Upgrading to V2...iTunes says "A secure network could not be established"
The screen mentions setting up SSL 3 or TLS 1 in the Internet Options Control Panel ... where is this?
Is this just a server overload issue?
Help!!!!!

When trying to download apps to my ipad, I get a message saying a secure connection could not be established and to check my date and time settings. Can someone tell me what this means and how to fix the problem?
It's a POP account. I decided to clean up my mailbox today after noticing the computer was real slow after USA Today started sending their daily top stories with new graphics. Also before I noticed the problem with mail deletion - two things happened. 1) I updated security sofware as prompted by Apple and 2) downloaded Mackeeper and went throught some preliminary scans but did not buy their package. Hello, Im trying to update my ipod 3g 4.2.1 to ios 5.0.1.When I try to update,itunes says that 4.2.1is the lastest sofware for my ipod.I also tried to do it manually(shift+restor)itunes says that the"ipod could not be restore because the fimwire isnot compatible" I need some help on this.
The messages are saying you have a 2G iPOd. Those canonly go to 4.2.1. Apple only made 32 and 64 GB 3G iPOd. A 32 can be either. To further identify yours:

I have moved my file from my old computer. Now that I am trying to play songs and movies iTunes says the original file could not be found. How do I reverse this problem?

I am having issues with connecting to the store...the page just hangs and when I run Diagnostics it states that a secure connection could not be established.
I have contacted apple via email and tried all the steps they have recommended and it is still not working.
I have tried disabling my McAfee and that does not work either.

I've tried just about everything I could find in all the posts on this issue and continue to get the inability to create a secure connection messag4e when logging in.
We tried the various Apple non-support channels: e-mail, chat, phone, and Genius Bar with no success.
Here's what I've tried (attempting to log in after each change):
SSL3.0 and TLS 1.0 are enabled (and always have been)
iTunes and iTunes Helper are in the Windows Firewall Exception list
reinstalled itunes 9.02 several times.
UNINSTALLED Norton Internet Security
Turned off Windows firewall.
deleted contents of /etc/hosts
Cleared SSL state
Unchecked “Check for server certificate revocation, restarted IE
--After this change I got an "network connection timed out." message

--Back to "secure network connection could not be established"

Had problems with os and now can not open firefox unless I run as admin. Error appears - Could not initialise the application's security component. The most probable cause is problems with files in your browser's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard drive is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the browser and fix the problem. If you continue to use this browser session, you might see incorrect browser behaviour when accessing security features.
I have tried deleting the cert8 db file but it is not recreated when I start firefox again. HD has lots of room. Can you suggest anything else to try please?
thanks, mandiIf deleting or otherwise removing the cert8.db and secmod.db file doesn't help then try a new profile.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Help!
Opened iTunes to play some music on the computer tonight and its coming up that the songs cannot be located for virtually all of my iTunes library??? I store my iTunes library on a 2TB hard drive and its always worked fine but I ran iBoostup software earlier today and its hasn't worked since then although I have to admit I haven't tried it for a week. It was a free app to clean up files on the apps store.
When I click on the 2TB hard drive under the iTunes link it still comes up 150GB is in the file but it just can't find the songs???
Can anyone help?

The above links also illustrate the Media folder and its subfolders. Look for a file in there in the logical structure by folder artist and album. If you're lucky, linking one file will get an offer to link others and it iwll all come together again.
I see you are running OSX 10.5.8 it would help to know which version of iTunes you use now and which one you used before. -

From the home screen, tap Settings > General > Date & Time.
If the option exists, turn off Set Automatically.
Verify the time zone and time (in the status bar) are correct for where you are currently.
If not, adjust the incorrect setting accordingly.
If everything was correct and the option exists, turn on Set Automatically.
You must also be able to open a secure connection to access the iTunes store. Launc Safari on your phone and see if you can go to https://appleid.apple.com. Turn the tables on the iTunes Store. Try this.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to download the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try again.
