Upgrading to PSE 12 - having a problem

I am starting to regret spending $100 on upgrading from PSE9 to PSE12.
It installs just fine but I can't bring across my catalog. It stops at the same point every time - 34%.
I have followed the support document on what to do if catalog import fails but it didn't help.
I can import the photos from the HDD but none of the Tags are linked to images.
I have 1000s of images and don't fancy going through re-tagging everything again.
Any help on how to bring across my catalog with linked tags would be very much appreciated. Otherwise, I will just stick with PSE9 and curse Adobe until I feel I have vented $100 worth.

That's typical of a 'problem' file in the backup. Generally a video file; maybe a file format no longer supported by recent versions.

You mean : if the restore fails. (From the rest of your post, there does not seem to be any problem in importing all your files).
Did you search for offending files ? (most of the time, the first test is to make a catalog copy, delete from catalog all video files, and see if the restore works). Ask if you want more help for this search.
If it's an offending file, chances are that the problem is not linked to the Elements version, the restore could fail even from your version 9.
If you are in a hurry and your version 9 is still available, I would 'write metadata to files' for all your files.
Then I would use the drop-down menu of the keyword panel (small triangle next to the '+' icon under the keyword panel title) to 'save keyword tags to file'. That creates a small text file saving your keywords hierarchy.
From PSE12, I would use the same dropdown menu to import that keyword hierarchy from the saved text file.
Then, I would import all your files like you did. You would recover your tags, captions, ratings, but not the version sets and stacks.

1220 upgraded to IOS now having PEAP problems

Hi all,
I took a 1220 that was running Vxworks and upgraded to IOS last night. The upgrade went fine, however afterwards I wasn't able to authenticate to our IAS server using PEAP with MD5.
I did an erase start and tried everything from scratch (also to make sure all filters were gone).
I am at the same point as before the erase start. When I look at the event log, the one item that stands out is:
NAS-Port-Type = Virtual
Has something changed in the IOS version that authenticates differently to IAS (Windows 2000 Server) ?
I didn't make any changes to my laptops or the IAS server.
I can however allow that port type instead of "Wireless - IEEE 802.11" and the authentication succeeds, but the vlan information doesn't get passed. So I am pretty sure that is not the correct way of configuring IAS.

I thought of the exact same thing. In fact I did an erase start and started from scratch. Also, I changed the shared secret on both ends just to make sure that wasn't the problem.
I have my Vxworks version back on there right now since it is working fine.
For some reason the AP is talking different to the IAS server. I am getting the requests to the IAS server and they are all being denied. I am 99 % sure it is not the configuration on the radius server. All my AP's are configured the same way. I am 100 % sure it is not the laptops as they work on the non-IOS version of the AP's.
So that leaves the AP. I have the radius server setup, wep manditory, and eap select for the radius server. I am getting ready to put a sniffer on their and see what the differences are between the one that is working (Vxworks) and the one that is not working (IOS upgraded version).
This is my 1st IOS version to play around with, but I have configured many Vxworks AP's and they are running per-user vlans, and filters and such. Either I am missing something somewhere on the IOS version, their is a bug, or they changed the way that the AP talks to the radius server for EAP (PEAP) authentication....

Since I upgraded Firefox, I am having printing problems. Yesterday I couldn't print checks from Quickbooks. Today I cannot print a pdf. HELP!!

Photoshop element 13 crashing after os upgrade on my mac. Told upgrade not compatible, anyone having this problem?

So yeah... Had an update for OS X Yosemite. The new "Photo" app was added instead of "iPhoto". Photoshop Element 13 was working fine before and now when I try to open to pull from either one of my photo files photoshop crashes. Apple said to contact Adobe. Not compatible and need an upgrade for compatibility. Anyone experiencing this? Frustrated....

My iPhone 4s seems to be running slower and crashes after the ios6 upgrade. The power off button does not appear when I try to power it off, the screen just goes blank.

Mine seems to be running faster after the upgarde although i am facing battery drainage. Best you do a hard reset to the phone and this should solve the issue. Apparently if you upgrades via OTA, there were some issues. hope this helps

According to the user's manual, I should have access to an advanced disclosure triangle which would allow me to adjust mid contrast, colour, radius, high tonal width and low tonal width.

The advanced adjustments in the Highlights & Shadows tool were combined into the "Mid Contrast" slider in Aperture 3.3 and later. If you have any images in your library that were processed in a version of Aperture before 3.3, there will be an Upgrade button in the Highlights & Shadows tool in the upper right, and the controls you asked about under the Advanced section. Clicking the Upgrade button will re-render the photo using the new version of Highlights & Shadows, and the Advanced section will be replaced with the new Mid Contrast slider. With the new version from 3.3 you probably don't need the Advanced slider, but if you want to use the older version you can download it from this page:

I am having consistant problems w/ my mb pro freezing for 20-60 seconds while working in different programs and apps. i've upgraded my RAM to 8gigs and deleted over 60 gig of pics and videos to try to help, but nothing seems to work.

I've now been having this problem for months. It just freezes up and either shows me the dumb color wheel or doesn't show me anything sometimes and i just cant do anything for about 20-60 seconds. i can't exposae or anything. Also while working on a power point presentation it froze 4 different times for good and i had to do a hard restart just to get it working again. i lost my work and had to keep starting over. it was so annoying. it seems most of the time it does it, it is while i'm in Excel, Outlook, or Powerpoint. so perhaps it has something to do with my microsoft office. but i have the newest version and all the updates and everything. and i believe its happened when doing other tasks too. So i just can't figure it out.
A few Mac friends suggested i free up some space on my hard drive and upgrade my RAM. So i did. i put all my videos and photos on an external harddrive and deleted them all on my computer. i also upgraded to 8 gigs of RAM.
And honestly i can't even tell a difference after doing both of these.
HELP! PLEASE HELP! I'M ABOUT TO GO CRAZY. And having all the non Mac believers telling me it cause i have a Mac even drives me more nuts..

it froze a few times over the last hour and half while browsing the internet.
and also while working in excel it all of the sudden shut down excel and said. "Excel has encountered and problem and needs to shut down, you may lose the work you were on." or something like that. THIS HAPPENS ALL THE TIME TOO. Excel, outlook and powerpoint frequently just shut down on me out of now where. I've bolded and underlined when this happened.

We have had Verizon Wireless service since 2007. We have 6 lines on our account. Unfortunately in 2012 when I (903.647.0073) upgraded from the iPhone4s to the iPhone 5 I started having reception problems. I started having dropped calls in my home. I had to go outside to get reception without dropped calls. I was told that because of metal in my home I would have to purchase a Network Extender for $250. And we HAVE not metal in our home. AND our other lines all work fine. I felt this was ridiculous. We already pay $350+/month for service and I should NOT have to purchase additional equipment for a service that I already pay for. The manager of our local store at the time gave us at no cost a Samsung Network Extender. It worked beautifully until about a month ago. I went to our local Verizon store and was told that I would have to purchase an extender. THIS is RIDICULOUS. We have been loyal customers for over 7 years and have been very satisfied with our service. Unless this issue can be resolved without purchasing an extender we will be switching our service as our lines come up for renewal. I regret this as we have been very happy with our service. But we should NOT have to purchase anything extra for one line that will not get good reception. Again, we pay $350+/ month for a service that does not work properly, simply RIDICULOUS! Currently the "sys" light flashes red (slow) and the GPS light remains red. Please help this very frustrated customer.

Regardless with what carrier your with you might have the same issue, My recommendation would be to get a router that will help you with viewing live traffic and keep a tally of your usage and any device connected to your internet connection. You can go with the peplink balance 20 and be able to look at your traffic by the hour, daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Look for trends, see what computers or devices are doing what I attached a screen shot so you can see an example of mine. You can purchase the router at 3gstore

Since I did the Yosemite 'upgrade' last week I have been having problems with my MacBook Pro that never happened before. The most frustrating problems involve my keyboard which doesn't light up (checked my settings and they are correct) and the top row of function keys don't do anything so I can't adjust the volume, brightness, etc. Then if my screen goes into sleep mode, when I wake it back up I have to sign back in twice - I never had to sign in at all after sleep mode before.
I'm finding that in order to get it working properly I am having to completely shut down and start up again but when the keyboard problems are happening I can't get anything on the apple dropdown to work either (i.e. shut down, restart, etc) so I can only shut down by pressing and holding the on/off button.
I've never had problems with my Macbook before and feel like Apple have completely ruined it in one update! I've had a look through other posts on here but can't find anybody else having these problems so I would be really grateful if anyone could help me and offer me some advice on how to sort it out.

I am having a problem while upgrading my iTunes to 10.5. I've been trying to use the 64-bit installer and have tried disabling my anti-virus software. In the end of the installing process, this error comes up:

I`ve already tried to change the permissions options in ``regedit``, but when I try to change them , it still complains about not having access to the key, it says ``You do not have permission to view the current permission settings for Media, but you can make permission changes``I click in ``Ok`` and when I tried to change the options, another error comes up:
``Unable to save permission changes on Media. Access is denied.``
Can anybody help?

Try drifting up to the SourceList key, mariana. If you are able to change permissions there, try to make the changes described in Marconato's post (except that you're doing it in SourceList rather than Media):
Re: Could not open key: UNKNOWN\Installer\Products\9B00314CD581E574FBCE93FE37F2911B\SourceList\Media. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
(If we can't get to the permissions on the key directly, it seems that sometimes going up one level and using the "inherit from parent" setting can get the permissions in.)

After upgrade to iphoto 11 edits take sooooo long to complete, anyone else having this problem?

Editing photos for a slide show, each photo seems to take forever to complete edit and go on to next photo. I don't
remember having this problem before the upgrade. Does anyone know what the cause could be?

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
