Upgrading Win7 Home Premium to Win7 Ultimate trough Windows Anytime Upgrade doesn't works

I just followed all the steps in Windows Anytime Upgrade, trying to update my win7 hp to Win7 Ultimate, and at the last step i got this:
"X Enter a different upgrade key
The upgrade key you entered is for an edition of Windows that does not work with Windows Anytime Upgrade. Enter a different upgrade key"
How could this be possible if I just entering the key i got in email directly from Microsoft????
WAU just to easy to be good.

The upgrade key you entered is for an edition of Windows that does not work with Windows Anytime Upgrade. Enter a different upgrade key"
Hi,
Windows Product key is different with Windows anytime upgrade key. According to your description, it seems like the key you entered was product key. Then it prompt this error message.
Please confirm the key if it was correct.

  • I run FF18 on XP Pro and Win7 Home premium machines,Win7 toolbar appears to have updated from 17, XP toolbar why?

XP SP3 toolbar retains the symbol in Home and Back areas, Win7 now has the words instead. Other areas seem to do the same. Both work properly. Another problem which may be relevant is that the appearance of my ISP website front page on XP has not been updated when the ISP recently did so, Win 7 is up to date. It all looks like XP stuff is stuck in the past for some reason but works OK. There have been issues with XP but not this one.

You can check the toolbar setting in the customize window (Icons, Text, Icons and Text).
    *View > Toolbars > Customize
*Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout
You may have to click the Restore Default Set button in the Customize window.

  • Re: Upgrading Vista Home Premium to Ultimate - Qosmio F50-114

I want to upgrade Vista home premium to Vista Ultimate on Toshiba Qosmio F50-114 could this affect on my hardware or my other software?
I'm using 32-bit system and 4GB RAM expansible to 8GB.

    Hi
As far as I know this will not affect the hardware but I read in some threads that the Ultimate version is not fully compatible, or could be not fully compatible with some Toshiba Tools like Vista Added Package.
Im not quite sure if it could be a case on your Qosmio F50-114 but everything is possible.

  • Upgrading Win7 Home Premium 32-bit to Win7 Home Premium 64-bit

I just purchased a Thinkpad X201 that came preinstalled with Win7 Home Premium 32-bit installed and I would prefer to run the 64-bit version. Is there any way I can inexpensively get the necessary DVD(s) and will the current product key on my laptop validate the 64-bit version? I understand that this will require a clean install but as MS normally provides both the 32-bit and 64-bit version of Win7 with there standard OEM sets I was hoping that Lenovo could provide me the necessary DVD(s) at little or no cost (shipping?).
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

alternatively you can download the legal version of the 64 bit ISO from notebookreview forum ('google notebookreview win 7 iso download).
Then use that to install the version of the win 7 you want, and you can activate that OS with the serial key that you have received with your laptop on the sticker under the laptop.

  • Upgrade Win7 Home x64 to Win7 Professional

    Hi there
Just purchased the z830 which comes with Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit) and just wondering can i upgrade it to Win7 Pro (32bit)? I have the Win7 Pro CD already but just want to see if there will be any hardware issue and software issue? and how do i create a recovery partition if i upgrade it to Win 7 Pro.
    Thanks People
    David

    Hello David
You can upgrade Win7 and you can also make clean Pro installation. It is your decision but before you do anything please create recovery DVD using preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator.
It is very important. It can happen that after OS upgrade you will not be able to start recovery image from HDD. You will not have access anymore.
With recovery DVD in the hand the situation is completely different. Anytime you want you can use this disc for Win7 installation and have factory settings again.
Generally speaking all offered drivers, tools and utilities on Toshiba download page are the same for home premium or professional version so if you will make decision to install clean version you can download all stuff from - http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp
Please let us know what do you want to do exactly and if you need some assistance you are welcome.

  • OK to copy Win7 (Home Premium SP1) disk to external hard drive?

The MICROSOFT SOFTWARE LICENSE TERMS for Windows 7 Home Premium SP1
    say:
    10. BACKUP COPY.
    a. Media.If you acquired the
software on a disc or other media, you may make one backup copy of the media. You may use it only to reinstall the software on the licensed computer.
That tells about backing up the installation media.
What about "backing up" the Windows disk itself, by copying a mirror image it to an (portable) external hard drive, similar to what's mentioned in
According to Malmition's November 12, 2012 Making a copy of Windows disk - Microsoft technical link request
    post on this forum:
I work with an engineer that feels he constantly needs to restore his windows 7 drive to its original state.
He does this by have a copy of his c drive - it is not an image and he is not using any imaging software - just a flat copy of his c drive.
When we wants to start over he formats his drive, boot from a thumb drive, and copies the c drive back.
This is working fine for him.
I've watched him do the copy back and forth so I see he's not using anything to image like ghost, acronis, etc
I thought you couldn't just copy your windows drive?
I'd like to do something similar.
Is that allowed by the Win7 Home Premium SW license terms?
    Thank you.

Sorry to say: Try to solve real problems.
Major drawback: You have not specified what license you have. Specification Win7 Home Premium is not enough.
    1. Do not compare installation content on DVD and that of on hard disk. Installation disk contains packed files for your Windows. Sector by sector copy of HDD is NOT the same as what you can find on install DVD. From the point of law, the backup use (native,3rd
pty or by DD sector by sector) is legal, if you use it for restoration of Windows on HDD for the same computer, if you have ONE license.
    2. No one could object the situation, when you are backing multiple times (full, incremental,... backup)
    3. You cannot discuss c: drive only, because there is another partition that is important, namely hidden system partition. (Minimum of two partitions). License should cover the whole disk, not boot partition only.
    4. There are special rules for OEM, multilicenses, ... I have created system image that I distributed on many computers, because of I used special licenses that allow for multiple use in lab environment (Campus License, MSDN Academic Alliance, Dreamspark)

  • Recovering to Win7 Home Premium 64-bit version [ L505-S5984 ]

    Hi there,
I purchased a L505-S5984 in the black friday sales, comes bundled with 3gb memory and a 250gb hard drive.  It's also pre-loaded with Win7 home premium - 32bit edition.
Does anyone know how the Toshiba recovery process works, especially, what factor determines whether a user will be prompted to install the 32bit vs the 64bit version of the operating system?
I'm examined the recovery media and believe, filewise, everything is there for a 64 bit installation.  I suspect theres some (config) setting(s) with the recovery image such that it wont give an option for a 64bit installation?
Anyone else played around with this?
    Thanks

I believe that there is a post in the Windows 7 forum here that tells how to do this on some models.  I don't remember specifically which one it is, but the Subject Line was something on the order of 32bit to 64bit.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

I have windows 8 and this is not listed here. will it work?
It is quite an old mac but running 10.6.8.
    Please help

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Windows 8 also works, but only with compatible Macs > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5634?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US Note that you can also install Windows 8 in non-supported Macs by Apple, but you will not be able to install the Windows support software.
As you have got Mac OS X Snow Leopard and after checking that your Mac supports Windows 8, you need to download the Windows support software from this website > http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1638

  • I cannot Upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 using Windows Anytime Upgrade

A little while ago I bought an activation and serial key so I could upgrade my Windows Vista to Windows 7
My PC is FULLY compatible and I checked 3 times with Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor ,
I launched Windows Anytime Upgrade and there was no option to upgrade only to go to the website and comapre different versions of Vista
I was a bit fustrated and I have been looking for an answer all afternoon
If someone could help me that would be amazing
    System Details
    HP Pavillion Slimline
    Windows Vista ( 32- Bit )
    Dual Core Proccessor
    2.5Ghz

What is needed to upgade to Windows 7 is an install disk.  You can borrow one or download the one needed, depending on the key purchased.  Windows Anytime Upgrade will only upgrade in the product line that is installed.  Which version of Windows 7 did you purchase?  And do you need/what 32bit or 64bit?

  • I just upgraded the software on my iphone 4s and now the touchscreen doesn't work and i have the itunes logo an arrow and a plug on my screen

I just upgraded the software on my iPhone 4s. Now the touchscreen doesn't work and on the screen is the itunes logo, an arrow and a plug. I have powered it off and on and nothing changes

The iTunes icon and cable means that it's gone into recovery mode - you will need to connect the phone to your computer's iTunes and you should be able to use that to reset the phone, and you can then restore/resync your content to it

  • Windows Anytime Upgrade fails (NB505)

Brand new NB505-N500, wanted to upgrade to Windows 7.  Installed the MS Upgrade Advisor, probably more of formality, everything OK.  However, when I launch the Windows Anytime Upgrade, and select the first choice, "Go online to choose...", I get nothing but a blank page with a little red X.  2nd choice to enter a key directly displays OK.
Tried repeatedly, and installed all the latest MS patches - still no change.
Called support and they referred me to call MS.  Have to wait till they are open on Monday.
In the log file, found the URL that the Upgrade program uses, and it looks to be Toshiba/OEM product dependent:
