Upgrading to Unlimited Broadband issues.

Hi,
I am currently on the bt total broadband 10 GB package and would like to upgrade to the Unlimited Broadband package. When I try to upgrade online the only options it eventually gives me is the current package im already on and the unlimited broadband 'extra' package which I dont want, I just want the 16 ppm unlimited package not the extra.  Any ideas?

The same happened to me - although I was on option 2. I contacted 0800 800 030 as below. It took over an hour to get through - possibly due to the BT Sports launch - but when I finally did I was offered unlimited BB for £13.25 per month.

  • Can I upgrade my BT Broadband Package within 12 mo...

    Hello.
I've just tried to upgrade my Broadband Package but the amount in the order appears to be £0.00p.
I currently am on the ordinary Broadband package but I wanted to upgrade to Unlimited Broadband but that option for some reason wasn't listed in the options.
I thought as Infinity is available in my area, I would go ahead and get the £15 a month as it's actually £1 less a month for the first 12 months.
I've submitted my order but there was no amount in the order and the item I ordered wasn't listed in the order and I didn't have to enter my debit card details.
So I don't know if I've ordered BT Infinity 1 or not.
When submitting my order, it said this at the top right of the screen:
Broadband and Evening & Weekend Calls
    Your contract started on 21/08/2013
    Your contract finishes on 20/08/2014
So do I actually have to wait until after 20th August to upgrade my package?
If so, I find that ridiculous!
You would think BT would welcome any customers wanting to pay them more money for their current telephone, broadband or BT Vision/Youview packages!
Please can anyone help and advise?
    Many Thanks.

Surely there must be some BT people or other BT customers on this forum that understand my situation as to whether I can upgrade and change my current Broadband package within 12 months of my current package?
Please can anyone else advise me?
    Thanks.
You should be able to upgrade at any point within your contract, although doing so may start a new contract period.

  • Upgrade to BT Unlimited Broadband Extra at a disco...

I've received an email from BT which starts:
'Last month you had to pay a bit extra for going over your monthly usage limit. You don't want that, and we don't want that – so how about a really special deal on unlimited broadband? We'll give you totally unlimited broadband and Unlimited UK* Anytime Calls for only £23 a month plus your usual line rental throughout. That's £5 lower than normal. You won't see this price advertised.'
I'm already on unlimited, I didn't pay any extra last month, I'm already paying less than the offer.
This is at best misleading, and at worst a blatant lie to try to get me to pay them more money.

I have received one of these and TBH it looks pretty genuine to me, it arrived on my email address that normally does not get any junk or spam, it has all the BT logos on and links to BTcom   the letter is signed by -:

I did get an email last month as I had used 7Gb of my 10Gb cap and I have been contemplating upgrading to unlimited.
I have not clicked any of the links within the email but TBH it looks very genuine to me.
I hope someone from BT can confirm whether it is or not
Below is what the email states (I have removed the HTML and links)

Hi, I want to upgrade to Totally unlimited broadband (not infinity), and keep the anytime calls I have, just chatted online with an advisor who says totally unlimited alone will be £28.75, not including the anytime phone calls, and suggested I talk to the sales team, about deals,  but I am hard of hearing, can anyone help me with what it would be in total for the month, I am on Calling Plan Unlimited Anytime Plan and Broadband BT Total Broadband Option 1, Thanks

  • Unlimited Broadband Data Plan...what's it worth if you got-ta-have it?

I have an unlimited broadband data plan that I used in an air card, and I'm not using it. The online VZ rep said the plan could be transfer to another customer. My plan is $60, and the new plans don't even offer unlimited. 10GB cost you $80 + $10 for every gig over. Who or what would require 100GB, 250GB, or 1000GB per month. I need to find that guy, because I've got a deal he'll love.
    Thanks guys,
    K8S

Wow, I have two phones due for upgrade in April. I was hoping that with these two at home and the 10Gb data plan on the modem I wouldn't have any issues living with the 10G cap since I could do big streams, like Netflix, on the phones and wouldn't hit the modem limit under normal circumstances. If I can't use a phone with an unlimited plan to watch Netflix a few times a month what good is the unlimited plan?  I'll keep an eye on the VZW forums and see if others are getting throttled regularly and for what kind of traffic. Other than P2P I can't see how legitimate downloads or video/audio streaming use should ever be throttled.

  • Upgrade to BT Broadband Option 2

    Hi,
I'm currently on BT Broadband Option 1 but have gone over the 10GB limit every month for the last three months. I'd like to upgrade to Option 2 for the 40GB for £18 p/m but when I go through the upgrade process on the website I get told I can only go to Option 3 for £28 p/m. 40GB is plenty for my requirements, I don't need unlimited broadband.
Does anybody know why I wouldn't be able to go from Option 1 to Option 2?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Unlimited broadband

I signed up for a unlimited broadband office package and have found it's not unlimited even though I have never hit my fair usage policy I am still traffic managed because I am a high user (that why I went for unlimited)
I am capped between 6pm and midnight but this isn't due to fair usage policy but a separate policy (which is section B of the fair usage policy) stating that an unlimited account can be network managed if your a high user (why by unlimited if your not a high user?)
been trying to get my mac code for 2 days but because I am only a little business it takes twice as long.
This only came to light after complaining from October 2010 until a couple of days ago
and the service you get when you question their policy is beyond a joke 4 times phone put down on me, attitude of the customer services what a joke

  • Upgraded to 20mb broadband - Got 18900Kbps connect...

After upgrading to 20mb Broadband, I was immediately impressed with the massive speed difference I was getting compared to my old 8mb line.  On Thursday (my activation day) I ran a generic internet speed test to see if my line had been upgraded and had a download speed of 18900Kbps, over 10000Kbps more than what I was getting previously. Excellent, I thought.
I downloaded a large game file yesterday during peak time at an average download rate of around 11100Kpbs, still way, way better than my previous line ever was.
    This morning (around 8am on a Sunday) I've tried to continue the download and I'm getting only around 4000Kbps.  Ran the same generic speed test and I'm downloading at a maximum of 5468Kbps, ran BT's own speed test with the same outcome;
I've been warned to expect my net to run like a bag of hammers for around 10 days after my line is upgraded, but is it normal to have such a massive difference in speed over a couple of days?  I've noticed from the data below that my line's maximum achievable speed is still at 7150Kbps, not the 20000Kbps I've upgraded to.
And how come my Assured Rate test is almost 5000Kbps, yet the maximum achievable is 1600Kbps?

    Hi Fordaz
Within the first ten days you may notice a lot of fluctuation. Hopefully your speed issues will rectify themselves during the stabilisation period but if it doesn't I'll be happy to help you with this.
Should you see no improvement towards the end of the stabilisation period email me at [email protected] with your BT account number and telephone number and a link to this thread.

  • BT released another Totally Unlimited Broadband pa...

    Hi
I have recently upgraded to the top normal broadband package BT just released at the start of
this month Totally Unlimited Broadband extra which is priced at £21 per month + Line rental
from £10.75 and this was their top normal broadband package on their website.
I have just noticed today BT has just released yet another Totally Unlimited Broadband
package just a day or two ago called Faster Unlimited Broadband which is priced
at £26 per month + Line rental from £10.75.
Looking at the description of both packages on the website below, they are identical and
have the exact same features and up to speeds thought the new just released Faster
Unlimited Broadband package for some reason is 5 pounds more per month.
Does anybody know what the difference is between the Unlimited Broadband extra
package and this new Faster Unlimited Broadband package?

    Thank you for the response.

  • Changing to the Unlimited Broadband and Calls Cont...

    Hi,
I have been looking at the Unlimited Broadband and Calls contract, and at the moment I have broadband provided by BT and have the phoneline provided by BT, but its not on a contract. I was wondering how I would go about changing to the Unlimited Broadband and Calls contract, do I just sign up for it online, or do I have to cancel what I have now and then buy the contract?
Also, this is going to sound mad, I know, would someone have to come out to set it up?
Before I do change to the Unlimited Broadband and Calls contract, has anyone had/heard of  any bad experiences with this contract?
    Thanks again in advance
    ~Iamnoone

You might find it easier to phone the sales department.
Do not cancel your existing broadband and phone - it will only cause problems.  You may even be charged a £30 cancellation fee.
There should be no reason for anyone to visit if you already have BT phone and broadband.
Play it right, and you should be able to get a new Home Hub and a significant discount on what you are currently paying, as if you were a new customer.  If you don't ask, you don't get.

    Hi
    First post here
I am currently on the origianl Classic Broadband package and wish to upgrade to More Broadband Evening & Weekend to save a few pounds each month.
As I run a business from home I can't afford any break in service or drop in the quality of a phone call
Can I keep my existing router & phone, and not install a new router/hub or phone?
Is there any break in service?
Does the quality of voice calls remain the same?
Do BT just flick a switch their end and everything stays the same for me, but at a lower monthly rate?
BT customer service tell me that I can keep my existing equipmement/no break in service/calls remai the same quality but I would like some reassurance.
    Thanks in advance

  • Unlimited broadband / total broadband option 3

Hi, can anyone tell me if the totally unlimited broadband free for 6 months £16 month after is the same as the bt total broadband option 3 ? i ordered the unlimited but in my account it says total broadband option 3 ? are they the same package?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

By the look of the BT website, there is no longer BT option 3. There seems to be BTunlimited and BT unlimited extra. The BTunlimited extra looks like it is the same as the old Option 3.  If you are only paying £16 then it looks like you are on BTunlimited.

  • Is "Faster Unlimited Broadband" the new name for t...

Before ordering it online, can I just confirm that Faster Unlimited Broadband and Evening & Weekend Calls (which costs £20 for first 3 mths and then £26 thereafter) is the fibre optic option whereby an engineer will call to fit a fibre optic cable?
The estimated speed of this option when ordering (9.1 Mbps) gives the same speed as that quoted by the wholesale checker which states: "test also indicates that your line currently supports a fibre technology with an estimated WBC FTTC Broadband where consumers have received downstream line of 9.1 Mbps and upstream line speed of 1 Mbps."
I previously thought I'd have to call 150 to order this fibre service but now it looks as though I can order it online.

basically it is infinity but for people where there speed estimate is 15mb - seen it called infinity option 3.  there is a post on speed/connection board by strontium90 which will give an idea
