happens when I touch it. the bottum of the screen says "No icoud backups are compatibel with the version of iOS(7.0.4) on this iphone) Please help. I can't use my phone and I need to make some calls.

It sounds as if your new iPhone has iOS 7.0.4, but the backup was performed using iOS 7.1. if that is the case, here is how to solve this:
1. Upgrade your new iPhone to iOS 7.1. If it cannot yet get to Setitings, set is up as a new iPhone. Then do Settings > General > Software Update.
2. Prepare to restore the iCloud backup. The way to do this is to now do Settings > Gerneral > Reset > Erase all content and settings
3. Restore the iCloud Backup. You will now be directed through the "Hello", set up WiFi, enter your Apple ID, and choose a backup.
This will only work if your old backup used the same telephone number, cellular carrier, and Apple ID of the new iPhone.

Updated new iphone 4s and battery life is poor

Since I upgraded my new iphone 4s the battery life has become really poor. As soon as its unplugged its lost life!

Depending on the settings for your social media apps, your usage can very. If, for example, Facebook is checking the status to often, your battery is more likely to be drained. Same for mail and other push/fetch services.
Sometimes it helps to delete the account and set it up again, there have been cases in which those apps got stuck trying to connect to their servers.
If you restored the phone from the latest backup you made, did you reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for at least 10sec, until the Apple logo came back again?

Wanting to upgrade when the iPhone 4 comes out

I was watching the keynote and Steve Jobs mentioned that any contract that ends in 2010 can get upgrade the new iPhone at the upgrade price, does that mean only current iPhone users or all AT&T customers?

Correct. As long as your contract is upgradable ( basically almost at the end of your 2 years) then you are able to get a phone upgrade. Having the Impression may affect you getting an iPhone. Meaning you may have to pay the difference, if at all.

I recently upgraded from my iPhone 3 to iPhone 4S. My old iPhone had been unable to sync for some time and I blamed it on the faulty cable. With my new cable I tried to sync the 3 before advancing to the 4S to be sure I had all my data. Will not sync.

New iPhone / Old Tiger MacBook that can't upgrade to new iTunes - will iCloud save me?

Thanks in advance for your advice. I have a newer iPhone (jailbroken and unlocked if that matters) and an older MacBook 10.4.11 on Tiger. I tried to link up my new phone with iTunes but got the error that I must have the newer iTunes which is not available for Tiger. I dutifully tried to upload to Leopard but my computer just stalls at the reboot.   I have made 10g of space on it but it just spins and spins. It could be my disk drive or maybe more space is needed?   I have two levels of questions
1.   Will the new iCloud service in the Fall bypass this problem anyway?   I could if needed upload things to my work newer at-work computer if it somehow can upload my iphone content from the old phone and then wait it out until September.
2. Thoughts on why the upgrade won't take for my Tiger MacBook?

You mentioned you had a newer 'at work' computer?
You could sync your old phone to that one and than sync your new phone using the same iTunes account and password.
Your photos, as you probably know, are synced from a photo folder on your computer. If you have this folder shared or on an external drive you could plug that drive into the 'work' computer and sync from that.
An easier method may be for you to back-up your old iPhone on the 'work computer' and then restore the new iPhone from that back-up on the 'work computer'. This would sync your photos, iCal, contacts, etc.
