Upgrading to Production Suite 5.5

Hi,
Wondering if I upgrade to Production Suite 5.5 today, there is a window of opportunity for upgrading to 6.0 for free, if it comes out within an alotted time frame? Maybe around the time of NAB????
Thanks,
Pete

  • Production Suite (Academic) to Final Cut Studio (Retail)

I am looking to upgrade my Production Suite (Academic) to a Full Version of Final Cut Studio. Since this is really not an upgrade will the full version of Final Cut Studio not recognize my Production Suite and install everything separately? Is there anything that I can do to make my transfer easy and seamless?

    Zachary,
It sounds like you are asking '"Will the retail version install over the academic without problems?" not, "what's the upgrade purchase path."
Whether the previous version was academic or retail, best practice would be an erase and install. Most problem installations are those that simply install the new verison over the previous one.
If you have installed thrid party plug-ins (Nattress, etc.) make sure you have the orignial download - don't worry about saving them from the folders.
    good luck.

  • What is the procedure when upgrading to Creative Suite 5 Production Premium?

    Hello!
In 2006 I bought the Adobe Creative Suite Production Studio Premium. The procedure when activating the installation I don't remember exactly. The computer on which the Suite was installed doesn't have an internet connection (I thought that was the simplest and safest thing to do; I have another computer for that purpose).
Now, if I want to upgrade to Creative Suite 5 on a newly bought i7 computer, what is the procedure? What do I need to prove to Adobe that I'm eligible for the upgrade? Please tell me the serial number on the box is enough... my old editing computer doesn't start at all so any info contained there is unobtainable at the moment.

The serial number of the old version - is that, by any chance, something you get from Adobe via internet or is it stuck on the box with the manuals and DVDs?I can't remember myself.
I kept the following (I don't even know if it is from Adobe) on my other (internet) computer. Someone recognizes this as specifically relating to Production Studio, when it comes to the serial number format for example? L is a letter and N is a number.
Below are your Serial and Authorization keys.
Enter them in the "Enter registration keys" window, which can be found at:
"Help menu" -> "Enter registration keys".
    Serial-key: NNLL-LLLN-LLLL-LNLL  Auth-key: LLLN-NLNL-NLLN
As I said, I can't access info on my old editing computer. Any help would be appreciated.

  • While upgrading Adobe Creative Suite CS4 ME into Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 Design Premium, I get an error saying This serial number is not of a qualifying product, please try another. I used to be able to get a code from customer service but I can't get

While upgrading Adobe Creative Suite CS4 ME into Adobe Creative Suite CS5.5 Design Premium, I get an error saying This serial number is not of a qualifying product, please try another. I used to be able to get a code from customer service but I can't get to the chat. Please advise!!!!

MoeGhazal I reviewed your account and it looks like you have have upgraded from a CS4 volume license for Design Premium to a retail upgrade of Design Premium 5.5.
I also show that you made two purchases of CS5.5 Design Premium but the second purchase was canceled.  Please make sure you are utilizing the serial number which ends in 7886.
If you are using the correct serial number then it is likely the installer will not recognize your volume license CS4 serial number as being valid for an upgrade.  If you can contact our support team then you can be walked through an unlocking procedure to allow you to proceed with the installation.  You can contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care.  You may want to try installing a web browser you have not previously utilized.  It is likely a toolbar or some other software application is affecting your ability to access chat support successfully.
If you are still unable to reach our support team then please verify the information under your account is accurate.  If you can please then update this discussion after confirming this then I can request a member of our support team contact you directly.
Again I would recommend reaching out directly if possible as it will be the most efficient method of resolving your current error.

  • Upgrade from creative suite 4 Production  to  CS5 extended

I've just ordered the upgrade cs5 extended upgrade. I've bought in april
(via my vendor) the creative suite 4 production premium. The support tells me now via chat that is unpossible to upgrade from the suite to cs5 photoshop ? So i have to buy the full photoshop version or the full suite version ? Is that true ? How ridiculous is that ?
    grtz.

Yes, what Support told you was right -- per Adobe's Creative Suite FAQ, you can only upgrade from suite to suite, not from suite to individual product...
This is likely because of the discounted pricing of Adobe's suite offerings - for example, the price of the Production Premium bundle is about 65%-off the cost of its component products if purchased separately.
They probably also want to encourage the use of the same or more of their products going forward, rather than fewer.

  • Upgrading 4.5 tp Production Suite

I've got an Academic version of FCP 4.5. Is it possible to upgrade it by getting the Production Suite retail upgrade software? I know you can't do an upgrade to Final Cut Studio but I thought I could upgrade it to the retail Production Suite then when I was ready upgrade it to Final Cut Studio. Anybody know if this will work.

You have two options to upgrade an academic version to the next version:
    * purchase the next academic version at the academic pricing (~$800 for the suite). This version will not qualify for upgrade pricing either and it assumes you are still in a situation that qualifies you for the purchase,
    or
    * pay full retail for the next version. (~$1300 for the suite) This version will qualify for upgrade pricing down the line. If you are no longer in academia, this is really your only option.
    Good luck.

  • Upgrading from 'Apple Production Suite' to 'Final Cut Studio' ???

I have tried to upgrade Motion1 within 'Apple Production Suite' to Motion2 within FCS without installing the any of the other FCS applications such as FCP, DVDSP, ST.
The end result is that the Motion2 app have sucessfully installed and over written the previous Motion1 but I can not open Motion2 and begin working with it? The Motion icon bounces on clicking it but just doesn't open the application.
Do I need to overwrite the whole of current 'APS' that I'm using with the newer 'FCS' for Motion2 to open and work?
    Many thanks
    Simone

uninstall FCS and reinstall. you can leave your projects. it's just works better if you do a fresh install.

  • How to upgrade to apple production suite?

To upgrade to the FCP HD production suite (Final Cut Pro HD, DVD Studio Pro 3, Motion and Soundtrack) what previous software is needed? Is is just FCP 1, 2, or 3? Can't seem to find the answer. Thanks

The original serial numbers (from the software being upgraded) are required when installing the new Final Cut Studio Universal?
Also, what happens when you are upgrading an upgrade to the Final Cut Studio Universal? Will I need all those previous serial numbers to install?
The only reason I'm asking is because I was looking on getting Final Cut Studio Upgrade(original, new) on eBay, then using that to turn in to get the Universal.

  • Installing Final Cut Studio over old Production Suite upgrade

My company recently purchased 3 sets of Final Cut Studio. Two of the edit bays just got new first time installs so they worked great but the third bay has my personal verion of production suite wich has been crossgraded to Final Cut Studio. I would like to take mine off and install the company's new Final Cut Studio version. How do I uninstall and change to the new serial numbers? I have read several posts on uninstalling FCP but nothing on DVD Studio, Motion, etc.
    Thanks

If it was me, and will be soon, I'd gather up all my install discs, serial numbers from other apps etc and rebuild the system from the ground up. It'll take the better part of a day, but you'll be glad you did.

  • Will the CS5.5 Production Suite Run on Mavericks?

I've looked around the internet for this, and results are hard to find and not really clear. I need to know if the CS5.5 Production Suite will run on OS X 10.9. It's essential that a number of these are compatible, the ones I use the most often:
    Illustrator CS 5.1
    Photoshop CS 5.1
    After Effects CS 5.5
    Premiere CS 5.5
    Audition CS 5.5
I've heard something that Photoshop can run if the user installs some previous version of Java, but I'm not sure how true that is. Anything else about the specific ones listed above? Anyone get the 5.5 versions to work under Mavericks?
I'm being forced to upgrade to 10.9 because I need to upgrade from Cubase 5 to 7.5- which unfortunately, is not compatible with Snow Leopard (10.6.8), which is what I'm currently running. If I can't run CS5.5, then I guess I'll be forced to spend another 400 bucks on an upgrade to CS6. I'm a student in college, so I can't readily afford that, and I can't afford to lose access to this software either.

If there was a definitive answer to this, you would have found it. Sorry, but you will just have to muddle through. The results are so unclear and even contradictory because everyone's upgrade path is different, they use different Macs and all that... You won't know if it works until you try.

  • I bought the upgrade to Creative Suite 6 Standard, but during the installation I receive the message that the serial number of my previous version (CS 5.5) is uncorrect.

I bought the upgrade to Creative Suite 6 Standard, and the installation system asks me the serial number of my previous version (CS 5.5). I insert it, but it tells me it is uncorrect.
The machine where I'm trying to install the Creative Suite Standard CS 6 uses Windows 8 and no Adobe programs are installed here. When I bought the Creative Standard CS 5.5 I registered it for Mac platform, but I have also a serial number for Windows and it doesn't work.
I tried to register a new product in my Adobe account, using the Windows Serial number that I received when I bought CS 5.5, but it doesn't work.
    Thank you.

Yes, I have a TLP license, so which kind of upgrade should I buy?
I'm an Italian user and I would prefer to contact support by web chat but I can't find it in the website, please can you help me? Thank you, I'm desperate!

  • Upgraded to Creative suite 5 from photoshop CS5

Hi, I bought Photoshop CS5 standalone a while ago but have now bought creative suite CS5 production which comes with photoshop extended version. During the install it said it wouldn't reinstall photoshop, but is there much of a difference between standard and extended versions? Will it just install the extra bits which as far as I know have something to do with video work?
Basically should I have reinstalled photoshop to get the extended version?

CS5.5 is no longer available. You may have some luck in finding leftover
stock but this is a dangerous game unless that the seller is an
    authorized reseller of Adobe software.
You can find all of the current Adobe special offers here, including the
option of moving to Creative Cloud, which will also get you CS7 in the
    spring: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud.html

  • Please ask Adobe to re-think upgrade options for Suite owners

I have sent emails, called and tweeted this same message and I hope you will too:
Adobe please stop locking us into Suites. Please let us upgrade from a suite to an individual product if we choose.
I own CS3 Design Standard and I only want PS CS5 and AI CS5. I don't need all the other programs that come with the suite and I can save over $100 by purchasing them separately at upgrade prices.
As it stands now, I will not be upgrading to CS5 because of this policy--it is too expensive.
If you are in the same position, please let Adobe know that they are losing sales due to this policy.

I disagree with you but I understand your feelings. This has been discussed since Adobe introduced the suites in 2003.
If you have a CS3 suite, you might want to read through this article on my website which might help you save a few bucks on the suite upgrade.

Although I am not personally interested in updating a single program from a suite, I believe it could be in Adobe's best interest to do so.
Adobe could handle a single or two 'suite' program update to the individual programs in exactly the same way they handle a cross platform exchange/upgrade, i.e. one relinquishes all claim to the original suite by certifying that it has been destroyed and is issued the 'upgrade' in a full package.  With a single program or even a two program 'upgrade' of this sort from the 'suite' of programs Adobe would have income they may not otherwise receive and the customer is happy.  If it were a three or more single program upgrade then updating the suite would generally be cheaper--as it should be--that's what suites were designed for.
I agree that updating without relinquishing the original suite is not in Adobe's best interest for several reasons.

  • Can I upgrade from Creative Suite 3 to Photoshop CS5?

I have purchased Photoshop CS5 upgrade expecting to be able to upgrade from Creatvie Suite 3 Web Premium, but it doesn't accept the serial number. I don't need or use the other products in Web Premium anymore, but do use photoshop. Is this not possible??

    From the doc:Upgrade, upsell paths | CS5, CS5.5 | Single-user products
"Adobe doesn't offer an upgrade from a suite product to a single point product. If you purchased a point product upgrade, and your previous version is a suite, contact us for assistance. (The point product upgrade won't recognize the serial number from the suite.)"
