Upgrading to photo elements 7,help

can i upgrade to pe7 from pe6, how much or is it free

It is certainly not free. The actual price will depend on from which channel are you buying it from and from where.
From Adobe.com it is seeming that the Upgrade without membership will cost you near $80. I dont know what will be the exact price after taxes and all.
Check out on web to get the best deal possible.

  • How  do  I purchase  an upgrade to Photo Elements 12

What is the procedure for ordering an upgrade to version 12?

Just purchase it and have your serial number available. However, it's usually cheaper to buy the full version from a big box store or online retailer if you shop around. The upgrade for PSE is rarely a deal.

  • Need help with Photo Elements 11.0

I own Photo Elements 11.0 but can no longer use it.  When I try to open Organizer, I keep getting an error message telling me that my license has expired.  If instead I try to open Editor, I get an error message telling me that my pictures Library is not working.  WTF is going on??

I have tried this.  I downloaded the LicenseRecovery109.zip program and hit “Save.”  I then downloaded WinZip.  But when I open WinZip and try to find the LicenseRecovery109.zip file, it keeps telling me the file does not exist.  Please help.  This is ridiculous that I have to go through this for a program I paid for.

  • Can't upgrade catalog from Elements 8 -thinks photos are on backup drive...

I've just bought LR3 (and upgraded to latest 3.2 release), and now I want to import all my photos from my Elements 5 collection (just over 10,000 photos - mostly RAW). All the photos are actually stored on a network share from my Windows Home Server machine, all accessible as \\home-server\photos\. Elements 5 has no problems with accessing them this way, and I can also access them fine from Lightroom, but I obviously want to retain all my keywording.
As there doesn't appear to be any way to upgrade a PSE5 catalog to LR3, I followed a recommendation I found on this forum (I think), and have downloaded a trial of PSE8. I have successfully upgraded a copy of the PSE5 catalog to PSE8 format, and then view them all in PSE8, so step one is a success. When I launched LR3, it then gave me a new option to upgrade an Elements catalog - this was a step forward. So, I took the option to upgrade the PSE8 catalog to LR, but after attempting it I see a window that says:
"Lightroom has successfully upgraded one Photoshop Elements catalog photo, but was unable to upgrade 10729 additional photos because the photos were moved to inaccessible Photoshop Elements backup drives. If you wish to manage the Photoshop Elements backup photos in Lightroom, please use Lightroom to import images from the following Photoshop Elements backup discs."
The photos are most definitely not on "backup drives". I've never backed up photos from Elements (my backups are done separately from my Home Server). Lightroom can see the relevant shares, as I've imported a few photos directly onto that share from a card reader, and have also imported some photos on there in a "leave in place", but (as they are RAWs) I don't get any keywording this way.
I'd be most grateful for any suggestions, especially as I won't be able to do anything in PSE8 when my trial runs out....

Thanks for that - that certainly agrees with my findings so far.
Do I take it you've had this confirmed by someone from Adobe then? Is it an intended limitation, or just an acknowledged bug?
I really hope it isn't an intended limitation, as it would mean that this high cost professional-targeted app (LR3) is not capable of something that the consumer level one (PSE8) does with ease. Surely it isn't that unusual to store your photos on a network drive.....
If this isn't likely to be fixed soon I guess I'll have to :
Backup (network drive based) photos and catalog
Use PSE8 to move the whole directory tree to internal hard drive
    Upgrade PSE8 catalog in LR3
Use LR3 to move the whole directory tree back to the network drive
Not ideal, but it should get the job done...
Yes, confirmed by Adobe.  It's a design limitation *of the PSE upgrader*.  You can use LR3 to store images on a network drive, you just can't store the catalog there.  I don't expect this to be fixed soon, so I'd go with the workaround if I were you.
I'm not storing my catalog on the network drive though, just my photos. Even with the catalog on an internal drive, LR3 still fails to upgrade any photos that are on a network drive.
I have though now spoken to a helpdesk chap at Adobe, and he has confirmed that Lightroom is not able to upgrade photos on a network drive. Seems like a really poor show to me, but I don't suppose I can do much about it...

  • HT1229 i have upgraded to yosmite and los my photos can you help please

lost my photos can you help please.

lost my photos can you help please.
    Explain please:
How did you upgrade to Yosemite? Did you make a clean install and wiped the drive? Or did you install on top of the current system? In what way have you lost the photos?
is the iPhoto Library missing? Or do you get an error message, when you try to open iPhoto? What error message exactly?
Have you already updated the iPhoto application? You need to update to iPhoto 9.6 for MacOS X 10.10. The earlier versions will not work.

  • Upgrading from photoshop elements 4 to 10 problems

From being a happy user of photo elements 4  I had to upgrade as Win7 64 bits could not handle Elements 4.
I wish I never had done this as since then I have nothing but troubles and spend so much time trying to
figure out why tagged photo's I know I have don't show up. Sometimes they do and on the next startup in one occasion only 10
percent is shown. This is absolutely unacceptable for an organizer.
One is more or less obliged to upgrade as reorganizing  8000 plus files with  another program would
take long but with the time I spent so far I could better have shifted to  more reliable \software.
Is there a solution to this or would it be better to use another program?

  • Hi.  I have just started using Adobe Photo Elements 11 and Adobe Premiere Elements 11.  I have many pictures in my photo gallery that I would like to use for a project that I am working on.  I opened my photo gallery and it indicated that I could not use

Hi.  I have just started using Adobe Photo Elements 11 and Adobe Premiere Elements 11.  I have many pictures in my photo gallery that I would like to use in a project that I am working on.  When I opened the photo gallery it said I could not use the photo gallery because it has not been updated.  Can someone please help me with this...let me know how to do this...or...Thank you,

BNN, even though I understand what KT is saying, your thought resonates with mine. When it comes to building and maintaining my website, I see myself more as a photographer than as a web designer. Hence, even though Apple may not be actively developing (and we are guessing on this one, arent we) iWeb, the existing functionality should do plenty of good to me for next couple years at least.
That said, they released a point update a few days back and with the whole cloud thing building momentum and mobile me going for free, why would Apple want to pull the plug on such a fantastic product?

  • Will Photo Library Manager help without library file

I recently upgraded to Leopard and added ilife to upgrade my iphoto from a reeaaally old version. I imported photos from the old version and Iphoto was working fine a couple weeks ago. Today, however, when I tried to open it, I got the Choose Your Library message. There is no library listed, nor can I find one. I have not done anything to iphoto or the library file since it was last opened and working fine. Will Photo Library Manager help if there is no library file? Is the albumdata.xml file in the iphoto database or is it somewhere else in my computer? Surely the files are there somewhere! What else can I do? I have a back-up but it has run since I last opened iphoto and I can't find a library file in there either. What is the library file called? Maybe I'm not looking for the write thing...
Thanks for your help. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Did you use Spotlight to try to find your library. If the library was inadvertantly moved to certain areas of the HD Spotlight will not find it. Download and run Find File to search for "Library6.iPhoto". If you get a hit it's a good chance it's the library. Good Luck.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • How do I Export Raw images from Iphoto to Adobe Photo Elements 4

I recently purchased Photo elements 4 because I could import images from Iphoto in Raw format and work with them. Everything I have read and the instructional video sent to me by Adobe make it look and sound very easy but so far I have had no success.
I have been able to open Bridge and view photos from Iphoto so it seems to me that everything that I have in Iphoto is automatically transfered to Elements 4. However I can not find my Raw images. What am I doing wrong or failing to do and is there some logical sequence that I have to follow to import Raw images.
I am using a Nikon D200 and just to be safe I have been shooting so the images are saved both in JPEG and RAW.
Thanks for any help you can provide

    dakota8,
iPhoto and Adobe Bridge are incompatible, so you need to decide which one you want to use (for which photos). iPhoto is a database, with many flexible features for organizing your library and finding your photos. Bridge is a file browser with some organizing capabilities. You absolutely should not use Bridge or any other application (Finder included) to browse the files inside your iPhoto Library folder, as it will damage the iPhoto database. To verify, click on iPhoto's Help and read the section "About using the iPhoto Library."
If you want to keep your RAW files in iPhoto, then you'll need to open them from iPhoto. As Dave E said, this can be done by setting the iPhoto pref to export RAW files. You also need to set PE 4 as the external editor in iPhoto's preferences. With this setup, you can select photos using iPhoto, open the RAW files into PE 4, then edit. Now comes the wrinkle in the workflow. Normally, you would do a Save to cause your edited file to be saved back into the iPhoto library. This Save, not Save As, requires that the filename and extension stay the same. Works great with jpeg files. However, once you edit the RAW, the extension (and file format) must change. Save will not work, because any save at this point is treated like a Save As. So you have to Save As to a folder OUTside of your iPhoto Library, and then import it in as a new file. There will be no link between the edited version and its unedited RAW file. You could organize inside iPhoto to display the edited file beside its original RAW, or keep separate rolls for the originals and edits.
With that in mind, you might not want to save the RAW files in iPhoto at all. You could create your own filing system for them, which you would browse using Bridge. Upload using Image Capture to save your files to a folder of your choice. Once you edit the RAW files and save as another format, you could them import into iPhoto for cataloging or further editing. You'll just have to find the system that works best for you.
BTW, don't save your edited RAW files as Adobe RAW. I tried and discovered that iPhoto refuses to import them at all.
I have been able to open Bridge and view photos from Iphoto so it seems to me that everything that I have in Iphoto is automatically transfered to Elements 4.
There's no transferring involved at all. Bridge is rooting directly inside the iPhoto Library folder. Did I mention that it's best to avoid this?
However I can not find my Raw images.
When you import a file it is saved into the Originals folder. Your RAW files are there, along with any video clips you may have imported.
iPhoto automatically creates a jpeg version of your RAW files and stores it in the Modified folder. It has to do this in order to display the picture on your screen. With video clips, a jpeg of the first frame is created for display purposes.
I am using a Nikon D200 and just to be safe I have been shooting so the images are saved both in JPEG and RAW.
If you import both versions into iPhoto, then you have
    Originals - RAW
    Modified - jpeg
    Originals - jpeg
(Modified - jpeg - if you edit the jpeg version or if they are auto-rotated to portrait orientation)
I don't shoot in RAW, so I can't really comment about which workflow would be the most efficient. I just played with it long enough to realize that there is no easy way to do it.
    Regards.

  • Newbie with Photo Elements 8

I have used Adobe's photo management programs for years but Photo Elements is the most mysterious of them all. I have two questions at this point and may have moer later.  Hope someone has the answers.
    a) How do I get the Timeline to appear at the top of the page? I can't find anything in Preferences that lets me turn it on or off and right clicking various bars does not seem to help.
b)The File, Edit, View etc. menu bar has been boiled down to an inverted triangle which if clicked, exposes the menu items in a box, etc.  How can I restore the Menu items to the Menu bar.  Again I saw nothing in Preferences and right clicking various bars did not help.
    Thanks.

Window > Timeline.   But beware that in PSE 6, 7, and 8, the timeline is buggy -- it won't always work if you try to set a date range with it.

  • Photo Elements 13 Organizer dumped all catalogue data and failed to restore backup

16 December 2014, Photo Elements Organizer running on i7 and windows 7 Pro.  All Adobe data base info had failed in that all that was visible in organizer  was music files, (mp3).  Attempted to reload data from file menu options, restore from a backup etc all failed.  Had to re install the software.  Editor still functioned OK.  Possible issue may have been a windows update which effected Adobe's software?  Reinstalled from CD, updated and reloaded images and the software is now functioning.  However this database corruption has dented the users confidence in the security of the Organizer database some 3K+ images.  Any possible remedies to make sure this does not happen again would be welcome.

From your description, there is not much we can do to help you as other Organizer users. The first thing which comes to mind is that when you can see only a type of file (music, video...), chances are that you have inadvertently set the organizer to show only that type of file (another post on the same subject today : How do I find missing .mov files in Organizer?).
After all you have attempted, we'll never know if that was the case.
More details would be helpful to know why you were not able to restore your backup (was it from the Organizer or another software?)
My personal guess is that the Windows update has nothing to do with your problems and that there has been no database corruption; the real problem is elsewhere.
If you give us more details, we'll be happy to help you.

  • Trying to upgrade Camera Raw- Elements file agent won't allow

While trying to upgrade Camera Raw, Elements 5.0 has an error message that says to turnoff Elements 5.0 File agent. I cannot find this anywhere. I use CS3 and Elements 5.0 but cannot upgrade to the new camera raw. Any one know how to shut off Photoshop Elements 5.0 file agent.exe ???
    Thanks.

The file PhotoshopElementsFileAgent.exe is located in C:\Program
Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 5.0. It may be on the list of Windows XP
Services. Possibly also listed as Adobe Active File Monitor or Adobe Active
File Monitor V5. Set any and all of these services to 'Disabled'.
Additionally, it is a good idea to go to Elements Organizer preferences and
uncheck 'Automatically check for Services' and also uncheck 'Auto Launch
Adobe File Downloader on Device Connect'.
And, yes, ACR 4.3.1 should be manually installed. As a matter of fact, turn
off the automatic updater service, too (in >Help).
