Upload a logo in the form builder

Could anybody tell me how to upload a logo in the form builder using tcode either pe50 or pe51.

Hi Srinivas,
You have to for a pre-printed stationary for the logo.
I mean use the stationary which has logo already printed & then use form editor to print the data.
For what purpose your using form editor?
If your using for Payslip/Renumeration statement, then this is the only way. I had done the same thing, used pre-printed statinary containing logo on it.

How to validate multiple lines which is exist in the form builder at the same session

Hi All,
we are working on oracle Forms personalization to trigger the message at the point of saving multiple lines rather than requiring each line to be save individually. Currently the oracle form is allowing to user to enter two distinct lines that have same resource and basis type in BOM.
Currently the Oracle form is allowing to enter the duplicate combination and not giving any error message even we enter the same combination of data.
As per the customer requirement, they don’t want to validate the data while creating the records but when they try to save the form, in that case it should validate all the records at a time then need to display the appropriate message.
Customer don’t want to customize the Oracle standard form. Here we have only option to use form personalization or through custom.pll.
Any idea on how to validate multiple lines which is exist in the form builder at the same session as before inserting the record itself need to perform the validations for all the records.

you can write a post script which will do the necessary tasks.
I mean, once you are done with inserting records into these tables, exeute another procedure which will insert these "extra" records, based on some logic.
you may not be able use DB trigger as it may generate mutating error or if you don't write it carefully, it will go into recursive loops as you are refering to same tables.

Problem i'm facing while trying to open the form builder

I'm facing a small problem while i'm trying to open the form builder via Portal - content management - form builder, i.e., intially a dialogue box statting that :
Applet(s) in this HTML page requires a version of java different from the one the browser is currently using. In order to run the applet(s) in this HTML page, a new browser session is required, press 'Yes' to start a new browser session.
is getting displayed.
when i click either of the buttons, only a statement as : java plug in dected JRE collission get's displayed.
If any one knows what this problem is all about, please share the same.

Hi Vipin,
It should be the problem with the JDK version you have currently got installed. Un Install the current version and install latest JDK and set your browser to use this JRE.
Also goto System Admin>System Config>Content Admin-->Form based publishing and ensure that the check box for "Allow HTML Output" is checked.

How to make changes to .fmx file using the form builder

Hi all
I have a .fmx form in the AR_TOP directory of the Oracle E-business suite.Now I need to make some changes to the form and compile it and place it back .But the .fmx file didnot open using the form builder 6i .So is there any way that i can convert the .fmx to .fmb so that I can open the form using the Form builder 6i??
I have the toad s/w installed but I dont know how to open the form using the Toad.

I have a .fmx formYou cannot open a fmx-file with any developer tool. To make changes to the source-code you need the fmb-file and open it witj Forms-builder
AR_TOP -directory of the Oracle E-business suiteBe careful when changing source-code in the ebusiness-suite. If its a module from oracle i don't if its supported if you do changes in it.
I have the toad s/w installed but I dont know how to open the form using the Toad.Toad is definitely the wrong tool for forms-modules.

Open form builder.
Make connection with database.
Now open the form.

Forms builder- only displays records created in the form builder?

Hi there. I am new to Oracle and forms builder. I just have a query. I have created a form and when I run the form, it doesnt display the data out of my database. I can add a new record using the form and it will add it to my database:

Forms starts with an empty screen(no records), only when you execute a query, the records are retrieved from the database.
This can be done by executing the "execute_query" command.
This can be done by pushing the button in the toolbaar, choosing the menu item, hitting the function key.
But it can also be done programmatically in forms code(in a trigger).

Run Oracle reports from the FORM builder

Hello All,
We have Oracle Form base application running on the window OS.
(Form version is 9.0.4.1.0)
Our Database is installed on Linux box (DB version: 10.1.0.3.0)
I need to run different Oracle reports from the form based application or from the form builder. (Report Builder 9.0.4.1.0)
Any feed back will be appreciated.

Error when uploading file in TA: SFP (Form Builder)

Hi Everybody,
i am having a problem in Transaction SFP (Form Builder)
I download a Form Objekt and it was written correct in my Local Drive with the ending xxxx.XML.
Then i wanted to Updold the file, then it says:
"Error occurred when uploading file (unknown file format)
Message no. FPUIFB068"
we are using ERP2005 Rel. SAP ECC 6.0

Even I faced the same issue whenI tried to upload the form which was developed in Standalone Live cycle designer and I wanted to upload the same into SAP SFP. Initially I felt that this kind of activity might be supported by SAP Adobe Live Cycle deisgner, But it says the Error wron file foramt....
So what I felt is instead of trying to upload the form by using the tool provided by SAP... I directly copy pasted the XML source code into the SFP newly ccreated blank form. ya..it displays some warning messages...But still since I used a Printable form so I could not face any issue...Might be there would be some effect of this warning in Interactive forms.....
But for copying this you donot want to be a expert in the XML area.. All I did was just copied the source xml file from the line <TEMPLATE> tag and till the end and I replaced in the target xml fiel from the same tag from the top <TEMPLATE>....
and save and activate.....

Cannot activate a Form in the Form Builder

Hello,
I have a problem with activating a Form and I don't know the reason of this error. I get the following message after an activation in vain:
SOAP Framework error: SOAP Runtime Exception: CSoapExceptionTransport : HTTP send returned with status code(100.101).
What's the cause of this message?

Check the below things are working.
(1). Check whether ADS destination is available or not.
     If available, go to (2).
     If Not, Create ADS destination .
(2) Run the program FP_PDF_TEST_00 in SE38. (Enter destination ADS)
     If the output is ADS version number (some thing like 705.20060414080730.290845), go to step (3).
     If not, Check the setup in sap and ADS configurations.
(3) Run the program FP_TEST_00 in SE38 and retain the default value in the selection screen and execute it .
     If the output is PDF document, you setup is correct. You are set to work in PDF-Based print forms.
     If some error receive, you need to check all set ups in SAP.

when I try to connect as system or sys or scott user its oben properly, But when i try by another user its not work.

Hi,
     In the form builder (tcode SFP), click on layout tab, just drag image icon from library into your layout and then specify it's localtion in your frontend. Also check the below thread,

Open a form with space on the path with form builder from a batch

I cannot open a form from a batch on Windows if the absolute path contains spaces.
For example, if I try to open a form in "C:\" from cmd with C:\ORANT\bin\ifbld60.exe C:\Form.fmb, I have no problem, if I try to open a form in "C:\Documents and Settings" with C:\ORANT\bin\ifbld60.exe "C:\Documents and Settings\Form.fmb" or C:\ORANT\bin\ifbld60.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Form.fmb, I have some dialog with info and the error FRM-90927 and form builder doesn't start.

Why is that you want to open a FMB in Form Builder with a Batch file?
Is it that your application has only one FMB and that you work with only one FMB all the time?

Can't open the forms using Oracle Forms Builder 6i

Dear All,
I at first download the file .fmb from linux server to local pc.and I setup oracle Forms builder 6i and want to edit the file .fmb on the local form builder ,but can't open it with forms builder raising FRM-10043.
I download the source file .fmb using both mode of ftp and I try it but it faise to open it. I don't know why it is.pls which one who knows it tell me.

Oracle Form builer under linux server is for Forms 6.0(Form builder) version 6.0.8.25.2,and Oracle Form builder under my XP is for Forms [32 Bit] Version 6.0.8.11.3 (Production).I download the file .fmb from linux server to my XP using ftp tool,but the form builder on pc can't open it.

Compiling fmb module in Form builder does not change the fmx file

Hi,
I am using Oracle Forms Builder version 10.1.2.0.2 To edit 10g2 forms.
In the last month, it happened twice that an fmb file I edited in the forms builder did not change the fmx aftrer compilation.
namely, when I opened the fmx file in the application, I didn't see the changes, but they were present in the fmb form opened in the Form Builder.
Usually when we have the fmx file open in the application, the form builder won't let me compile it - showing the following error:
FRM-30087: Unable to create form file
When this error happens and the changes are not reflected, this error message doesn't appear even though the fmx file is open in the application.
I tried deleting the fmx file, and then opening it in the application to see if there is another copy of it.
The application gave an error 40010 - can't read form.
When I recompiled the file, the fmb didn't show any changes either, even though the file was created again in the file system.
I could not find a way to consistently reproduce this problem.
Did you ever encounter such a problem?
I noticed the edit -> preferences -> general menu has the option to "save befor building".
Does it mean the Form Builder keeps a cached copy of the fmb in memory, and when this error happens it compiles the original file system fmb file rather than the cached memory copy with the changes?

Thank you for your response.
I verified the version of the forms on the Application Server and they are the same.
This problem is quite tricky to reproduce, it happens once every few months!
(we have about 10 developers, who are developing and testing on multiple servers - so far two of the servers showed this issue)
I've determined that the reason this happens is that:
1. The compiled fmx is vied in the application.
** for some reason, the frmweb.exe process on the server does not terminate properly **
2. The developer compiles the form again in Form Builder
3. The Form Builder does not detect that the form is open in the mal-terminated process
There usually is an error message here saying the fmx module is locked - this error happens because this message is not displayed.
I will attach an image of the process monitoring tool we use ( ProceXP ) showing the ghost process that locks the fmx module.

If anyone has an idea for a solution, this will help immensely.

And about the NLS_LANG for developer why you want to create for developer. Its is already there in REGISTRY. Just seaching in developer registry you can find there.
how do I set more than 1 at a time.
You can set only one NLS_LANG parameter at a time.
