Upgrading your trial site

Hi I have built my website on business catalyst.  I have transferred the domain from Go Daddy and now gone into the site domains and all i can see is two trial versions - do i have to wait for it to be moved from Go Daddy or click launch site.  Tried to click on your link for upgrading the trial site but its not there.  Any help greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Thank you I have done this.  Now we are experiencing problems with the site map.  We have generated the site map however it keeps showing this error.  We have looked at everything and cannot figure out what has gone wrong - can you help please.

    how large are your site collections and content databases?
    sounds to me like you're WELL past the recommendations, which could certainly cause such an impact.

    I setup a webBasics+ trial site for a client.  Now he wants more features, but they are only available if I upgrade to the webMarketing plan. Can I upgrade a trial site or do I have to delete and start over?  I can’t seem to find any info on this subject.

    Yes, that's my understanding too.
    I haven't tried this before, but could you use the Create Site option in the Partner Portal which sets up a webCommerce 5 site; and choose the option to replicate from the existing trial site?
    When you're ready to put the site live, you can opt to down-grade it to a webMarketing.
    Only danger would be that you'd need to ensure you don't adopt any webCommerce elements (e.g. Web Apps, eCommerce) during the development.
    Has anyone else ever done this?

    You can create a trial site and then upgrade the site plan to web marketing so that you can use Blogs. The site will still be in trial.
    This will not require any fee.
    Please get in touch with support to get your trial site upgrade to web marketing.

  • Max size for trial site on business catalyst?

    Not sure if this belongs on Business Catalyst forum, but is there a maximum trial site size?  I see that the standard webBasics (which comes with Muse) has 100MB of space, can we go over that in the trial site and buy the extra space later?

    There is no maximum trial size, you can build your site and then once you upgrade to a paid plan you'll be able to buy more overages.

    I have the exact same issue.
    When a user tries to follow some document or site, the same error occurs. When I look at the personal site of the user, the "Social" list is missing.
    When I have another user do the same thing, it works! The Social list for that user is there.
    The difference between the 2 users:
    The user where the issue occurs => mysite has been upgraded from SharePoint 2010
    The user where the issue doesn't occur => mysite has been created after the upgrade to SharePoint 2013.
    So, I tried to delete the mysite of the user who had the issue and let him recreate it by visiting the MySite host and now it works!
    The thing is... I have 100 users having the same issue and a lot of them are actually using their mysite, so deleting those mysites is not really an option.
    I have 2 questions:
    1. why is that "Social" list not created when mysites are upgraded from SharePoint 2010?
    2. Can I trigger some process which fixes this for existing sites?

  • Cannot open indd file in CS5.5? "Please upgrade your plugins to the latest version or upgrade..."

    I refer to a similar forum post here - http://forums.adobe.com/message/4081971 - which outlines a similar problem with opening a file.
    The difference is the file I can no longer open was created using Adobe indd CS5.5 and I am opening it with Adobe indd CS5.5. I have never had this issue previously. The only change is to a new OS on Mac - Version 10.8.2. Error message says "Cannot open "File name" please upgrade your plugins to the latest version or update to the latest version of Adobe" - I know there is CS6 but why should I now need to upgrade suddenly?
    Can anyone help here? I can forward a link to the file in question if needs be.

    @Catie – did you verify, if your InDesign file is saved in version CS5.5?
    You could do so by using a ExtendScript (Adobe's version of JavaScript) written by Jongware.

    If the problem is due to a corruption of plug-in version information, I fear you have no chance other than:
    1. Update CS5.5 to the latest bug-fix version => 7.5.3
    2. Download a trial version of InDesign CS6, open and export the file to IDML and re-open it in InDesign CS5.5 (though this might not work for a corrupted file)
    3. Try to open the file on a different machine
    Are there 3rd party plug-ins involved? If so contact their makers…

    The other part of the upgrade message was a warning that once you upgraded you would no longer be able to open the library with the old version which is exaclty what you did and what happened when you choose to continue
    The iphoto library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iphoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process may take several minutes depending on the number of photos in the library. Cancel or upgrade.
    So now your choices are to not use iPhoto with the previous version using it onky with the newer version, restore your backup from before you did this upgrade or purchase iPhoto Library Manager and use it to rebuild the library using the older version of iPhoto (instructions are on their web site) thereby downgrading it (without projects)

    No one is likely to recommend where you buy your software from other than Adobe in these forums... not so much because of support for Adobe, but mostly because of lack of support/knowledge of any third party vendors.  I only know from experience that when you invest in bargain pricing you usually get what you pay for.

    If you run Get-OrganizationConfig | fl Name,objectversion in your DR-Site, what is the version number you see?
    If its not 14247, the schema has not been upgraded.
    /Hosting is not supported with SP2, so you need to leave that out.

  • Trial sites rant

    As I am continuing to explore the possibilities of Business Catalyst, I bought a recent template deal from Tribevita. I downloaded their templates, which in turn zapped the amount of trial sites (100 max) available to create new Muse site tests or any trial sites I might want to create from BC.
    I am a free partner ... how are we supposed to test the BC environment out with the 100 limit?
    So I have been told I must DELETE the templates i downloaded to free up trial site space, which is ABSURD. In the meantime, I am paying for a Creative Cloud subscription, where I use Muse for mocking up designs, but I can't trial site anything anymore because the templates I downloaded have used all that spots up.
    What am I missing here, BC? Are we really expected to pay $995 to upgrade to a partnership so I can use Muse (which mind you I am paying $50/mo that i now can't use).
    Has anyone else come across issues like this? An d warning: if you do purchase templates, in the hopes of using them in the future, they all count against the trial max.
    Any ideas?

    Just seems like there should be a difference between templates and trial sites.
    A Drupal or WP user can collect hundreds of templates for future use, and then load it in for a live dev site when they choose. In BC, if I understand it, it's not like I can load up a .zip file into the BC environment and then activate it as trial site then. It's instantly counting against the trial max and that's a limitation for it being a SAAS vs. something you can load locally in MAMP.
    If BC templates were at least treated as not live, just something that could be activated to a trial site when needed, that would be useful. I think BC has a lot of potential, I like it a lot (coming from a Drupal 6 user) ...
    By way of Muse, yes, it is a different thing all together .. i am now looking at a different hosting solution for those sites and trials .. and use the free BC partner account to host the templates.

    That just means that the BoA website doesn't recognize the identifier Safari sends to it when it makes a webpage request. Are you still on Mac OS 10.4.8 as indicated by your profile, or are you using a newer version of OS X? Has this site ever worked with Safari to your knowledge?
    Either way, I would forward the error to BoAs website feedback address and use an alternative browser in the meantime, such as:
